    I am a mother of two, 14 and 2 years old and tbh, I never had these problem with my kids. I never shout or spank but instead I talked to them like I was just talking to an adult. it's much better than giving them rewards because they will only follow you if you give them something not on their own will.

    Story time:
    My mum was having a baby so my dad was taking care of us. My other 4 year old sister wouldn't go to sleep. I told her let's play a game. I pretended that SHE was in a hospital with her baby doll and I was a nurse. I helped my sister and gave her food. Then I told her that it was time for her bedtime because her baby was sleepy. She really thought she was in a hospital lol and slept the whole night

    When I was little (and even now) I always hated getting ready for school, doing my homework, cleaning my room, etc. Only because I hated the mean tone my Mom would tell me those demands in. I think my Mom understood that that was an issue for me especially when waking me up, she decided to wake me up in a nicer and happier way. It made a world of a difference! I imagine that still works for most adults too! Nobody likes being told what to do in such a rude way, regardless if it's your boss or family member or friend. But we all handle it better when those people tell us politely. Civilized demands come with a civilized response. :)

    I like the idea of framing a child's punishment after what the consequence would be for an adult or after what would make the situation right. If they break something important, they have to fix or replace it, which is what an adilt woild be expected to do. If they steal something from a store, they have to bring it back, pay for it if it's non-returnable (like open food or cosmetics), and apologize, which is what a responsible adult would do to make it right. If a child mouths off or disrepects someone, that's deserving of a light spanking, since the adult consequence would probably be a punch in the face. If your older child or teenager gets in trouble with the police, ground them and serve them home-made nutra-loaf if they get ornery, which is what they could get if they sass off in jail.

    • @rosecombs3896
      @rosecombs3896 5 лет назад +1

      The “light” spanking is counter productive.

    • @Dree03
      @Dree03 3 года назад

      All fun and games till ur kid is broke 😂 and you have to pay for it. What are y’all gonna do for 1-3 year olds? I know a kid whose dad is constantly trying to have a conversation with him and help him to see why he did wrong (this kid is very smart). He’s 3 and is on a 4 year old level. What’s funny is that whenever we see the child with him in public, he falls out. When he’s with us, he knows it’s certain things he’s not gonna do and he’s fine with that.

  • @Gnidel

    Please, please, please don't force kids to eat. At all, even healthy food. It will be all right if they will be hungry for a while. Or they won't be hungry because their body didn't need more food. You don't know, but there are no risks in letting them not eat.
    Their instincts know better if they need to eat or not! There's no benefits in trusting their bodies and forcing them might result in obesity.

    Great tips, I just talk to my three year old like an adult. She will cooperate much faster and listen carefully and also join the conversation I have with her and she will get curious and ask questions. Also her vocabulary will increase using new words etc and she will copy me through the way I speak. She refused to eat soup the other day, I changed my approach instead of shouting I explained to her that the soup contained minerals and vitamins that would make her strong and grow well. I showed her my own muscles, she checked her own and she started eating without any problems again. With every meal now she gets eager to see her own muscles grow.

    I was already taught the trick on turning things into a game. It also helps with chores. Why do you think the bedroom gets cleaned up quickly?
    I used to help my kids start off. If they wouldn't help, then I'd stop doing it for them and wouldn't move until they did it themselves. It took a little while, but now my kids do things themselves and they're younger than the age of 7. The only thing I do for them is cook their meals or do their laundry, which they sometimes want to help with because they turn everything into a fun game. Chores get done a lot faster and they also tend to laugh at failure.

    Here's a radical concept...give your kids a healthy fear of you so they actually behave and respect what you have to say. AKA parenting...I rolled my eyes at this. You don't make deals with your children, but you can certainly give them a choice.

    When I was a child my parents hit me when I displeased them. If I didn't get out of the pool when asked, my dad would tell me we're never coming back. If I couldn't have something I wanted I would cry but my parents did not comfort me, they waited it out. If it was bed time, I was locked in my room so i had no choice but to sleep. I grew up to be disciplined, and respectful. I never use profanity, I am patient and let others walk before me. Other people are always telling me how mature I seem to them becauseof how I act (even thoughin my mind im think about cartoons all day XD). So because of this experience I am a firm believer on strict parenting. Spankings are okay by me. I hate a parent who lets their children run around doing whatever they want bothering local people and not caring. It's okay to tell a child no. I love my parents, being strict is not going to remove the love a child has for their parents

    • @bluelanterns2589
      @bluelanterns2589 6 лет назад +4

      well I understand you. my parents are strict but nice they don't lock me in my room or something like that. if they did that to me I would find that unacceptable. if they gave me 1 or 2 chances before they got mad at me (that's like what my parents do) and I still do it again I would understand punishments. but if I annoy them by accident. and they know that I was an accident and they still lock me in my room or something, then I would just punch the door screaming all night. I don't think it's fair parents to do what ever they want with their children, But I do think it is normal for them to get angry or something like that, everyone get's angry sometimes you and me! but anyway if they we're that mean to me I would do what they did to me. when I want something I ask and if they straight up no I would find that a bit rude but if they sorry it's to expensive, or something like tears would just come out of my eyes and I just said ok. did your parents say NO!! or something like GO TO YOUR ROOM!! or something like that? if they gave you a couple of chances that's normal, but if they don't and lock ou right away then that's a problem.

So they don't want to express there feelings with you. This can be dangerous for the child may not tell you if something extremely wrong that could lead to death. They are scared you will hurt them. But that's just my opinion.😶

    In the car my sister and I were good at entertaining ourselves. But my parents had a special way of dealing with fights in the car. The minute an argument ensued, they began going, "Ommmmm" in complete unison and refused to stop until we quit fighting. In the end, that was far more annoying than whatever started the fight in the first place.

    This isn't easy, because parents need to be calm when they deal with naughty children of their own. I've seen it happen many times on vacations to Disneyland with my parents' supervision and I must tell you that it wasn't pretty at all. We all did our best NOT to give into their behavior.

    Bright side: Don’t force your child to eat but say “ I’ll give u a piece of candy if u eat your soup”
    My mom tries this out and says to my sister: if u eat your broccoli soup I’ll give u a piece of candy
    ( my sister is obsessed with candy )
    My sister: EWW I THEIRS NO WAY IM GOING TO EAT THE SOUP
    My mom: I said I’ll give u a piece of candy!
    My sister: I’m not going to eat soup just for that candy
    Me: bright side please answer but how do I get my sister into eating? We tried telling her that we will give her a piece of junk food if she eats but she won’t eat!

    • @kaitlynowens7762

      Try including her in the cooking process, kids who make what they eat are proud for what they’ve done and are more likely to try that food. If they really don’t like the meal and refuse to eat it, then they probably just don’t like it.

He'd trick us into playing sleeping lions in bed until we fell asleep. It worked till I was 9 lol
