Make one of the Miis the opposite gender. You can still have Miis that the game reads as attracted to males and still have masculine features. the only bad thing is in the begging they're wearing a skirt, but you can change their clothes to the gender you identify them with, and they can have a man's voice even if your 3ds registers that mii as a female and vice versa. So yes in a way you can still have Gay Miis.
Gay romance is going to be a thing in the sequel. the thing is, when the dev company caught a glitch very late in development that crashed and broke game copies involving something along the line of gay romance and there was controversy over it. the company immediately said something like "we weren't aware that there was a demand for gay romance, but as it is too late to add that feature in the game as it would require reworking and redesigning the game engine. unfortunately it can not be a feature in this version of Tomodachi Life." But then they then went on to say something like "However, the fact that we could not include gay romance in the game is a shame and it will be included in the sequel." so don't get your pantaloons in a wad, bucko. problem solved, move on. :)

I'm Christian, and I have no problem what-so-ever with homosexuals and I think its annoying how its not in the game, and I know people who aren't religious at all who are anti-gay.
