Dreamcatcher is really good at storytelling so I think I personally like the song because it feels like it’s starting an exciting adventure at the beginning, then backs up to tell you how they got there and catches back up at the chorus. It very much just feels like reading a book to me.
"Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell, representing nature. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right? My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity). SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace. The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal. Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. I probably won't have to tell anyone that the visuals here are out of this world. I'm going to say it anyways: The members have never looked more beautiful, and the whole team all deserve a raise!
I don't think I've listened to the rest of destruction so I'll have to go back and check them out. I mean the way humans treat the earth is pretty poor. To be fair they're probably not far wrong, we're not the first cycle of life on this planet and I'm pretty sure we won't be the last. I do agree the earth needs peace and nature needs time to heal, I think the whole world knows that too but a lot of people just don't care which is sad. Anyway I don't want to get too deep in to it all right now lol but thank you so much for your comment, it's actually very insightful!
Thanks for reacting to Dreamcatcher's Bonvoyage! I know some people can find the rock transitions they do jarring if you're not used to listening to music that blends rock with other genres. I think it's one of those things that gets easier to digest the more you listen to it. With that said, you may find that you like their b-sides more as they are often more genre focused and a large portion of them have no rock influences at all. If you'd like a few recommendations to that show a different side to Dreamcatcher, here are a few you can check out. This is just small sampling of different genres found in DC's catalog. They also have songs that are EDM, Jazz, Funk, Reggae, Pop, and much more. Red Sun - This is a b-side from the Dystopia: The Tree of Language album. There is a special clip on their channel that is a performance video. Black or White - This is a b-side from the same album as red sun. There is a really cool performance video for this on the Dingo Music channel. This song is an homage to Michael Jackson's song of the same name. Wonderland - This is a b-side from the Alone in the City album and has R&B vibes. This has a special clip on their channel as well. Break the Wall - This is a b-side from the Dystopia: Lose Myself album and is very alt rock. There's a live showcase version on Andrew Lee's YT channel that I've seen people react to without issue. Sleep-Walking - This is a b-side from the album Prequel and it has a special clip on their channel as well. Enjoy!
Oh I absolutely love rock, I just wasn't expecting it, as it came around for the second time it sounded so much better, probably because I knew it was coming. I've listened to other Dreamcatcher songs in the past and they've always been incredible, but you've mentioned some songs of theirs that I've not heard so I'll have to go and check them out. Thank you so much for your comment!
@@bradreacts90No Problem. They also just released a special clip for one of the b-sides from their most recent album. The choreography was done by the main dancer Sua and the video is really good, if you want to check it out. It's called Damien Special Clip and it's on their YT channel.
dreamcatcher \:D/ they do have more 'conventional' songs but it's their unconventional ones that set them apart. I know where you are coming from if you mostly listen to western music which for the most part is more linear. it may not click for everyone but once it clicked for me I find their music dynamic so much so that it almost makes traditional song structures seem monotone and in some cases, boring lol.
I think my initial reaction to the "rock" section is because i just really wasn't expecting it. When it came back around for the second time it worked really well. They definitely don't follow the traditional song structure but I think they make it work really well

They are very good at storytelling, which is one of the key components to making great music, or a great video, or a great book.
