The EX7000 range extender worked great for me....for about a month and a half. Then it died a sudden and horrible death, leaving me with basically no wifi in my home office during a major work project. Thanks, Netgear.
Good extender. With some experimentation I've found the optimisation settings are actually quite important so worth experimenting. Personally, connecting the device to the 2.4ghz signal and outputting 5ghz gave me the best results. If you have any issues in terms of reliability, I found resetting to factory settings and updating the firmware with the latest version (even if it already has it) seemed to solve any issues.
I've been using the Netgear Nighthawk for 3 years and apart from requiring the occasional reboot it works perfectly - the reason for consulting the video was that I'm about to change routers and wanted to ensure that I wouldn't be left in the lurch! As to opening the box - given the quality of some of the comments that may have been necessary advice!
The middle point of my house is 4.8m far away from the AC1900router, the middle point is my room If I use the netgear ex7000, can I receive good WiFi in my room?
Can u teach us how to troubleshoot green flashing light on "device to extender"? Also, I seem to have trouble resetting to factory mode. I tried putting a pin into the "reset" hole for almost 10 seconds, yet it doesn't seem to be reset. Please show us how to successfully reset it to factory mode.
This is an extender - it needs a network router or modem/router combo to connect. Without a router you don't have a network, without a network an extender has nothing to extend.
Can I use this to get a better connection to my hotel wifi? It’s a bit tricky cause I don’t have access to the original router, but there is no password to connect.
I'm not very tech savy. I currently have a dsl set up with windstream. I junked their modem and I'm using a netgear n300. Since this is located in my basement, I'm having issues with signal strength and connecting in bedrooms on second floor of house. This doesn't have a modem on it.......does it? Could I use in the second floor as an access point or should I connect the netgear N300 straight into this in the basement and the strength of signal be strong enough? Are there better options you can think of in my situation? Thank you in advance for advice.
Can I connect this Extender w/o the use of an Ethernet cable? In the demo I saw them connect a blue one, however; I couldn't listen to the audio so i'm lost ...
I found this extended works perfectly. Increased the range in my office incredibly. Also increase the mbps in the room from 10 to 75. I found although the light isn’t green for 5ghz I was still getting 5ghz from it. I think the led may have been broken but apart from that no problem so far
Poor costumer service is right. Ugh. I'm bringing my unit back. The router led lights don't come on, well.. for about 30sec. Pressed the WPS on the extender and router. All the lights go off on the extender. Checked my wifi signal for the mesh - it's not there.
Hello Robert, I just saw your message about connecting your extender to the router via ethernet cable. Currently I have access to the internet when connected like this with cable into the extender. The only problem is I cannot connect my mobile to internet via wifi when connected to the Extender. Any reason for this? Usually if I connect Extender to router via cable, I should be able to have access to internet anytime I connect my mobile onto the Extender via wife, right?
I want to use this in india what kind of changes i made this device.. please help me I just configured and i am able to access internet through wire but iam unable to connect through wifi.

Netgear's tech support really sucks. I havethe ex7000 and a Netgear n300. all I am trying to do is use one as an access point and the other to rebroadcast the wife with a new network ID. Both of these units where bought in the last week. yetwhen I called support I got some guy with an accent from India telling me I have to pay for the support.
Happen to exactly the same. Used for 3 months connection was unstable. Replaced modem: now can't connect anymore. Support guy wanted $ 99 USD for one time clean up my laptop (??????)( Laptop works fine without extender).
Netgear extenders aren't heavy enough to work. Paper weights need some heft. Tech support hacks have connect problems with phone support, they must use Netgear phones as they dropout and disconnect while they talk into their head gear. The antennas on the extenders are are dummy loads with negative gain so you can't scavenge the parts. The electronics inside are likely assembled during a monsoon because they put them together in Vietnam sweatshops even during lightening blasts. the high wattage output on their marketed increase output wattage routers are 0.1 watt increase from the minimum 0.5 watt what minimum on a good stock amp.The FFC allows 1.0 watt output. Their quality control is so loose the power output with a after market 9 dbi gain antenna measures negative numbers. Spectrum analysis shows frequency deviation that made me cry and laugh at the same time. It isn't physically possible to make a worse product. I found one good quality, you can throw them very far and they scatter like thin glass and make a guttural sound causing a reflexive uncontrollable laugh.
Utter nonsense! Obviously, you're a competitor or just incompetent. My ex7000 has been working exceptionally for over 4 years now in my pole barn 200 feet from the router and through 5 windowless walls. I'm here to help a friend who bought one at a yard sale and I needed to know which buttons to push first for the WPS. You're here to troll!

Absolutely agree with regard your comment on the "comments." Mensa members have no fear here.
Will the extender only work with a router, how about a cable modem?
I don’t see the EXT name show up but the instructions say it uses the same name without the EXT is that true ?
Unbox first?
Damn... that was my mistake.
SAVAGE XD
🤣🤣🤣
I accidently skipped the antenna part, thought they were fancy chopsticks!
Hahahh
So how do I check to see if the extender is not broken ..when the power on ..any light will be on?

Netgear has very poor customer service . Their website was very buggy when I set up my extender. Next time I will try another brand .
No shit, it is terrible to say the least!
U can connect these to modems too right?

Can I use ethernet cables with the EX7000 range extender setup as a wifi range extender (not access point)?
My lights don't turn on! While I do the WPS thing it won't connect
V-Studios Man i have the same problem, it worked for you?

+joshua casey Yes you can. Thats how I have mine setup. It gives youoption to run as extender or access point.
+Robert Ortiz thank you

What's the house coverage using the NETGEAR N300 OR N600? I have a 1200 sq foot home. Thank you.
Is this router good if you leave it in your basement ? The house in total 3 floors (including basement)
what if the 5GHz is not shining?
Chase0nCheese I’m having the same problem
@@TheJermaineJae i think thats only for 5G networks (NETGEAR69-5G for example)

Can I use this as a router?

I had the same experience, says he needs 140$$
worked for me thanks
I use the wps and My speed went feom 450-500 to like 100
wow my speed actually became less than not using the extender
You forgot one thing, You need to buy it first, then unbox it.
Not helpful. The extender is not connecting to the router, no matter how many times I try it.
First unbox it.......well duh
damn that was easy
Lol this extender is for sure good with ps4 shows it in vid
JxtheHyena mine just knocks the wifi out when i connect them with the wps button. awesome brand. #FuckNetgear
