bless you! apparently I bought the printer with one genuine and one extra none genuine toner, the battery die out as you said -> I swapped between the two chips and everything works now! thank you.
Hello! Got the same error message initially and followed what you did, IT WORKED! I swapped the chip from the original brother cartridge. Mind you, seems like the original chip did not have any battery built into it. Also just wondering if the chops are colour specific? In this instance i swapped the chip magenta for magenta. But in the future, will it still work if let’s say i use a chip from yellow cartridge and put it in a magenta cartridge?
Thanks, great video as always! Are you sure though that replacing the battery won't fix the chip? Just asking because I've read from multiple people (and saw a YT video) that they were able to replace the batteries in their non-genuine toner cartridges of other Brother colour laser printers (i.e. HL-L3270CDW, MFC-L3730CDN and others using TN-243/247 toners) and the toner cartridges started to work normally again for them (= no more error messages like "no toner" or "cannot detect"). Of course those are completely different printers and toner cartridges than the mono laser printers this video is about... Maybe some non-genuine toner cartridge chips can be fixed by changing the battery, while others can't. In this case it might be worth a try to change the battery. Either it'll fix the chip or it won't, but there's no harm in trying, I guess.
People changing the batteries on the chips have misdiagnosed the actual cause their problem. Their Videos are simply showing them getting lucky not solving the actual cause.

Worked like a charm. Thanks very much.

You are a good man, much better than Brother. Thanks mate.
Thanks. What I learned today: battery can go dead, most likely after blackout. Just had a blackout. Coincidence? Haha. Thanks.
Thanks mate❤
