Fabulous demonstration 😊 I have Photo Ai as well as the stand alone units. I only use photo Ai now because I read somewhere that Topaz had stopped updating the individual units therefore Topaz photo Ai maybe even better at sharpening than Topaz Sharpen if that is true.

So every time I try to use this program as a plugin in light room, it comes up with this huge error message. I uninstalled the program but I know there were a few files that I needed to trash also but I cannot remember where I find them on my MAC. Anyone know.

Topaz is a suite of programs I always have at my disposal in my post processing. It's saved a ton of images. You didn't explain the advantages however, of trying out some of the OTHER settings as the simply blurry settings aren't always the best way to go. I often prefer the Motion Blur options as it provides even better micro sharpening and is easily adjusted to taste. Yeah, Topaz is way beyond anything Adobe offers to say the least.

I am new to this Topaz software. Does Photo AI includes sharpen, Enlargement, Noise Reduction and Face Recovery or I have to buy individual DeNoise AI, Sharpen AI, Gigapixel AI? Thank you for your time.

@@ParkerPhotographic so photo ai has all the features of the stand alone apps? denoise, sharpen ai, etc?? i had thought the stand alone apps had more features with them

Hey Mike, that is correct. Topaz Photo AI has all three combined into one. Plus, they seem to be turning it into a full fledged editing app. They've recently added Lighting Adjustments, Color Balance and an AI remove tool.

Good afternoon. Excellent video to show the capabilities of this tool. I'm strongly considering buying this, and your video pushes me further to do so. Two questions: (1) for the couple walking in the rain, when you sharpened and showed the close-up, it appeared as if there were some artifacts or something irregular about the teeth of both. Is that "normal" or is further post-processing required (and what would that be)? (2) I'd like to see a video or something that shows us the limitations of Topaz Sharpening to "level-set" and manage expectations for buying the product. How bad can a photo be before sharpening is just a wish? In other words, how do we manage sharpening expectations before Topaz sharpening?
Thanks again for this helpful video!

      Hello!
      1. The photo of the couple was taken 14 years ago with a Nikon d300. The resolution (megapixels) is much less than cameras made today. So… fewer pixels to work with, and when sharpened, it creates these artifacts. It’s not the software’s fault but how it’s used and the quality of the file. These artifacts will appear in any software due to the file size/quality.
With more pixels, this will be less apparent. If you see this in your own images, you can adjust the mask (where edits are being applied) by using a brush to alter the mask. In this case, their teeth don’t need to be sharpened.
Also, I’m zoomed in around 600% (or more) to get that view. That being said, how often are you zooming in that much? At 100%, you can’t see it. Or if you’re doing a 20x30 print, how close to the image are people going to get to view the image? Inches or feet? You can’t see it in print unless you’re very, very close (you may even need a magnifying glass).
      2. I wouldn’t expect miracles. But you can see how I saved one of my favorite photos of my daughter with Topaz Photo AI: ruclips.net/video/dAeYetkYMXs/видео.html

The couple+umbrella image is quite badly sharpened, the teeth have now some black lines in them, which would be a pain to remove in photoshop. Also the video feels a lot like a sponsored one coz you keep repeating "has applied its AI technology". You also don't compare it to other sharpening/noise removing tools, like the one included in Lightroom itself or Photoshop.

Who cares if it's sponsored or not. Which it isn't. You either want to use any software that can make your images better or not. If not, then find/use, whatever you want. By the way, I use Topaz Photo AI every day. Also, these images are low-resolution files from 2010. It is much different from hi-res files from today's more advanced cameras.

I think it's a very flawed tool, it still has a long way to go to be perfect.

    • @ParkerPhotographic
      @ParkerPhotographic  11 месяцев назад

It will never be perfect. Not even Lightroom or Photoshop is perfect. Topaz Photo AI does what it needs to do, for me, and thousands more. If you don't expect miracles and don't zoom in past 100% it works.

All I will say is I shoot weddings for a living! I took 4 shots of the same scene - perfect on camera lcd imported to LR and was like wtf then I tried image No 2 and 3 etc I was like you are joking me how did my camera mess up? Ok so it was dark but I still focused and heard the “in focus beep” applied sharpening and denoise via Lightroom - still no joy - did I want Photo AI no as I thought I’ll never need it that was until today! When I said I wonder will it work for even one of the images - let’s just say “client won’t have a clue” if you zoom in to much of course it won’t look as sharp but from zooming in X1 on the original image to say that’s blurred to now being able to zoom in X4 before you go “hmm yeah could be a tiny bit sharper” to me that’s paid for itself with just one image! Honestly the hype is real! and hello from Ireland! :)

it looks interesting but not enough to justify handing over 150€.
if you have that kind of issue on a regular basis, you probably have other problems to solve. 🤔
