Thats the dream job right there! I'm hoping to finish my commercial rating this summer up here in Alaska, and build up some tailwheel time for banner towing!!

We lost one of those planes and a pilot. I built those signs for my dad from about 11 to 18 years old. We had a pilot got a rope caught around the rudder. He could have dumped the whole thing in Lake Michigan but he tried to land the plane at Schaumburg Airport and spun in. That retired us.

A banner tow pilot is a guy who spends a little extra time doing a pre-fight check, especially the sumps for the fuel tanks.

2:04 why is AOPA promoting confederate iconography?

Because this is America… and in America we can do as we please, post what we want, and be confederate if we’d like 🇺🇸

Uh, that was a traditional flag used in the Revolutionary War.

The Gadsden flag has absolutely _nothing_ to do with the Confederacy. In fact, it predates the Confederacy by 86 years - it was designed in 1775 and flown by the Continental Navy and Marines during the Revolutionary War.
You were so eager to be offended you didn't stop to fact check first.

@@kylekinle5055 Even if the flag _was_ "Confederate iconography", the pilot can dress as he pleases. Just because one individual in the employ of a company has personal beliefs, that doesn't mean that his company is "promoting" those beliefs.

Many differences in technique and aircraft configuration from when I flew for my friend's company, SkyAd, out of a 1,600 foot strip, with tall trees at the approach end on Very short final, in Huntington Beach California during the 1980s. Obviously, if you've seen one banner flying operation... you've seen One. 😊
