I have just ordered this safe. Despite being a major Wyze fanboy and owing literally dozens of Wyze products, the reason I bought this was not because of its smart features. It was because of the thickness of the steel, the sturdiness of the construction and the quality of the backup key. Most gun safes at this price are of 16ga. steel or thinner. To get a safe with thicker steel than this product, you have to pay double the price of the Wyze gun safe. Also, the hinges and lock clasp are solid and well hidden from outside access. Finally, most key backups on gun safes are cheap and easily picked. The laser cut key on this product is much more pick resistant. Most gun safes would only keep out small children. Properly secured to a firm surface, this safe could provide a decent level of security against opportunistic thieves of any age (but not, of course, against a determined/professional thief).

Thank you for the insight about the steel thickness an pricing. That was not something I had considered when doing my review. I was approaching this as more of a tech review then a safe review. You made some very good points. As you might have seen in the video I compare the Wyze safe to another "safe" I had on hand and can say, yes someone that wanted to get into that one could do it in under a min.

@@Wanderer001_Reviews My pleasure. In my view, the best gun safes are low tech, with push-button Simplex combination locks - a technology around since the 1960s. They are entirely mechanical and thus there is no battery to run down and thus no need for a backup key. However, to get such a safe with steel at least as thick as the Wyze product, you have to pay about $350.

@@pauljenkins6877 I too am a bit of a Wyze fanboy, but I have to tell you that you are wrong. I got the Eufy S10 safe which has 14 gauge steel (14 gauge is thicker than 16 for those who don't know how gauge works) and Wifi capability for the same price.
I like it a lot more and the main reason is that because of the wifi capability I get notified anytime anyone opens the safe or sets off the movement alarm inside of my home regardless of where I am located. If I were at work and some triggered the movement alarm or opened the safe, I would know about it.
