Happy you’re back! We’re wrapping up design on a similar build and your channel has been very reassuring to me as a first time owner-builder. Keep it up and good luck!
@@Mountainview-mesa Yes. I have the VTTouch screen (wired) as my main controller. I also use VC0190 as a boost option in each bathroom (wired). It is a very nice feature to be able to control all aspects of the ERV. It also allows you to leave the ERV in smart mode, which for the most part.. does a good job.
Great looking install! I may have missed this but did you consider having an additional inlet and exhaust in the basement? I am considering doing that for my ERV install. My basement seems the most stale with a dehumidifier running all year. I know there is a risk in the summer about exchanging too much humidity even if the ERV removed some. May make the dehumidifier bill even worse than it already is.
@TheSessions101 It sounds like you live in a more humid climate than we do. We dont have a basement, and our climate is one of the driest in the country (not THE driest, but pretty close). So we don't have a dehumidifier, either. Let us know how that detail works!
Thanks for video. I appreciated it! Had a couple questions though: 1. I wanted to confirm that the ERV is plugged into a standard outlet. No special wiring to it? 2. Is the ERV somehow hooked with an air handler to move the air in and out? 3. How did you get tech support? When I looked, Broan are Canada based and only talk with contractors and not home owners. Am I missing something? 4. Did you ever figure out how to make it so it doesn’t run on high all the time? 5. If you had to do it again, what would you have done differently? Other than the longer duct sweep.
@jct8291 Thank you so much for your close attention to our video! I can tell you truly watched it. I am happy to take on each of your questions. 1. The Broan just plugged into a standard American wall outlet. 2. The Broan 210 has its own fan and motor to move air. We do not have any other air handler in the home. 3. To be honest, I can't remember. I am a licensed contractor, but not licensed in HVAC. I believe if just typed Broan-NuTone customer service in a search engine...? If you need a contact, you can email us, I have my friendly contact saved, I believe. 4. My friend figured it out. It was so frustrating that I just abandoned the attempt. There are a lot of videos on RUclips that go over how to set it up. It should be very simple, I don't know what i did wrong. 5. After it was all said and done, I am actually quite happy with the installation. The duct work was kind of fun, and I learned a lot!
@@Mountainview-mesa Thank you for the detailed answers. They have been very helpful. We really wanted to do a Zehnder, but it was way out of our price range. You have showed us the Broan 210 can work and is possible to install ourselves as closest dealer is over hour away. As we get closer, we may reach out for a bit more details. Thanks again.
Hey. Nice looking install. What CFM ERV do you have vs what is the output of the CFM performance. For example: I got the 210 CFM, but I get 175 after all my ducting as my max on the ERV.
@michaelsuggett710 Embarassingly, we haven't tested anything yet. We just set it on low flow for now and are trying to get the rest of the house built! The unit is a 210, though.

@@Jerseydevil1921 We had a friend who found these on the discount shelf at Home Depot. I've never seen them on the shelf, but you may ask an employee...?
why didn't you pull the exhaust air out of the return duct work from the HVAC already in the home that pulls from various rooms already? You can also pump the fresh air directly into the return stack right on the other side of the air filter oposite the coils (still on return side). Then you didn't need any of that crazy ducting all thru the home.
had to smile when you were marking the pipe all the way around. Grinder is actually a really good cutting option

How amazing for you! What stage of your build are you in? It means a lot that you noticed our absence, thank you for following along.
Just a couple of days ago I looked to see what had happened to y’all. Glad to see a new video 😊.
Good to see you here, friend!
Highly recommend the AI wall controller, much easier to control the unit at your finger tip.

Yeah mine is the 150
And I get 135 max I believe which is more than adequate for my house.

Neat video. Does it get cold when you folks are? Because apparently you can’t have the intake air too cold at risk of freezing the core.
We are just going into our first winter with it. We'll keep you posted how it goes.
@@Mountainview-mesa good stuff! We’re up in Calgary and I was trying to see when a preheater would be needed
I ran my intake flex duct with no insulation on it as long of a distance as I could and my unit is in conditioned space with a heater under the duct.
I am doubtful the erv which is probably pushing and pulling like 200-300 cfm needs flex at the ends to quiet it down but I am no pro so not sure.
