But in the end, the guy in the shadows (the slaughter reference) is the one running the whole show, the one who led everyone in there. that's why the singer is surprised that his hand seems to be acting against his will, obviously the shadow guy is the real conductor. that's why you have to always know who's in control & make sure that it is YOU

Brand New's lyrics seem more grown up than Taking Back Sunday, and their songwriting style is more varied and complex. I still enjoy Taking Back Sunday, but Brand New wins for musical quality.

@BrAcEdz lol, TBS is just a few notches behind. Brand New stayed in the pop-punk area for two albums (debut and this one), and then they actually progressed into something new. Better? Most people will say yes with TDAG. But the point is, they haven't remained stagnant within a genre. (And even though I don't like TBS much, I can acknowledge that they're pretty good and that most people say Tell All Your Friends is a classic in the genre)
