The reload cancelling really makes this animation special. Everyone is talking about Scout's weapon, but for me I get that feeling of that double barrel SPAS, as seen in Half Life series.
It's like the reverse of the Half Life SPAS, there it has only one real barrel but somehow can shoot two shells at once, whereas here it has two barrels but only shoots out of one

Fun fact: Bungie's old Marathon games featured a lever action double barreled shotgun. It also had a short barrel, pistol grip, and a ring shaped lever. The reason for this is so that you can flip-cock it like the terminator. Once more, this allowed you to DUAL WIELD THEM! I would love to see Layzuhcatz animate that with his character.

Outwardly, it looks like a Break-Open Single-Shot Shotgun at first glance, until you notice the Bolt and extractor, then open it and expose the Tube magazine along with the bolt. All things considered, a Lever action version of the Cosmi is much simpler, especially since the Cosmi was designed to be a Semi-Automatic.
Here's an even better one: Semi-automatic break-action shotgun. This isn't fictional. It's a real weapon IRL. The Shotgun was made by the Italian Cosmi Company, and is quite the work of art.
This is absolutely insane how well made this is, and how badly I wish guns like this were the default weapon in games today rather than generic assault rifle #50

The way I imagine this working IRL is that it's basically just a normal level action, but sideways. The feed tube is just one of the barrels, the side without the ejection port. The break is used to fill that tube.
Hardcore! This feels like the Doom and Marathon shotguns spliced together for the ultimate shell-slinging boomstick! Also, interrupting the animation as if the player has a very itchy trigger finger is a great touch!
You should do a reloading animation where the whole thing is that the person holding the gun CANNOT for the life of him properly fit the magazine in. Like he's always a bit off of actually getting it in the gun.
In terms of double barrels, I can think of 2, 1 is from bioshock 2 where you can add 4 uh rotating tubes, and Alien versus predator where the shotgun is a clip fed double barrel.
Considering this is an average double barrel shotgun, the extra shells would have to be stored in the stock itself, and have a break-open and loading mechanism to stock up the magazine, as well as a way to feed the new shells into the chamber
Surprisingly, this isn't the only lever action double barrel shotgun brought to 3D software. If anyone played "Goldeneye: Rogue Agent" can remember a black, double barrel, mag fed shotgun that was dual-wieldable. I can't remember the name off the top of my head though, if anyone remembers it pls do tell!
honestly, i think something like that could *technically* be possible if the ejectors were mirrored, so the shells launched in both directions. have the standard double trigger like a double barrel, but one cycle reloads both chambers. would be impractical as hell, but fun to shoot
