      1x Isotta Fraschini
      coming in 2024:
      2x Alpine

I am sure people have already commented, but if not allow me. There are two car build formulas LMH and LMDh the “h” does not stand for hybrid, it was never explained what it was. Within WEC all cars be they LMH or LMDh are called Hypercars, and in the IMSA competition they are called GTP. LMH cars can build their own chassis and be 4WD, and have a lot of freedom when it comes to the engine. LMDh cars, which the Peugeot isn’t, it is a LMH car, must use either a Dallara, Multimatic, Oreca or Ligier chassis and use the stock hybrid system which powers the rear wheels only. Aero for both LMDh and LMH cars is restricted, and is tested in the wind tunnel by the governing bodies.

But given all the money, all the access and all the experience... Tom still didn't pronounce Alpine correctly. Then said Balance Of Power regulations, no, BoP is balance of performance because they don't just consider power. They can add or remove weight, change aero etc.

  • @cinimini4854

I hope this kind of regulation will bring out some good competition. Because instead of saying "Here's what you can use, make the fastest car." and the company with the most money/best engineers wins, they say "Your car is supposed to have this much power, can produce this much downforce and needs this kind of drag, now do what the hell you want with it." While it's sad that engineers can't really create some incredible, complex and outside the box technology for a performance advantage they will probably have to optimise other stuff. I'm escited to see what all this will look like at the end.

I've only watched 3 minutes of this video and there's always 3 pieces of misinformation.
    1. The Hypercar/GTP class is a new class within WEC and IMSA. It's not a new series.
    2. You use a one of four chassis if you're using the IMSA LMDh ruleset and I'm pretty sure you couldn't run the 9X8s aerodynamics within it. The Peugeot is a WEC LMH and therefore is free to use any custom chassis within set parameters. It's aerodynamics are completely free in concept but have to fit around the minimum drag and maximum downforce limits.
    3. BOP stands for balance of PERFORMANCE. Not balance of power.
I know this isn't necessarily a Motorsport channel and the whole situation around the Hypercar class in WEC is confusing due to the combining of two different rulesets (IMSA LMDh and WEC LMH) into a class with two different names in two series (Hypercar is WEC and GTP in IMSA) but if you did just a bit more research you wouldn't have made these errors.

That is the longest Eagles clip in the background I've ever seen without a copyright claim on youtube.

2023 and 2024 could be a massive year for Peugeot 9X8 in both WEC and IMSA WSCC.

Well Peugeot has only confirmed their WEC program so far and they couldn't even enter IMSA under the Peugeot banner since they don't sell cars in the US anymore. There are rumors about them entering as Dodge but nothing has been confirmed so far.
