You are essentially the founders of a new village. Through your charisma alone you are drawing people into your circle to renew an ancient town.
I was also impressed by the using their channel to create an intentional community that is inclusive not exclusive. I live in the the US state of Rhode Island where too many people oppose building new affordable housing for fear of property values declining and living near outsiders. Luca, Sara, and Luce are modeling and living how these conditions can strengthen and restore communities. Inspiring for more to follow your example elsewhere .

They are really a nightmare on the community!
What they are doing is making it difficult for locals to be able to live there daily.
Bringing to light their community, is enticing tourists, yeah which is good but due to the influx of people now coming in, shops and restaurants raise their prices to profit from the influx, but the locals end up paying the price as well!
And judging by what the town looks like, I hardly believe they can afford much!
So think before you speak!
These two are nauseating and so fake!
And look into their past, to find out who they really are!!
So you erase my last message, because you don’t want people to know what you are really are doing!
You two are causes the locals who live there to have to pay higher prices, as your opening the doors to foreigners to go there, in turn having shops and restaurants jacking their prices up to gauge the tourists, and the locals as well!!
Sara and Luca! You are fakes and portray a phony life style!
Instead of taking care of Lucas health as he almost died, you go and buy more property and renovations so he could work more!
Sara has serious control issues.
And Luca just a yes man!
And the child a brat!
It is so wonderful to see these ancient traditions carried on by the next generation ...like a golden thread binding everyone together in a beautiful and respectful culture of life and family. 💜💗🤎❤🔥🙏

It’s so lovely to see the festivals in your village! The kitchen is in no way a makeover fail! It’s going to look amazing, and having plain coloured tiles will make the richness of the floor colour sing!
What a difference the white makes on the tiles! Perhaps you could use a paint product on the floor tiles too!

It’s good you started with grey for the kitchen tiles because grey is the base color to use to cover any color and then paint the color of your choice. You are such a positive couple, it’s a joy to follow your ‘adventures’.

It warms my heart to see so many people celebrating in the village. There's still a sense of community that goes beyond the day today, but continues traditions that are probably hundreds of years old.
Luce is such a lucky girl!

Are all the parade participants local? If so, that is a lot of localized talent! Thanks for sharing all that, as it is great to see the community cohesiveness. Kitchen is going to be so unique. I appreciate your efforts to stay true to the era as much as you can. Little Miss is just adorable and you are doing a great job with her. Clean energy your way for everyone's health!
@@itsnancytimeitsnancytime8317 Living in Spain, these village events tend to be organized and attended by local families; oftentimes 2-3 generations. Depending on the size, location and wider popularity, neighboring residents might attend. In the mix there might be expats and tourists.
What I love is that many of these traditions have been happening for hundreds of years and the reason is that they do the event the same way each time and they include the children in the preparations and celebration (hence the multi-generational aspect).
In the US, small towns are similar but in general, not based on a religious or pagan tradition and oftentimes there's a hint of "how can we top last year".
There's a magic to observing these antique traditions as they are today. It's like stepping back in time.
Most of all, the collective joy is contagious.
Moving my daughter and I out of the US has been the best choice I've ever made.
It warms my heart to watch this very special, young Italian family essentially return to their roots which in turn, helps keep history (and their village) alive!
There are many communities in America that celebrate traditional Catholic feast-days ...you just have to look for them. Polish, Irish, Spanish/Mexican communities come to mind ...once in California I went to a celebration of the return of the birds/swallows to Capistrano ...very beautiful. There is even a song about it. Also I've been to many Greek festivals, and Lebanese Christian festivals.
PS. Pray for the Christians of the Middle East!
@@kindlydude True -- we had Greek, Portuguese, Mexican, Salvadoran, Asian, South Asian, etc. events in CA but we find them completely different -- disconnected and even segregated from the overall community (even with a lot of marketing).
Celebrations in many European cities, towns and villages (particularly in the more traditional areas around the Mediterranean) explode with festivity -- old and young prepare together (sometimes all year long), they organize and socialize as one community, regardless of race, religion, color orientation or heritage. It's just simpler and more unified here and hard to explain if you haven't lived it.
A native of CA, one of the most diverse states in the union, there are lots of "cultural events" and patriotic celebrations, but in where we live now, well, it's an entirely different thing -- and a different feeling. Even onlookers belong.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter where we are; we can celebrate, be communal and proud, but I do encourage anyone who is able to get out and see how other people live!
The Saint Days may be a little noisy but it is good to see so many people still support such traditions. Seeing such a large band, and so many young people is encouraging that your village and its area is not so bereft of local families as many other villages are. Thanks for showing us a little of traditional Scicilian life as well as your own progresses.

I am glad to see your family is doing well. I was telling my neurologist about you and he explained that Duke Health (Duke University Hospital) has a specialty group dedicated to CSF patients who have not had success with traditional blood patches. I was lucky that my blood patches worked, but some people don’t have a pinpoint leak, but rather a tear. Duke is rated no. 1 for CSF leaks, especially those that have not responded to traditional treatments. They have a terrific team for international patients too! Good luck!

What a beautiful kitchen transformation. It’s coming along so well. I love how the cats know when Luce is around as they swarm around waiting for her to come visit and feed them ❤.

Which she only wore partially at one point because it became too hot and difficult to breathe. Also, being pregnant and having a young child in the home, it's not good to be in an environment where the chemicals in these products will be off gassing for quite some time. They linger much longer than one realizes. I hope they keep all windows regularly open for a long time. I sincerely hope the air flow in the home is good-for all of their sake. My head was spinning when they were using acid solution and other mixes on those floors. I really wish they would avoid these products. The floor in the kitchen should have been left alone or replaced. Just not worth it. And you didn't need to do that toxic polish on those other tiles in the living room. I owned a house in Sicily. The tiles were very similar to those of the living room in their videos. I would just damp mop. They didn't have that bright polished finish/sheen, but they were still lovely. And one floor I just replaced, sometimes it is best to cut your losses. Not everything is salvageable, and first and foremost, your family's health is paramount. I love watching your videos and admire (mostly) what you are doing but please please limit exposures to toxic products in your living environment by forgoing use of these products. Also, that scented pine tree "air freshener" in your vehicle, I recommend you get rid of it. It's not good , especially for a developing fetus and a young child whose reproductive system is still developing. If you don't believe me look up Dr. Anne C. Steinemann. I wish you all well. I took the time to compile this out of concern and good intent. Kind regards.

Painting the tiles was a good decision at this time. Got to get your kitchen ready and working before the baby comes!
I think the painting destroys the original beautiful tiles. I just don't get it. This beautiful family who loves tradition and want to keep the original style make this decision. Anyway they gonna live there and see it every day.
These were not original wall tiles, but added probably in the 70s, hence the painting over. They are keeping the old floor tiles and adding ceiling treatment in keeping with the age of the property.@@suzannaszarka4290

Oh I bet the reed ceiling will look complimentary to the building. It's always fascinating to me as an American when centuries old religious traditions are still alive in Italy and Sicily even when most modern people don't actively attend church. I realize that I could be totally wrong about it. Thank you for showing us the parades and customs.

Papa and I have just set through 6 episodes to get to the one today. We are so impressed with the determination and will your family has for making your village a wonderful place to live. We are both southerners, live 11 miles from the Gulf and would love to buy a house in your village. We would need a flat road and a ground floor apt. or house. Can you make that happen for us? We have been married 50 years, have 3 daughters 7 grown grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren over the age of 5. We have fallen in love with Lucia ,she is adorable.. We love y'all! Ciao

Loved the festivals. Sicily is on my bucket list. When I visited Italy I lived in Cava dei Terreni close to Salerno. We did the wine festivals all along the Amalfi coast. Ate far too much & slept far too little but loved every minute of the 14 day holiday.

When we looked for a ‘cream’ white to paint, I was overwhelmed with how many shades of white there are at the paint store!
