Well actually Kiera Jayne. Michael is speaking with an english accent. Have you heard when Lucy Lawless speaks. That is a NZ accent. Michael was born in England. But I read while back...he was raised in NZ. See I was born in the UK...raised in Ca.
I am currently living in the UK and I have a VERY good ear for accents ( many times I understand where people came from better than English people). MH 's accent is clearly influenced by New Zealand. Perhaps to a New Zealander it may not be obvious, but to someone living in the UK it's very clear that there are things in his accent that do not come from England.
@James Beattie He may have been born in England, but he still has a Kiwi accent. Just like how Olivia Newton-John and John Farnham were born in England as well and Jimmy Barnes was born in Scotland, but they all have Aussie accents.
KieraJayne. Well maybe. To some british born. English accent and NZ accent can almost be the same accent. I was born in England myself. Southampton to be precise. But unfortunately. Raised in Ca. In the whole UK...there are several various accents. Several displacent of accents. I myself talk with a heavy cockney. Olivia she was born in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. Raised in Australia. So was the BeeGee's. But I guess english accent is same as NZ accent. At least to me it is...and to those british born. And I can probably say about NY accents. Some accents confuses me.
I have traveled a lot around Europe and UK and have also been exposed to a lot of American and Canadian people throughout my life, so on a listening level, I can hear different regional accents, I just don't always know WHICH region they are from. Lol. I am no good at spotting different Asian accents, though. A good way to tell if someone is Kiwi, though: Get them to say fish and chips (NZ person will pronounce them Fush & Chups), decking (dicking), dead (deid), red (reid), they also tend to say "sweet as, bro" (Sweet ais, bra) a lot. :P
Some of you in here are right. But few are definitely not. Michael Hurst was born in England. And yes was raised in NZ. Like Olivia Newton John. She was born in England...raised in Australia. I was born in Southampton England. But raised in Ca. Like I said. Some are right. And some not.
By the goddess, what ambition!

You were born for this.

I think he was born in Great Brittan, but moved to New Zealand when he was really young and became a citizen.

Nobody seen him as Vexicus in PR Ninja Storm?
