Nice Emerger Mr.Clark ! I like the "Parachute" wing style patterns early in the year. The Wife and I drove over to Wyoming early this morning and got in a whole day on the Wind River below Boysen Reservoir. The Trout were a little sluggish early in the morning but the action picked up from about 9 a.m. on. We had a great day with each of us catching our limit and I caught and released one very spectacular Bull Brown Trout that nearly equaled my personal best for Brown Trout, it truly was a glorious day on the Wind River. Thanks Again for all the fantastic how to videos. Your Friends from the Old West, Randy & Tracie Hill.
Hi Randy, thanks. Yes like many emerger patterns you can adjust and adapt them. Remove the Krystal flash and give it a parachute hackle and it will float all day long.
Been watching your videos for a while. I am still pretty new to tying as do not get to tie much now but your bobbing and thread control is dang nice as well as your control of scissors. As usual another great tie!
Hi Terry, thanks, so pleased that you are enjoying them, if you are pretty new to tying may I suggest my most recent book: ruclips.net/video/mVLof0uXqyE/видео.html
Hi Barry Great pattern. I have a question for you! As I am 65 years old and my eyes are not what they used to be. When I make small flies I have a lot of trouble seeing what I do, even if I have a magnifying lamp. I'd like to know what way you have to make your little flies if you need a visual aid.
Excellent pattern, Barry I have a question, I have no finger prints and my finger tips always feel as if they have silicon on. Dubbing is a major problem. I gave tried waxes and easy dub not been much help. Any suggestions?
Thanks John, yes, take a little square of rough sand paper and fold it so the sand paper is on both sides, hold it in one hand while you grip it with your index finger and thumb and rub them up and down a few times. It works a treat!
Nice Midge BOC, thanks. Just curious, was the intent to add robustness/strength by tying three (3) CDC separately as oppose to stacking CDC for a consolidated tie down?
WHAAAAAAAAATTT...... THAT is an @$$ kicking fly ... simple but technical ! ok so you ask me Jeff what do you mean by this oxymoron? my answer is though not complicated in materials and tying methods, when combined it becomes a refined tie. For example tying in the cdc though you make it look easy and show a very important method of layering the feathers in (technique 2, the touching turns and rib is 1) it is not as easy as you make it look, your noodle has to be correct from the beginning, or your bulk build up may or may not work, the sparkle wing is a deliberate step before continuing the noodle, and then you have to get it right (correct) in front of the wing... super super cool pattern .. i can see with some relaxed patience i can probably pull off this fly.. This is a very good lesson on a few levels... that is if you take a good look... THANK YOU AGAIN.. i learned a lot.. J
I think I’m becoming a BOC addict. It’s helped me tremendously. TY.
Thank you, thats the goal...
BOCitus Lol!

Thanks John, hope you enjoy it.
Nice and good little fly for start season Barry. You show to tie this fly very slowly ist' very nice. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it Bruno.
Ohhhh LOVE this pattern, love it, excellent tie and a must have box stuffer. Two thumbs WAY up, thanks. L 👍👍🎣👍👍
Thanks again!
I tied this one and worked beautifully with the grailing. In very flat water. Thanks indeed¡¡
Great to hear Oscar, Thanks.
I’ve always have said that you know a fly will be a great fish catcher if while tying it your mouth waters 😋
It sure is! Thanks Leonard.
Good tying, handy wee fly to have in your box.🎣🎣
You got that right!
Cool pattern Barry. You can never have enough midge patterns in your box..anytime..anywhere! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Darryl, look forward to seeing you soon.
Great fly Barry, looks killer.
Thanks Stan.
I’ve been gone for a while but glad to be back. Can’t wait to tie this one today.
Thanks Greg!
Really nice and appealingly simple looking.
Thank you! 😊 Andrew.
Excellent emerger. Congratulations from Argentina.
Gracias Diego!
I love these morning tying lessons
Thank you Jimmy.
I like simplicity! Great fly Barry! Just got back from the flyshop now a quick nap and tying!!
Thanks Kerry, have a great day.
Very nice sir! I love the simple little flies, I swear they seem to fish much better than a complicated fly to me.
You got that right!
Another quality ty. Thank you. Tight lines🐜🪰!!!!!
Thank you.
Another really lovely fly!!! I’ll add a few to my cripples and palominos. All the best from Vienna!!!
Thank you.
Nice tie, Barry. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you James.
Reminds me quite a bit of your SBT
Great looking fly as always
Thanks S, Its actually a variant on a pattern called, Krystal flash midge emerger that uses a foam wing.
Wonderful midge pattern and I'll certainly tie a few of these for my local river. Love the detailed flat and profile threaded body. Thank you!
Thanks Colm, good luck with it.
Nice emerger 👌🎣😉
Merci Simon!
That's terrific. Really easy. I'll tie a couple of rows of those today. The new season approaches. Phwoar!
Thanks D, good luck with them.
Love it🤩Tanks Barry👍
Thanks Anders.
Felicitaciones Barry.
Grazie Daniel, May I suggest: ruclips.net/video/mVLof0uXqyE/видео.html
@@Thefeatherbender Muchas gracias, saludos.
I tried the same pattern yesterday!
Excellent.
Great emerger pattern. Thank you for this :)
Thanks Niwel.

@@Thefeatherbender mine came in Tuesday I have been reading it
Very good, Like Mercers Missing Link Fly I believe that the horizontal wing is a key component with just a little flash.
Thanks Gary, yes but I think Mercers has a deer hair wing if I remember correctly.
@@Thefeatherbender Yes it does. I’m referring to the sparkle horizontal wing that sits down catches the trouts eye.
Hello my Friend! Good job!
Thank you.
Hi Barry! Greetings fro Oregon. What type/brand of cdc do you use?
Hi Martin, I use CDC from Trout Line and Veniard lovely natural stuff.
Hi Barry
Great pattern.
I have a question for you! As I am 65 years old and my eyes are not what they used to be. When I make small flies I have a lot of trouble seeing what I do, even if I have a magnifying lamp. I'd like to know what way you have to make your little flies if you need a visual aid.
Hi Pierre, Yes I have the same problem. I use a head set called Mega View, and they where distributed by Tiemco when I bought mine.
Thank you I buy it and I think this will help me. I just have to stay in place, if I want to have a good focus. Thanks again!
what are you using for your camera set up?
Studio lighting and a Eos 1D Mk lV.
Nice flexible pattern, I assume decrease the number of CDC feathers as you get smaller. Thanks Barry
Thanks Lee. Yes or depending on how dense your individual CDC hackles are.
Excellent pattern, Barry I have a question, I have no finger prints and my finger tips always feel as if they have silicon on. Dubbing is a major problem. I gave tried waxes and easy dub not been much help. Any suggestions?

@@Thefeatherbender thank you Barry, I'll try that later, much cheaper than wax as well
Прекрасная и рабочая мушка !!! Спасибо !!!
Thank you.
Barry, how would you feel about using dyed CDC for aiding visibility on smaller patterns?
Hi Rebecca, Thats fine, I actually tie this one with two natural and one white CDC for when I'm fishing in low light conditions.
Could I use antron in replace of 1 cdc for visability
What is the purpose of tying in the cdc separate?
Hi Dale, you'll find it much easier to match up the tips of each hackle, than tying them all in at once.
Nice Midge BOC, thanks. Just curious, was the intent to add robustness/strength by tying three (3) CDC separately as oppose to stacking CDC for a consolidated tie down?
Ciao Enzo, no I just find its easier to get the tips level rather than stacking them.
@@Thefeatherbender Super, thanks Barry. Great video as always.
Спасибо за новые приемы, совмещение простого с генеральным.
Thank you.
Would you do any color variations on this?
Hi Greg, all the usual, but my favourites are black, red and grey.
Всё гениальное просто
Thank you.

Великолепно 🤝👍
Thank you.
Cool pattern, original? Or is it pinched from Geoff Johnston of: THE EDEN ANGLER
Hi, No it's actually a variation of an old pattern called a Krystal flash midge emerger that uses foam instead of CDC.
@@Thefeatherbender Amazing, he ties it EXACTLY the same.
Fabulous pattern. I may have to quit watching because of financial restraint. I need more fly boxes!
Thanks John, Shhhhhh!
