  • In this video we take a look at how too play some of the main riffs in the song Gods Of War by Def Leppard. This is a great song off of Hysteria and has a lot of interesting guitar textures and parts. Steve Clark and Phil Collen (along with Mutt Lange) created a masterpiece with this piece of music. I hope you find the lesson informative and helpful and gets you to playing and riffing soon! Please subscribe!

'Gods Of War' is my favourite DEF LEPPARD song. There are so many layers of guitars. Steve CLARK doesn't get enough recognition for his important contributions to DEF LEPPARD. 'Animal' is another song that has so many beautiful sections and guitar parts. 'Hysteria' remains my favourite DEF LEPPARD studio album. I remember reading an interview with Chris DeGARMO in Guitar For The Practicing Musician where Chris mentions how 'Hysteria' influenced and inspired the writing sessions and recording of QUEENSRŸCHE's 'Operation: MindCrime'.

You are a beast of a player for sure! But yeah - killer tune. Killer tone. And a stunning Les Paul you've got there. Rock on, and Happy New Year, Brother!
