If anyone doesn’t believe Jesus is God, then I don’t understand how you think you’re saved. The Holy Spirit resides in true believers, and as such he will reveal to you the truth that Jesus IS GOD.

You picked up on one of my favourite sections of Thomas and Jesus not rebuking him. Near the end at 4:23 you say that Jesus as a mere man, his death would only be sufficient to pay for his own sins. Was that a mistake? Can I die on a cross to have my sins paid for? Am I missing something?
Yes you could die for your own sins, but you would be permanently dead. The same for Jesus if He were a mere man, which is the intended meaning.
@@deanfry879 It just takes a look from a different angle. I guess it's all semantics. Die 'for' my sins or die because of my sins. I thought he was saying that Jesus' death as a man would have given him alone eternal life. I'm getting old; thank you for the explanation.

Yeah, not buying it. It's the one question the nuns couldn't answer, nor your answers. How can God be in Mary's uterus for 9 mths (Though, I have my own theory regarding births in general.) & still be in Heaven? Who was Jesus talking to while on the cross? "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do." "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." How does Jesus sit at the right hand of His Father if he is the Father? How can God & Jesus be one person/being? How can God live as a man on earth for 33yrs? How can God give His one & only begotten son if He is the son? I don't buy into the "divine mystery" theory, nor if I were a true believer I'd just accept it as fact. No, I think accepting it as fact when it makes no sense is falling for deception. I don't know which one of us is right, but my thinking is more logical. If someone could provide facts one way or the other to persuade me that would be great. I'm 62 & have been asking this question since I was about 6-7 yrs old.

One example from Scripture is 1 Corinthians ch 15 verses 23-28 (particularly verse 28).

The same could be said the other way around. If He didn’t say directly in the Bible that He isn’t God, then He is God. Do you see how that argument doesn’t work?

Jesus is a prophet, yes. Not sure why you think this doesn’t prove Jesus is God or why you feel the constant need to say “peace be upon him” but let’s see what you said.
Mark 10:18 Jesus is not denying being God, He was asking if the person who called Him good really understood what was being implied. Not to mention, Jesus refers to Himself as the Good Shepherd.
Mark 12:29. The Lord our God is one Lord. No biblically intelligent person is claiming there is more than one True God.
Mark 13:32 This is a good one! To understand this, you need to understand what the incarnation is. There were certain aspects of God’s divine nature that were willingly veiled when He took on human form. Like if you put on a blindfold but are not actually blind. Paul speaks of the incarnation later in the New Testament.
Matthew 4:10 No denial of divine nature here.
Matthew 21:11 the crowds are not recorded saying peace be upon him, but as far as calling him a prophet, is not a denial of his divine nature.

John 4:19 The woman perceives Him to be a prophet, but she has not yet learned who He really is yet. Read the rest of that chapter.
John 5:30 God the Son is being submissive and obedient to God the father. The two roles are different but it is not a denial of divinity.

John 10:29 this has to do with the nature of the incarnation and the different roles each play

A prophet of God by definition is not divine. So calling a prophet of God as divine is a logical fallacy.
Historically the Christ (peace be upon him) never claimed divinity because he was a Jew.

So when a Jehovah's Witness comes to your door and claims that Jesus was a created being and not God, you can make these statements: Jesus Himself claimed to be God. (You can use the examples in this great video) If Jesus is a created being then there are only 3 possibilities. 1) Jesus was delusional, mentally ill and belongs in an asaylsium. 2) Jesus was evil and a deceiver. he deliberately lied to people about being God. 3) He is who He claimed to be. Then you can ask the JW which one they think is true.
Did the historical Jesus claim he was God? No but he did believe he was the Messiah and Son of God (Son of God being a term applied to the ancient Kings of Israel) and believed God would come down make him king which ultimately got him executed.
You do know that the Gospel accounts actually are considered pieces of historical evidence, right? The reliability of these as historical accounts, is even recognized by atheist scholars and historians. In fact, they are even more reliable then most documents we have about all major ancient individuals in history. Alexander the Great for instance ... Cleopatra... Take your pick. How do you think do we know so much about their lives, or how do we get historical accounts of their lives? Ancient documents.... The closer they were written to the time they were alive, the more reliable they are. You'll find, that the New Testament accounts are very reliable historical accounts of Jesus, If you take the time to do your proper research.
Jesus never said he was god, nor was he implying that he is God, you are implying this, Jesus said, he was the son of God he is one with God this does not make him god. You misconstrued the scriptures.
So, the Jews of Jesus's days on earth also misconstrued the Scriptures when they picked up stones to stome Him?

Jesus is the Son of God, not Yahweh. Jesus is God's one and only Son. The Father is greater than the Son. Let's stick God's Word please.

@@kimberlylawson1614 Not really. He is using the word God here to mean Yahweh. And Jesus never claimed to be Yahweh. Yahweh is the Father. Yeshua is the Son, Jesus Christ. There is one God, the Father (Yahweh) and one Lord, Jesus Christ (Yeshua).
