It's definitely at it's height in popularity I think which is why it's so widely out of stock but I am sure they should be stocked back up soon. You can only find them at Sephora here as well so it's pretty limited. I, myself am still waiting for the kayali musk and elixir to come back in stock. I definitely suggest you put yourself on the mailing list for when it comes back in stock - sometimes that's the only way you can even purchase a super hyped perfume it seems these days..
For me: Vanilla Absolu- mostly vanilla, creamy, cookie (reminds me of the vanilla cream my mum used to add in cakes) Chocolate greedy- exactly like chocolate cookies, with Vanilla Absolu drydown Vanilla cake- Vanilla ice cream Sweet Vanilla- a more summery version of these with a sweet citrusy note, which feels like lemon with apricot (smells exactly like a fruity candy or bubblegum) All are incredible and definitely worth trying!
Chocolate greedy on me smells like orange chocolate, then it drys down to a Nutella scent. And absolu is just straight up vanilla, a bit fake smelling but in the best way 🥰 great for layering !

Love Sweet Vanilla and Chocolate Greedy. Montale Sweet Vanilla smells similar to Mancera Velvet Vanilla. Sweet Vanilla is slightly sweeter, but somehow less cloying and easier to wear.
Woah! Thank you for that J - I totally get what you mean by "somehow less cloying and easier to wear" - it helps me imagine it better. I find that Mancera is generally sharper and potentially more cloying in general and Montale's versions seem to be more fluffy less astringent or something. I don't have any Montale vanilla yet...only have Mancera Velvet Vanilla which of course is Tuberose heavy and isn't really just a vanilla. But I'm planning on ordering lots of samples this year from both Montale and Mancera. They make sooo many, I don't want to have to keep blind buying...lol. For Montale, I only have Intense Cafe and Intense Tiare. Mancera I have Holidays, Wild Cherry, Wild Python and Velvet Vanilla. After so many blind buys last year, I need to get more strategic so that's why I'll be sampling more.

What do you think of the intense tiare?😍 The fragrances you have so far (we have a similar Mancera collection!) by montale and Mancera are all a lot louder than these soft cuddly vanillas!

This is the very reason that I don't (blind) buy any montales or manceras without a strong recommendation. i know they share ingredients as sister companies, plus I went to sniff some montales and at least 5 of them smelled a like. Many are too similar to warrant purchases.

I just opened my Vanilla cake and its soooo intense it made me choke!! Then it smelt sour and i had to scrub it :// ive had an uneasy stomach lately due to medication so i had to get rid of it!!! The dry down smelt like there was an odd note hiding in between all the gourmand notes where it didnt belong!! Ill try it again once its sat for a while ive heard that can change the way it dries down

Personally I feel like it comes down to the meringue/almond being overpowering and potentially clashing with the other notes. I still like it but it’s not my favourite - and I consider it to be more of an almond/meringue literal gourmand rather than a vanilla perfume. If you’re dealing with nausea and/or upset stomach I absolutely see how this could be a very challenging or cloying scent for you right now, so definitely give it some time and try it when you’ve adjusted to meds or feel better! ♥️

Those are definitely all good picks if that’s what you’re going for. I know Eilish can be smelled in stores so maybe you can see if you like it first? Out of the Montales I personally prefer Vanille Absolu, but if you want literal vanilla cake with caramel - Vanilla Cake might be your best bet.

i I bought vanilla cake about 2 weeks ago i will say my opinion , i think its not vanilla cake to me , it smell like milky almond maybe almond have strong strong and stong as hell in this fragrance and just hide all other like caramel and vanilla its so sweetnes yeah but i think its good, i think if they put some of woody or flowers to make this perfume more balance together but some times its smell in like cough syrup dry i dont know but thanks for that anyway big love from saudi arabia 🇸🇦 .

I just got the Montale discovery set where I pick the 5 scents I want to try. You get five 2ml sprays. Love that lipstick and liner. It’s a fabulous color for you. What is it you’re wearing? I coordinates beautifully with your fluffy pillows.

I suspect it might be an essence nude mauve liner and nyx pin up lipstick in corset but I can't say 100% 😅💕 What 5 montales did you pick? I would find it difficult to pick!

I got a couple of sample sets from Montale and I am so glad I did before committing money to a bottle of any of them. I thought I was going to love all the famous/well known ones, but I didn't, and instead fell for slightly more masculine ones like: Patchouli Leaves, Full Incense, Re Vetiver, licorice-heavy Aoud Greedy etc. Of all of the scents I go, I thought Chocolate Greedy was a waste of time cos it smelled *too* much like straight-up dark chocolate to be interesting, and I despised Vanilla Cake, I think it's disgusting and smells SO artificial and "yellow".
I totally know what you mean! Also, I think sometimes, just because something smells good or yummy, maybe you don't want to smell like a straight up chocolate bar or other food, you know?! All three Montale fragrances have ample sillage and lasting power (at least 5/6 hours on skin which is on the high end for me) with moderate projection.
Do you mean out of the Montales? Because while I can't think of a dupe for Kayali Vanilla 28, I can say that Vanille Absolue is another favourite for layering - it's potent and long-lasting as well. Hope that helps - Thanks for watching, Meredith!

Hey Sonja! I think out of these three, Vanille Absolu is the best layering vanilla and it would pair well with and help amplify the vanilla accord in any other fragrance. I also really like and reccomend Kayali Vanilla 28 for layering if you don't mind a slightly more complex Vanilla.

I've been testing them side by side right now and I have to tell you, both Vanille Absolu and Vanilla Cake could pass for a vanilla cookie scent, but, I would say Vanille Absolue is more homemade cookies and Vanilla Cake is more store-bought boxed cookies. Both good but a different vibe! Someone commented that Vanilla Cake smells like soft serve vanilla ice cream to them and I would agree on that interpretation. That said, when I looked up Chrismas Cookies from BBW (which I've never smelled! So I tried to imagine it), it looks closer note-wise to Vanilla Cake. Anyway, ultimately, I would go for Vanille Absolu for that homebaked cookie scent. I would love to know anyone else's thoughts too! Vanilla cake didn't work for me at all. That milk note turns sour (buttermilk) and it doesn't mix with other fragrances. Love the other two.

I've been testing them side by side right now and I have to tell you, both Vanille Absolu and Vanilla Cake could pass for a vanilla cookie scent, but, I would say Vanille Absolue is more homemade cookies and Vanilla Cake is more store-bought boxed cookies. Both good but a different vibe! Someone commented that Vanilla Cake smells like soft serve vanilla ice cream to them and I would agree on that interpretation. That said, when I looked up Chrismas Cookies from BBW (which I've never smelled! So I tried to imagine it), it looks closer note-wise to Vanilla Cake. Anyway, ultimately, I would go for Vanille Absolu for that homebaked cookie scent. I would love to know anyone else's thoughts too! I like vanilla scent but vanilla cake smells too sweet for me. It made me sick and gag the second time and I sniffed it. However, my husband liked it..
I can see how it would be too sweet for some. It's the opposite for me! I like it but my partner doesn't love these vanilla perfumes.

It’s hard for me to pick just one, but I would say it’s sweet vanilla for summer and vanilla absolu or chocolate greedy for winter 😅🥰

Odd that people can have such A WIDE ranging opinion of the same fragrance. If Vanille Absolu smells like acetone then what do you think of Intense Cafe or Starry Nights. I'd like to know as this would clarify your scent palate. Thanks.
