Then you have arno who keeps running on top of boxes or ledges when you are either trying to just run or go a certain way. Then you have kassandra who wont climb up half the time and just gets stuck. See here’s the thing we pretend like some games are perfect when that doesn’t and will never exist. I can sit here and pick apart every video game known to man

When this game works like a good girl, it can provide the best stealth action and parkour experience that AC can arguably provide. There's a very big asterisk that comes with that statement however.

Good, this game has become so overrated now, and I'm so fucking sick of people praising it to death, I love Unity as much as the next guy but it's still a broken game, even after the patches and fan mods.
unity is broken on a fundamental level. it has so many issues that cannot be fixed by any patch unless ubisoft wants to completely rework parts of the game. the cover system took them over a million lines of code to implement and it barely functions
it was never fixed lets be honest. getting detected alerts the whole neighborhood as well sometimes, some jarring stuff. But the bright spots in the game shien brighter than any of the game in the series imo, when it IS working, its a sight to behold.
I tried playing it on the platform it came out for, ps4. I promise you the game is still the absolute buggy mess it came out as, discarding frame rates drops from npc density, I can encounter around 10 bugs from parkouring in 5 minutes, some minor, others, not so minor. Story missions are glitched out, having to restart entire missions, I tried one game of co-op, the mission broke because the character of the mission stopped moving, I don't want to even start about how bad the detection is in general either. Sure, if you play on ps4 pro, pc or ps5 these issues are slightly subsidised just due to better performance and the game being able to load more thanks to the systems but it nonetheless still is a broken game. For reference, Syndicate had 0 of the issues I had in Unity on the same system and was a way better experience just for playing in general although due to the location, parkour cannot be properly utilized. If AC Unity had all the patches and the updated parkour, It would be what everyone wanted to be bar the bad story, no one would hate syndicate parkour in Unity because it was never that bad to begin with and it would at least for me in the discussion of the top 3 AC games.

@@fredster594 factually wrong. Ezio trilogy (especially brotherhood) are top tier games from that era. Tell me what can you criticise Brotherhood for? Beautiful historical setting in Rome, fast and dynamic parkour with well designed environments and side ejects. Cool side content like being able to call your own assassin's to assist you. Interesting side missions and most importantly peak writing when it comes to story, dialog and characters. Don't get me started on atmosphere and music. Combat is also simple but smooth. Your opinion is every casuals opinion that jumped on the hate bandwagon but hasn't been there in golden AC era.

A game shouldn’t be so inconsistent to the point that, like you said, everyone has a “completely different experience” That’s bad, a game should function in predictable ways every time you play it, and Unity just doesn’t

I can’t speak for you but I genuinely never ever have an issue leaving cover or really anything to do with the cover system I legitimately think it’s fine

Sometimes you gotta let go out all other buttons & just tap A so Arno can leave cover, same concept with windows. It's not refined too well
The easiest and most consistent way to leave cover is to push out of the cover with your movement input and tap high profile
Kiwi’s way does work too but I find it slightly awkward at times
