    These videos are very useful and easy to understand! I have a lot of trouble with tutorials usually, but I feel like I really know what you're doing. I have a suit off the rack that I had to get a jacket a little too far from my measurements in order to fit in the trousers, so these will be very useful as I get it to look right

    My seamstress refuses to try and shorten my sport coats because of the rounded edges. She did a good job on my Crombie style coat. No curves

    Thank you so much for making such informative videos. I really appreciate it 😊. I'm not sure if you have done it already but if you wouldn't mind, I would love to see a video on how to take in the shoulders of a sports coat. That would be awesome! Again thank you so much, I know it takes a lot of time to make these videos. ❤️

    For suit jackets that have interfacing, what is the best weight to use?

    • @sewshowwithshae
      @sewshowwithshae  Год назад +1

      We typically use a weft fusible in a soft grey color, I’m not sure what the weight is actually but I like the roll that comes in a 3 inch width.

    This is awesome!
    however, there's a potential issue with shortening a jacket from the hem - the pocket and proportion of the jacket may be thrown out of place.
    I've seen some alterations tailors shortening a jacket both at the hem and the shoulder.
    Would you consider doing a tutorial on how to shorten a jacket from the shoulder?
    Thank you for always sharing your knowledge!

    • @sewshowwithshae
      @sewshowwithshae  11 месяцев назад +3

      True, I wouldn’t go more than 3 inches from the bottom for the pocket portion issue. And I will be honest, I personally wouldn’t shorten from the shoulder due to the way it would affect every other proportion, especially the arm hole shape.

    What sewing machine do you use?

  • @buffpanda527
    @buffpanda527 9 месяцев назад

    I want to crop a suit jacket I have.. would you personally just cut through the whole thing and rehem accordingly? My main concern is actually that I want to crop it kind to where the lapel starts to end. I wouldn't be closing it so the button isn't an issue, just the lapel.
