I've been waiting to comment until I've secured a Norden. I was lucky enough to find a holdover 2023 for $12,600. Your videos are invaluable and thank you so much for your efforts. I cannot think of another youtuber that provides very comprehensive information in such an engaging fashion. My primary ADV bike has for several years been a Himalayan which I plan to retain as it continues to be a wonderful workhorse of a bike. But your videos have helped me settle on the Norden as the perfect addition. Thanks again!
I traded my BMW R 1200 GSA for one of these, after watching your videos. What a load of weight off of me! I’m 70 years old, and I need something lighter. This bike is perfect for me. I’ve owned BMWs for decades. It’s hard to leave that brand. I’ve also owned a Tiger 800. I was disappointed with the Tiger and only kept it 6 months or so. I know, it wasn’t a 900. So far, I love everything about this bike. I found it in Kansas with only 261 miles on it. And I got it for under $12,999! 🤠🤠 Thanks for your informational videos. You’re a big factor in me buying it.
Superb content Ian, great job!!! The manufacturers really need to up their game when it comes to wind management. Wind noise and buffeting are a huge complaint with way too many adv bikes. Nothing is more debilitating on a 300-400 mile day. The engineers need to overrule the marketing people and get wind management sorted.
Husky does have a tall touring screen coming out supposedly may (in europe ) hopefully it will actually work. I'm 6'3" and have a norden on order. I expect the windscreen and high footpegs to be the biggest hurdles with this bike to get it to work for us tall folks
That's one thing I just don't understand. Maybe they think there's no one solution for it because potential customers could be 5'6'' or 6'6'' and no one screen would cover both of these customers. Maybe they could have a low/high screen in the option box when you buy it.
Every Ktm/Husqvarna I have had, had poor wind-protection. I dont think they pay it much attention. All bmw`s I`ve owned, had execelent wind protection…
Just discovered this morning that my Norden 901 also is leaking cooling fluid. It will be picked up (my dealer is just 5 km away) and hopefully repaired asap. Thanks for all the detailed video's on the Norden 901. Keep up the great work!
A little late to the game but I just took delivery of my 901 today... it took me a long time and a lot of research to make a decision on which ADV bike to buy and your reviews and videos on this (and other) ADV bikes are super valuable. Thank you! Oh, and I love my new Norden! It's such a great bike, I did some highway, backroad, and dirt road riding on day one and it just does everything I ask it to without complaint in a composed and predictable manor. I made the right choice and you helped get me there.
Got my Tenere 700 last spring. Wish this bike would have been available then. Dont get me wrong, I love my Tenere 700, but this bike is sooooo appealing. I want to know how she feels on a proper 500-700 mile day. I may be taking the 700 on a planned 7k mile ride this summer.
As always, a brilliant, unbiased & honest review. I am thinking (but only thinking at this stage) of upgrading from my 790R to either the 890R or the Norden, so please keep up the great reviews. I value your opinions, because, as I said, they are totally honest & unbiased
Thank you for your awesome Norden series! I am currently riding a 1200 GS and have seen some very discounted new 2024 901s in my area. I am seriously considering jumping into the mid size market and this series has greatly helped my decision!
im in florida and have 700 miles on mine so far. between 20-40 mph the engine heat gets blown directly on your legs and it can get pretty hot. none at stop and none really above 40 mph, but if you’re cruising at 30 on a gravel road for a while it can start getting to you. wishing there we some form of deflectors in front of knees…
Regarding seat height - i am only 5'8" with a 29 inseam, so getting feet on the ground is tough. But i wont give up this bike, the 901, its great! So i decided to take the seat to an upholstery company and they reworked it, shaved it down, narrowed t , brought in the sides a bit, like cinching a persons waist, and now the balls of my feet are on the ground. Big improvement. Still plenty of cushion on top for the backside but The seat is not as fully padded as it was from the factory. For the short rides ( 30 min- 2 hrs ) has not had much of an impact on comfort in its new form. Will have to see if any impact on the long rides - but i doubt it as they molded the seat to let the legs fall down closer to the bike and lower on the seat.
Hi Ian……thanks for the videos. I am becoming a consistent viewer because of the unbiased quality of the work. The QA session on the Norden is great. I have an 890 Rally and love it. I now own a Norden 901 and love it the same. I did put the same suspension on the 901 that is on the Rally. It is truly the same bike in every way with the new suspension. There is literally no difference in the motorcycles at this point.
This bike is so great and I'm slowly getting past the Wazowski headlight on the front. Anxious to see how reliable it is over the next year or so. Thanks for putting so much info out there for us.
@@edithdriver2094 well ive had many KTM's and a wide range of different experiences as well but i tried hard i mean very hard to talk myself into the Yamaha T7 i wanted to like it and buy one figuring at the base price i could throw loads of $ aftermarket at it , have 2 friends with them so ive ridden them stock and with some aftermarket both , just cant do it 1 oif the 2 guys i know with them has his already for sale says it feels like the softest slowest bike he has ever had and he waited for almost a year to get his while collecting thousands of aftermarket parts for it and sold it with less than 3000 miles , the other guy it is his 3rd bike ever the first 2 being KLR650 & CRF250 so his frame of reference is different ....... anyway i dont think you can call any motorcycle boring but its the closest i experienced , sorry just 1 dudes honest opinion
I have to say, I got my Norden 901 last week and I am so impressed with it. This is my first ADV bike coming from Dirtbikes and Supersports, but man is this thing so flick-able and the control with the Explorer Pack down a couple fire roads has been amazing. I can't wait to get this thing on some of our more harder trailer here in CO, as it feels so nimble and controllable. I am interested to see more on those Tusk Bark Busters/Panniers on the bike of yours in the background. I look forward to see your results on your windshield spoilers and aftermarket windshields to help with that wind buffeting. As the biggest reason I went to an ADV bike, is I wanted nice set the cruise control and it's super bearable in comparison of flying up the highway on my super sport. But the mid-size of this bike allows me to go venture off on all the little off-shoot trails here and go explore. I also think this is one of the best looking bikes on the market, but I love that classic big round center headlight look. Keep the Norden videos coming!
@@uytouytoo9944 I am nearing 1000 miles and have had no issues. I did tighten the hose clamps on all the water lines when I did its first service just in case. But so far, the bike has been amazing. *knock on wood*
Thanks for answering my question, Ian! I mostly commute and do gravel roads, so a 2017 VStrom is probably good enough for me still. I test rode the 890 and that just felt much better. Maybe some day...
Husky must have a fear of over tightening hose clamps as my Svartpilen 701 also had a coolant leak that was fixed by tightening the hose clamps. Love your content BRM. You have the best reviews and series of reviews. Makes picking a bike much easier.
@@BigRockMoto I debated until Rottweiler performance put up the video on how to remove the tank and it looked so simple I just went for it myself and it wasn’t bad. Much better for me than driving 35 minutes to the dealer and then making someone pick me up and then doing the whole thing again to go back and get my bike
I would think something like the coolant leaking, even if you can do it yourself, on a brand new bike I would go to the dealer and have them fix it! Thats just not OK in my book, and they need to see it coming with that, so they have a chance at knowing how bad it is, specially if it happens to others too - so it can be fixed!
Every bmw forum I’ve seen all the bmw guys say ktm will never have bmw reliability, I’ve had both. Anything mechanical will break. But the cost of bmw repairs are brutal for parts. My ktm 1290 isn’t as refined as the 18 Rally GSA but has served its purpose well. I’m slowly moving more to the ktm side for fun factor without worrying I’m going to drop the 34k GSA here in Canada.
Solid Video! There have been many vids and in depth test reviews in exotic locals (some are quite good too) but, you are really nailing this Ian of Big Rock! Well done ! I’m excited to say I’m picking my fully loaded Norden up next Month, and your videos are becoming a beacon of light and solid information to many of my us , I have no doubt! To hear you discuss comparisons between the Tiger rally pro the 850 GSA , 1250 GS ( fire road cruisers) and the KTM’s, T7’s etc…really proves to be extremely helpful and have enabled me to confirm my choice for the Norden, the Unicorn bike it seems to be. I’m much more practically informed because of your thoughtful and balanced videos. Thank You! Now for my question: Should I put Bar risers on her pre-pick? I know the handle bars are adjustable but I’m 6ft and I do want to be comfortable when standing for distances . I think yes, but what’s your view? Best regards, MH ,AKA. Vida Blue
I’m 6’8” and 230 lbs without gear, so I’m looking forward to more details on the lower pegs. Had to re-spring my 701, so I’m confident bar risers and a different spring are already in my future when my Norden arrives.
That’s a great point about “issues” being magnified on the internet and making it hard to quantify. Just found your channel recently and have subscribed!
well done thanks , i was supposed to pick mine up today but am stuck at work had people not able to come in 🤞🤞🤞🤞hoping tomorrow , i have the payment in pocket and the bike is ready to roll so im told , although without the accessories still on order
Ok I know that this is related to the ktm but I’m not interested in those bikes. I’m comparing this to a T7 and I bet a lot of others will be also so please can you ref the T7 as much as the ktm
What I have noticed is OEM turn signals tend to be both very fragile in spills and comparitively very expensive to replace compared to cheap LED aftermarket short stalk blinkers. Mainly it is because the OEM have to meet DOT width requirements so they stick way out plus are larger overall and so are more visable probably brighter too.... but if one does hardly any around town street riding? I advise one with a new dual sport or adventure bike (that plans on doing a ton of offroad anyway) to consider just immediately swapping out the OEM blinkers for what I consider disposable Ebay LED units...I have installed several of these and they work albeit you may have to swap out the relay to an adjustable LED unit....which the automotive ones are as littel as $4 delivered...on KTM will not not fit the harness connector so I simply clipped that off (leaving enough wire to splice it back if I sell the bike ...maybe) and then you simply crimp on female spade connectors whch plug right on to the adjustable relay...These $15 a set signals are such short stalks (and yes they have rubber flx section alsothey never seem to get damaged....and if one did? less than $5 to replace if you bought an extra set for spares. As shown in this video the KTM Husky signals easily snap in two and lens collapses easily....I wish I had not waited to swap them out when I bought the bike....I knew better
I’m not a camera geek, but if it were me I’d either get a different lens to get both you and the bike in focus (google depth of field), or you need to sit closer to the bike so both are in focus. No sense in having you in 1/3 of the shot and a fuzzy bike in 2/3 of the shot. If anything, it’s the bike that should be in focus as you discuss aspects of it. If you’re discussing hoodies, then you got the focus right. 😏
I find my T7 pretty not great on multi day highway trips (surprise surprise!). Is the Norden any better? Especially for cruising higher speeds like 85mph for hours on end?
Dude stop directly addressing all the concerns that I'm using to keep myself from buying one of these. I was also thinking about the Tiger but here you are telling me how much better the Norden is for what I want to do. 😂 My KLR is not happy with you right now.
Thanks Ian. Lots of good answers! I'm really excited about the New Yamaha T7 World Raid model. I'm sure it will be available in the US when the time is right. However, this Husky looks like it will be as good or better. I'll watch for your comparison video with the T7. Thanks!
Lots of information, I like it! Husqvarna has put their windshield in the configurator. It would be interesting to try it. The Rake angle of 25.8 ° is the smallest in its class. And the 106.9mm trail is among the smallest in its class. The pros and cons of that?
Morning Ian I live on Vancouver Island and I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my 901. I am really enjoying watching your multi-episode review of this bike as it is a great education and I know it will help me to get comfortable quicker with my Norden when it arrives. I am wondering if you have heard anything about the issues related to the rear shock on this bike. It is my understanding that there have been several owners that have had the bike arrive with fluid leaking from the rear shock which has quickly transformed into failure of the shock. I have been told that Norden/KTM is aware of the issue and is in the process of rectifying it. Maybe we can swap it out with the 890R rear shock? I am also waiting to see what you do about getting a more functional windscreen for your 901. I hope you find us a decent aftermarket screen (similar to the BMW F850 GS Adventure). Why would Husqvarna put such a low end screen on a bike they are marketing as a travel bike? Get up the great work Ian!
Very informative video Ian, the multiple comparisons to other bikes was very useful. On the fuel mileage you might want to mention your numbers are on California gas and I've personally noticed my mpg usually goes up about 10% when I leave the state. But at least the numbers will be conservative. I wasn't excited to hear about the coolant leaks (VERY good you mentioned that), even if only hose clamps. It talks to KTM/Husky's QC situation which needs a boost up IMO. I've read about the rear shock leaks from a few bikes online, even on very new bikes. Apparently Husky is asking for all the shocks back so they can analyze it. That QC aspect is probably my #1 concern on spending that much money on a bike and not feeling more confident about it. You made a very strong case for the bike in all other aspects. I'm looking forward to your longer term reviews on this bike and whether you can sort out the windshield.
@@BigRockMoto I agree about the platform. Remove the QC concerns and it's nearly a no brainer. But..... that needs to happen in reality as it really is a big concern when spending 5 figures on a bike you intend to keep for some time. Right now I'd take struggling to pick up a T7 once in a while and be rest assured of it's problem free ownership along with long service intervals. If only it was easier to actually buy one.... Ya, another factor to toss into the mix these days.
New subscriber! In the market for one and have watched a ton of videos. Just gotta locate one! This has a lot of great points! Look forward to seeing more of your videos.
My question is why would I buy one period? The dealer network is thin and I assume it’s about as reliable as a KTM. I know you live in a large metro area, but in Idaho, dealers are few and far between. Yamaha, Honda rule here. I have a Pan America because of the excellent local Harley dealer and the company network. Love your channel and keep up the good work. Leaking coolant from day one is a major red flag to me. Good luck
Not sure if you will see this but enjoying your videos and commentary. Per your opinion what adventure bike would you recommend for 60% commuting 30% 2 up touring, and 10% single trail? Thank you!
Huskvarna was a really reliable bike when it was built in Sweden, when they started to be built in Italy, something happened and everything changed. I'm talking about old bikes (I owned one long time ago), but it looks to me that the reliabilty is not even now a favorable point of this brand.
Hi Ian, as always great reviews and detailed explanations, I love adv touring bikes style but do 90% of my trips on roads, which would be in your opinion the best bikes in the adv category, for doing mostly pavement roads, Twisties and some occasional off road tracks. Thanks
Another great video. I had a 790r which I loved, and have decided to get an 890r over the Norden due mainly to the suspension. I do not look forward to dealing with that rat's nest of wiring in the 890r headlight though, and I was wondering if that whole headlight/wiring design is easier to work with on the Norden. I like the looks of the Norden more than the 890r but overall the 890r is a better fit for me.
I enjoy your very thorough and honest videos. Have you had time to evaluate any potential annoying and/or uncomfortable engine heat now that summer is here?
On the skid plate/speghetti strainer one has to wonder if they had to do all those holes to keep things tolerably cool. I understand with the OEM cat/exhaust the 890 adv will flat roast you and so maybe (idk) you can only get away with a non ventilated skid plate if you first lose the cat? Especially since there is more fairing wind protection on the Norden than the 890adv ...just a thought
Another great video Ian, the more I watch on this bike the more I want one. I have a Streetglide different world I know but I ride with a group and was wondering if the Norden would be capable of one of our "short" rides 10-12 hours sometimes or would this be pushing the bike too much. Now those rides include stops along the way and usually a lunch break and distance of about 400 miles or so, we take the long wat to lunch most of the time Lol.
Awesome video, production quality and everything. Even though it's not the bike for me, i still watched the entire video. Looking forward to your 100Sub announcement and required new bike purchase. Maybe a Himalayan, then you can do a Norden/Himalayan comparison. hmm
I'm strongly considering getting a Norden (if I can find one). You convinced me over the Tiger 900 Rally Pro since I prefer 60-70% dirt (but still want comfort on road). Thought I heard there is a possible suspension upgrade available comparable to 890R? (Sorry if you covered this somewhere else.) Actually maybe I'll stick with stock suspension anyway since need road comfort. Any updates on wind screens since this was posted? Also are heated grips/seat available? I see the electronics seem to support it but don't know if the whole system is available yet. I'm in Colorado, few hours from San Juan mountains. Saw your Ophir Pass video. Would you take this bike over Ophir Pass, Engineer Pass, etc. (if didn't have 890R)? Considering trading in my Husky FE501S dual sport for more street riding (ideally would ride there and do the pass on same bike with Norden).
I'm surprised about the weight, thought it would be heavy than that. I weighed my T7 with fuel, 214kg. Without crash bars or centre stand. Fitted with B&B bash plate and camel high exhaust. Method to weigh the bike was front wheel first then back wheel, added both weights together.
So some 4 months down the road now Ian, where are you now with the Norden 901? I know you had some issue and the rear shock failure, but we haven’t seen any content since this video, have you sold the bike or will there be follow up videos, about the mods and ownership?
Hello Ian! You did say that you were going to do a comparison to the T7, but im nudging you anyway. See Im looking to get a T7. Im an experienced offroad rider, and I want to get further out in the sticks. I would love something like the Africa Twin, but its to heavy for the riding Im looking at doing. So my question to you is twofold: is the T7 a sound choice (because of light weight). Or is the Norden so much better of a bike that I should get that one and put up with the extra weight?
Another point of consideration is how a bike holds its weight. The t7 centre of mass is notably higher. Ian mentioned the vast difference in felt weight between t7 and new klr being big despite same weight. The Norden/890adv ight wager to feel much easier to pick up relatively. Not only is the tank lower, but it's out to the side meaning a tipped 890 will be closer to upright in a downed position
i wanted to like the T7 even after riding one the first time i was still trying to talk myself into it but man soft spongy top heavy and only 70hp , i can throw a bunch of aftermarket $ at it and probably fix some of that but your not going to effect the hp much ...............cant do it , my Norden is at the dealer now
The Norden or an 890 feels way lighter and can run circles around the T7 on and off road. However the Yamaha will probably be more reliable. I don't really miss my T7, if that helps answer the question
@@BigRockMoto The question mark on reliability has held me back from upgrading my 39k miles crf1000 dct. This bike has never missed a beat since I've owned it and I would be unhappy to have reliability issues on my next bike. I don't really want another Africa twin but reliability may force me to purchase again. I need to make my mind up before I clock too many miles up on my bike.
I've only got a DR650se .. but its still going strong after 16yrs .. so, I'm keen on the KTM890s especially if its road handling is better than the Norden901. What say ye? And are there quick, easy mods/ adjustments that can further improve the road handling of the 890s adventure?
It would be interesting to see 2 more columns in your chart theoretical range on the fuel tank and service interval range. otherwise great blog . Thanks . Also would like to see a comparison against the Ducati Desert X and the Aprilla Tuareg, i know there are different engine sizes but will the weight / engine size ave an advantage or not.
Love your vids Ian. They are always very thorough and informative. How do you find the motopumps mount with the GPS? Does it stick out too far, blocking main dash when standing? Is it stable, and did you find the wiring easy enough to do on the Norden?
Have you binned the 901, we haven’t seen or heard a thing about it for 3 weeks! Was looking forward to regular updates but its gone all quiet on the 901.
I love everything you’ve put on here and l I’ve this video, and appreciate your upgrading production, but I wanted to look at the 901 while it sat in front of me on screen as you spoke, but it was blurred out.
Hello Ian. Eivind from Norway calling. 🙂 Thanks for all your informativ videos. Iˋve just bought myself a Norden 901 and i watch a video about crashbars for the 901. It seems like the Givi tn 7710 fits. They are made for the KTM 790 but they fit right into the Norden. Are you gone test out these ones?
How are the wheel spokes sealed? Is the system the same as that used with the Guzzi Stelvio where each spoke is sealed individually inside the rim? Thank you for your work and please keep up the videos.
Would you recommend the Norden or the 18-19' Africa twin for a long tour (few months)? Planning to do the Pan-American hwy to Argentina at the end of the year and have it down to these 2 bikes. Thanks for the great content!
It seems that if you really need better off road performance than this or the 890R, you are going down in size to a bike that is in the dual sport class, like a DR, 690/701, CRF300, etc. Saving money, gaining dirt performance and losing highway comfort as you go.
@Big Rock Moto Hello Ian, in the future, will you be reviewing (or plan to review) bikes other than those that are meant for ‘Adventure’? I saw your review of the electric bike (you really need to ride the Sur Ron) and thought it would be a hoot to see you review bikes that are deemed ‘old man’ such as Goldwings etc.
Hi from Australia Ian. Living in a hot climate in QLD, motorcycle that pump out heat are a big negative such as previously owned Tiger 1200’s etc. I note that you say the Tuareg 660 bathes the lower legs in heat so my question is, how is the 901 regarding engine heat? I realise you might not be able to ascertain this his given your current winter season but are there any indications so far? Cheers Dave
I would suspect that it being a European bike, that they love to torque every nut, bolt, and screw, and I am sure that they did that for the hose clamp. I am sure that Husky will address this at the factory level in the future.
Since you've ridden both quite a bit I would be really interested in your opinion between the Norden 901 and the Tiger 900 Rally Pro. They're quite similar on paper, and both good "do it all" bikes. What are your thoughts on which you prefer? Love the channel.
Looks like it’s an 890 Adventure with different plastic. I have the 2021 890 Adventure R with Quickshift and the Rally pack. Looks like most of the 790/890 accessories will work with this bike. I must say that I’m NOT a fan of the KTM’s headlight look and I am a fan of the Norden’s front headlight. I like the 890 Adv R’s fender position better but I’m sure Camel or others will provide a mod for that. I do wish I had the heated grips and seat and I will be making that mod to my KTM.
How is the bike for touring 2UP? Does it feel overwhelmed or does it feel fine with a passenger and light luggage? I test drove a Tiger 900 GT Pro and was not impressed with 2UP urban environment, they didn’t let me ride it far though. Given that said I did end up picking a 2016 Versys 1000 and this thing is a monster for 2UP riding but it is a bigger platform. Thanks! Love the channel!
What's the fuel consumption and autonomy in metrics, please? Didn't see the conversion pop up in the video. One more nice and detailed video, thank you

+1 for T7 vs Norden 901. We just need that video! :D
This bike is so great and I'm slowly getting past the Wazowski headlight on the front. Anxious to see how reliable it is over the next year or so. Thanks for putting so much info out there for us.
Fingers crossed!
It’s about as reliable as a Ktm 😣
@@edithdriver2094 That's my thinking too....hi compression/high horse power motor 🤔
@@edithdriver2094 well ive had many KTM's and a wide range of different experiences as well but i tried hard i mean very hard to talk myself into the Yamaha T7 i wanted to like it and buy one figuring at the base price i could throw loads of $ aftermarket at it , have 2 friends with them so ive ridden them stock and with some aftermarket both , just cant do it
1 oif the 2 guys i know with them has his already for sale says it feels like the softest slowest bike he has ever had and he waited for almost a year to get his while collecting thousands of aftermarket parts for it and sold it with less than 3000 miles , the other guy it is his 3rd bike ever the first 2 being KLR650 & CRF250 so his frame of reference is different ....... anyway i dont think you can call any motorcycle boring but its the closest i experienced , sorry just 1 dudes honest opinion
Keep the Norden videos coming!
have you ever experienced some problems? like coolant leak or something like this which irritated you?
@@uytouytoo9944 I am nearing 1000 miles and have had no issues. I did tighten the hose clamps on all the water lines when I did its first service just in case. But so far, the bike has been amazing. *knock on wood*
@@Bill1993YT ✌️👍👍🖐
@@Bill1993YTany new updates on the bike? How has it been over the last year?
@@IdahoDualSport208I personally have had no issues with mine and I’ve beaten it pretty good. No complaints at all
Thanks for answering my question, Ian! I mostly commute and do gravel roads, so a 2017 VStrom is probably good enough for me still. I test rode the 890 and that just felt much better. Maybe some day...
Great overview, thanks! I really appreciate your straight forward approach and style to reviewing bikes.
Husky must have a fear of over tightening hose clamps as my Svartpilen 701 also had a coolant leak that was fixed by tightening the hose clamps. Love your content BRM. You have the best reviews and series of reviews. Makes picking a bike much easier.
This helped me decide on the Norden over the 890r. Thanks!
Yep I had coolant leaking from two of my hose clamps being loose. I had to remove the tank to get to one of them but it is fixed now. Great video!
i am debating taking it to the dealer
Love the norden! Now I just have to sell my 790R! I have a deposit on one, hope it comes soon, thanks Ian!
Why am i addicted to your channel 😅 well done your videos is good and explianing all good
Every bmw forum I’ve seen all the bmw guys say ktm will never have bmw reliability, I’ve had both.
Good job Ian. Put that thing on a trailer and get to some sunny climate weather. We need 5-10 more videos of this thing
I have no interest in this bike. But yet I watched the entire video. Good job. Straight forward real world reviews are the best.
thanks
Vida Blue
I put the Husky optional risers on day one. I’m 6’2” and my wife is 5’10”. Made a noticeable improvement.
I’m 6’8” and 230 lbs without gear, so I’m looking forward to more details on the lower pegs. Had to re-spring my 701, so I’m confident bar risers and a different spring are already in my future when my Norden arrives.
I don't think you'll need risers, I am 5;11 and don't feel the need for them. You can rotate the bars forward slightly.
Always so informative. Thanks great job.
Thanks on the windscreen update. I'll keep checking
I'm waiting to see you try the Aprilia Taureg 660, and see if you may have jumped the gun on a Norden. 😁 Maybe you won't like the less powerful 80 hp.
I would be very interested in a Tuareg/T7/Norden comparison!
@@tjmanifest Those are the 3 bikes I'm considering, if I don't stick with a thumper.
That’s a great point about “issues” being magnified on the internet and making it hard to quantify. Just found your channel recently and have subscribed!
Straight goods as always, Ian. Thanks for your efficient, fluff free, no bs info
Another information filled video, thank you. - Frank
Another awesome episode in the Norden series and in general! thank you!
well done thanks , i was supposed to pick mine up today but am stuck at work had people not able to come in 🤞🤞🤞🤞hoping tomorrow , i have the payment in pocket and the bike is ready to roll so im told , although without the accessories still on order
Good vid, thanks for the straight foward input on all those beautiful bikes!
yeah I'm still learning, but you're right
I find my T7 pretty not great on multi day highway trips (surprise surprise!).
My KLR is not happy with you right now.
DO IT
Thanks Ian. Lots of good answers! I'm really excited about the New Yamaha T7 World Raid model. I'm sure it will be available in the US when the time is right. However, this Husky looks like it will be as good or better. I'll watch for your comparison video with the T7. Thanks!
Good Q&A session. I was waiting for a call out on those soft panniers. 🙂 thx
Lots of information, I like it! Husqvarna has put their windshield in the configurator. It would be interesting to try it. The Rake angle of 25.8 ° is the smallest in its class. And the 106.9mm trail is among the smallest in its class. The pros and cons of that?
it makes it feel super agile
Morning Ian
I live on Vancouver Island and I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my 901.
Shock... heard several issues, but mine is fine. Windscreen, need a larger one!
Thanks Dan. It's a great platform, I hope these issues don't sour the experience.
Norden 901 vs. KTM 990. They look so much alike (IMHO). How would you compare them? Of course they’re 10 years apart. Thanks Ian. Another great video
990 sounds better, v-twin. the 901 is better in every measurable way, however.
@@BigRockMoto I still have my 990, the Norden really appeals to me. I am strongly considering one
Thank you!
Some good questions, thanks for answering them.
I saw the Norden las week, loved it. I will wait for the T700 worlraid.
After spending some time with the Norden, how would you rate it against the Africa Twin and the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro?
can't wait till you get your paws on the aprilia tuareg! It's either the T7 or the Tuareg... Just not sure about the aprilia dependability
Another great video Ian, the more I watch on this bike the more I want one. I have a Streetglide different world I know but I ride with a group and was wondering if the Norden would be capable of one of our "short" rides 10-12 hours sometimes or would this be pushing the bike too much. Now those rides include stops along the way and usually a lunch break and distance of about 400 miles or so, we take the long wat to lunch most of the time Lol.
it would be fine for that
All husky needs to do is supply a decal to put on the bike to match the stripe issue when thd seats up
Awesome video, production quality and everything. Even though it's not the bike for me, i still watched the entire video. Looking forward to your 100Sub announcement and required new bike purchase. Maybe a Himalayan, then you can do a Norden/Himalayan comparison. hmm
need ideas for the 100k celebration
Nice work Ian. I am wondering now about my desire to wait for the 501!!
might be a long wait
I think you mean 214kg.
I think you may have forgotten to follow through on the "adding both weights together" part ;-)
Sorry, 214kg
Great video, really enjoyed it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
1250 GS & a KTM 350/500 should cover it all.
true

Love your vids Ian. They are always very thorough and informative.
How do you find the motopumps mount with the GPS? Does it stick out too far, blocking main dash when standing? Is it stable, and did you find the wiring easy enough to do on the Norden?
it's perfect and wiring was easy to do
Have you binned the 901, we haven’t seen or heard a thing about it for 3 weeks! Was looking forward to regular updates but its gone all quiet on the 901.

I love everything you’ve put on here and l I’ve this video, and appreciate your upgrading production, but I wanted to look at the 901 while it sat in front of me on screen as you spoke, but it was blurred out.
Thanks Ian, always great content! I see you picked up the Motoz DV for the front, what tire did you put on the rear, and why?
DV front and rallz rear going on soon. more dirt traction
Norden for the win
I am considering it!
How are the wheel spokes sealed? Is the system the same as that used with the Guzzi Stelvio where each spoke is sealed individually inside the rim?
Thank you for your work and please keep up the videos.
Hi from France, just subscribed to your channel as it's the most informative I found those days on this 901 Husky I just test rided.

New subscriber. Great channel, great videos.
I don’t need a KTM 890 Adv R. It’s a little too tall for me. And I’m not a pro enduro ride at my age - 70. My Norden is perfect for me.
Saving money, gaining dirt performance and losing highway comfort as you go.
correct
Hello, My question is, Are you happy with the Norden? Beacuse I think it is the most iimportant. Thanks
Thank you for a great video.
Special Thanks for answer my question!

No worries!
Tiger feels more refined, Norden is more fun and engaging, tough choice. norden feels a lot lighter too
Looks like it’s an 890 Adventure with different plastic.
890R is more capable for similar money. but Norden looks sweet
Hi Ian, why do I feel so much heat on my legs? Can it be fixed? Great videos man! Thank you!!!
Nice job Ian 👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
Should be interesting to see how it is compared to to the t-7 world raid
How is the bike for touring 2UP? Does it feel overwhelmed or does it feel fine with a passenger and light luggage? I test drove a Tiger 900 GT Pro and was not impressed with 2UP urban environment, they didn’t let me ride it far though. Given that said I did end up picking a 2016 Versys 1000 and this thing is a monster for 2UP riding but it is a bigger platform. Thanks! Love the channel!
plenty of power for it, good seat and good room, but I don't carry a passenger enough to say for sure
What's the fuel consumption and autonomy in metrics, please? Didn't see the conversion pop up in the video. One more nice and detailed video, thank you
