It'd be cool if you did elemental runs (All water, All Ghost, All Dragon, ect.)
A rule I'd add to make it just straight up harder would be to only catch the first encounter every 10 floors. Less choices would making choosing a good team wayyy harder.
This is how I assumed a ruleset for it would work, that or each new “area”

I love that this game has somehow managed to take already existing mechanics in Pokemon and make better use of them than even Pokemon themselves have. Like PP, ethers and elixers. Almost useless in official Pokemon games, but much more useful in this game
Turns out that being able to fully heal all of your pokemon for free after every battle makes the game boring
Tinkaton just totally clapping the endgame is hilarious, we love a violent and tyrannical queen
Personally I'd ban shinies as starters. They give such an advantage that it cant be over stated. Random encounter shinies are fine, but guaranteeing luck early is kinda busted
You can't disable them anyway it keeps the luck even if you turn them non shiny
The amount of berries on Tinkaton is insane
Kinda hook up into poke rouge thanks to you. At first i was like "This is so mid"...then i start learning how the game actually work with your videos and is very enjoyable...i love this kind of grinding lol
1 Mon per Biome after you get a full party
limiting the stat boost items like Vitamins to 1 stack per mon (so only protein on one, and only carbos on another)
Maybe play a Soul Link with another poketuber, so your mons are linked
Everyone keeps skipping the free paradox mons at the last 10 floors.
You can capture them when their HP drops to red/orange like boss pokemon.

Yoooo one thing I'm doing to make the nuzlocke a fair bit harder, is by doing it on a completely fresh account and building that account from 0. Just so it feels like I'm doing the nuzlocke starting from the origin of the game. Each attempt I have more and more options. I've yet to win (my pb is 150, 2x), but I've enjoyed playing it a lot.
Multiscale gyarados is the hard carry I’ve used from the day I unlocked it haha.
New Nuzlocke idea
Beat classic mode with only a specific type of pokemon, preferably something weak, like bug.
id say start with one mon and build the team up, and go from there for adding rules
Randomly pick only one starter. It's a nuzlocke, so you can go and pick one if you choose to be a little more pure to the game mode. If you do pick, go in the spirit of the games and pick an actual starter mon that you'd normally get in a game's early choice.
I find it extremely interesting how you mute the vile curse words you say every other sentence, but yet you let all the actual cursing and blasphamy play audibly. Truely the chef's kiss that makes this video that much more exciting to watch! You're a great role model, if only I had a grain of the level of creativity you share with us FOR FREE, every time you upload :o

I think the easiest way to make things harder would be to only allow one starter. I feel like immediately having a full team of 6 defeats the purpose of doing a Nuzlocke. Using Pokémon that you don’t normally run with is my favorite part of the experience.
I've been using sort-of Pseudo-Locke rules for my runs. One of the rules I use makes it so you can't catch anybody new if your party is already full.

Yeah that's been the most fun part for me too, honestly. I'm not doing it in dex order though, I like the chaos of me just randomly picking out some Mons to start the run with.
@@Kronos_88 I feel that, I’m doing it dex order just to keep it more organized and schtuff, also it adds difficulty since I have to do almost entire solo runs with the legendaries
ive been doing solo classic runs, farthest so far has been raging bolt dying to e-max eternatus (dont have even a decent tink, otherwise thats free lol)
Not really a part of the normal nuzlocke rules, but just to make it harder, maybe only use pokemon that can't evolve or evolve again. That would make it pretty difficult I think, but obviously you're the pro here.
I think to make it more Nuzlocke-y, you should pick just 1 starter and only catch the first encounter of each biome

What about a run with no steel or fairy type pokemon? Either type lets you just sit in front of Eternatus and Rayquaza without much issues so could make it more interesting
Some ideas (mix and match as you like):
No buying items
No pickup
No egg moves
No passive abilities
No starters (catch the mon on route 1 and release the rest)
Only one starter allowed
No healing moves
No set up moves
No berries
No held items
No X items
No shinies
Random starter (use a random number generator)
No starters that cost more than 4 (that number can be changed)
No healing period (maybe you can catch more often with this one)
Can only catch the first wild encounter on each biome
No catching boss Pokemon
No overleveling
Personally I might do:
No pickup
No berries
No egg moves
No passives
No healing moves
No set up moves
No X items
Only one starter
Random starter
Starter cannot cost more than 4
Can only catch the first encounter of each biome
No overleveling

I definitely think the 'only allowed to catch the first pokemon on each route' rule should be implemented next.

I suggest grinding for Magical Torque on Tinkaton to never have to rely on play rough again
I don`t know how hard it would made it but maybe every 10 floors you have to change out a Pokemon on your Team with a Pokemon you caught. If you fail to catch a mon you have to release one of your Team( Only in effect if you have 6 mons or if you want it extra Hard from Floor 1
The multi lens really cuts down the power of the moves though
I think you're sleeping on Fearow - with moxie, tidy up, floaty fall, and extreme speed - he can sweep through a lot of (but not quite all) the rival fights, gym leaders, and elite four.
I picked him up for luck on the day he had pokerus, and he promoted himself to my primary carry pretty quickly.
fearow as a mon itself is bad, only really has good speed and attack, and even then i believe the speed is like 10 higher than attack
@@professoryorick5676 youre confusing pokerogue with regular games. Moxie, egg moves, and the way stat buffs change the game completely.
In a regular game - Fearow is terrible. Absolutely agree there.

granted ive been doing solo classic runs (one mon, occasionally catch one for IVs or ability or shinies but) but fearow is bad mon, pokerogue didnt change BSTs or stat distributions.
@@professoryorick5676 as i said earlier, he can solo entire elite four and gym leaders - a lot of them.
Maybe you just need to get better at using him if you can't pull it off.

I think some great rules would be 1. No reviver seeds 2. Only be able to bring one Pokemon with passives. 3. Only three Pokemon at the start. Pretty much the rules you have on your mono generation runs.
I think a decent first step is to restrict yourself to starter Pokemon with an initial cost of 3 or less. It's not as incremental as it looks - it eliminates Tinkatink from the starter lineup. If you were to combine that with a "only first Pokemon per floor" rule, getting your hands on a Steel/Fairy type would require specific routing and at least decent luck, if you don't manage to stumble your way into it with DNA Splicers.
I'm sure there are other little customizations that can be added, like "no shiny starters" and the like.
I think you should make it where you have to catch a pokemon every 10 floors and no passive abilities. If you want it even harder you could try no healing items but i don't know if that's possible. Loved the video and can't wait to catch you live
No restrictions on moves/abilities, but you can only start with 1 pokemon. You have to catch the rest, like a traditional Nuzlocke

Just lost my best run at 195 because ivy's bruxish 1 shot my garganacl from basically full hp and he had +10% def item. He could have taken the rest of the team solo as stealth rocks were up, gutted. Although I decided to make pokerogue harder for myself for no reason by deciding to use only gen 5 starters and serperior is very poor and samurott not much better, rock head emboar carries though
Starting with only 1 mon, as well as maybe only picking up the first you come across every 10 floors. Idk if both are possible at the same time, but it feels similar to a normal nuzlock.

I'd be curious how a fresh save file run would go, since it seemed that not only being able to pick the most optimal Pokemon for the run(cough cough Tinkaton) but Passive Abilities + shinies seemed to be a massive boon. Though you can just choose to go without a Shiny Pokemon though.

Just deactivate passives and unallow pokerus, you'll have a hellish experience

One way to make this harder would be to use only one starter Pokemon. Or, to make it even harder, to release the starter Pokemon right after making the first catch.
I tried doing a nuzlocke in endless with one pokemon (walking wake) and only catching the first pokemon every 10 levels....I only lasted around the 50s.

One way to make it harder is definitely to use pokemon that aren't shiny or have any unlocked abilities and one more difficulty spike could be that you are only allowed to heal before and after every major battle
