KPOP is more upbeat and would really make you dance to the beat whilst JPOP makes you stamp to beat. JPOP sounds unique. They have their distinct music and it's interesting plus they have good lyrics--logical and inspiring in a sense.
It's not only the songs and the style of KPop that I like and love, I just think that the language (korean) is so good to listen to. And I'm German so, I'm not being biased

I think jpop has many talented members but the majority lack. A lot of jpop fans like to say that kpop artist are only good because they train. Worldwide stars are all trained. Even artist like Beyonce, Chris brown and Britney spears trained to refine what they already have. Musicians train. There is nothing wrong with that. In jpop I notice that there are guys they put out in front the most while the others kind if come off like lackeys. Another argument I hear is that kpop sounds so American. Well a lot of their artists are Korean American, Chinese American, japanese American etc...there will be an influence. They even allow American composers to help with some tracks. Another thing that drew me towards kpop was because of the diversity. Like in the new group NCT U the group has many foreign members like Ten Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul who is Thai, Mark who is Korean- Canadian, Winwin & Kun who are Chinese, Johnny who is Korean American and Yuta who is from Japan. There are so many examples I don't have to go into. I do respect many Japanese artists but I think there are many areas for improvement. One being the sound. Jpop still has a very 90's British/American pop sound. I think this is why they're falling behind. while there are some gems there are many flops. Great examples of jpop groups setting themselves apart is e-girls, da-ice, exile and x4. they cater to their generation which is absolutely amazing.
You can instantly see the difference in the production value. xD Anyway, J-Pop isnt bad, but K-Pop is better imo. I feel like some of the J-Pop Boy Bands try way to hard to look cool.

Jpop MVs are not a big deal in Japan I think x) I mean... Arashi is a great example, they're my favorite group but I don't think they put a lot of money in their MVs x) and for the music, everyone have their preference, the public of Jpop is Japan, they love this kind of style, let them be, I love their songs too, and at least they're no trying to be manly, they're themselves...

But I love Japan in general and its culture a bit more, don't get me wrong I like Korean culture too and Korea it's just that from a young age I've been closer to Japanese culture. I think k-pop in general sounds cooler (lacking a better word) in the sense that I, personally, have always found Japanese to be a very beautiful and sweet/soft language, where Korean sounds grungier and more twangy, which makes for cool raps and stuff. It's weird that I find k-pop to be better in these videos cous I absolutely love Japanese music! I just tend to like softer and more often just bands, like, not boyband or girl groups etc. I think both genres has its strong points; k-pop is good with hip-hop, club music and all that in-your-face badassness, where I find calm k-Pop songs to be cheesy. J-pop does great with soft, calm and more pop like songs, and their "rock" just often sounds a bit too... Cute 😝

It's kinda hard to be a fan of jpop. I used to like Hey Say Jump for just a year but the first time I was exposed to kpop (BTS),I felt different and I thought that BTS is my first love.I've never felt this feeling when I watched Hey Say Jump......
I also love J-pop. During my teens I grew up with it. As well as American 90s-early 2000s pop music. When I heard K-pop for the first time, it sounded as if both my favourite genres of the past were meshed together. It was instant love!
I love both of them but let's be honest, kpop fans will obviously bash on Jpop because they think that Kpop is the best... Kpop fans are mostly teenagers or fangirls who argue between fandoms, Jpop fans are not like this because Jpop make music for a large public from kids to the oldest, they're pretty big in Japan. In Korea, a lot of people think that all Koreans listen to Kpop, but I don't think so... A lot of people are fighting because of these things. Jpop is awesome but Kpop is better. Even BTS themselves can slay. But Jrock is so hardcore and I am a big fan of One Ok Rock. But to tell you guys, BTS is Born to Slay.
Ok first of all, to everyone who assumes Jpop is rubbish, please leave. There is no point in trying to say that Kpop is the best. It is amazing and maybe the best to you, but not to everyone. As someone who, apart from kpop, listens to dubstep, EDM, trap, rap and metal, kpop has a wider range of genres so even i can enjoy it. Unfortunately jpop songs sound all quite similar and to top that i don't like those "cute" images (i don't even think that it's cute, that's why the speechsigns). SO it isn't because it's japanese, that i don't like jpop, it is because kpop has a wider range of styles (and good rap). I hope i don't get insulted but that is my opinion. I don't even like all of kpop, many songs are also this horribly cutesy but it's not the norm and there are plenty of groups that don't have that image.

kpop are songs you want to jam to while jpop are songs you'll want to sing on karaoke all day xD I find it hard singing to kpop songs but always have fun singing to jpop songs despite me still suck doing it lol I like both jpop and kpop but jpop will always stay deep in my heart. I tend to love a kpop song for weeks or months and love but I love and listen to a jpop song for years. for me, jpop stay relevant farther than kpop
IMO, I listen more to jpop because of Seven deadly sins, LISA, Aimer, Fo'xTails, Amazarashi, TK from Ling tosite sigure (more on the rock side though) and so much other bands/singers... BUT I do have one kpop groupe who I listen to and surpasses all of these and that is BTS or Bangtan, I love their music so much, but again that is just my preference.

And I like kpop as well, but they have so many similar genre for the music each other. For kpop, I just like big bang and 2ne1.
I also love J-pop. During my teens I grew up with it.
As well as American 90s-early 2000s pop music.
When I heard K-pop for the first time, it sounded as if both my favourite genres of the past were meshed together. It was instant love!

I love both of them but let's be honest, kpop fans will obviously bash on Jpop because they think that Kpop is the best... Kpop fans are mostly teenagers or fangirls who argue between fandoms, Jpop fans are not like this because Jpop make music for a large public from kids to the oldest, they're pretty big in Japan. In Korea, a lot of people think that all Koreans listen to Kpop, but I don't think so... So Kpop want to attract the teenagers so they have to be hot and do hard choreo and else, but Jpop does easy choreo for kids and fans to dance along with them in concerts and their songs are pretty soft, because people can relate with the lyrics (sorry for my English >

A lot of people are fighting because of these things. Jpop is awesome but Kpop is better. Even BTS themselves can slay. But Jrock is so hardcore and I am a big fan of One Ok Rock. But to tell you guys, BTS is Born to Slay.

Ok first of all, to everyone who assumes Jpop is rubbish, please leave. There is no point in trying to say that Kpop is the best. It is amazing and maybe the best to you, but not to everyone. I personally prefer Kpop, but I used to love Jpop more. At first I didn't like Kpop because of the fantasy, Kpop fans are so rude, not all of them but some of them. Sometimes it seems as thought Kpop fans don't really care about the music just about the looks, and that sickens me. It also annoys me that people keep saying "Jpop is so innocent" first of all what is wrong with being innocent? Second of all, you clearly have not listened to majority of Jpop videos. If Vocaloid counts as Jpop then listen to them, they are anything but innocent. So for those who are saying that Jpop sucks please stop, neither of them suck. The Japanese have more of a variety of genres. Where as Kpop has more dances in their videos. So please stop judging, they are both equal. 😊
2 groups slaying the world right now ... exo and big bang
As someone who, apart from kpop, listens to dubstep, EDM, trap, rap and metal, kpop has a wider range of genres so even i can enjoy it. Unfortunately jpop songs sound all quite similar and to top that i don't like those "cute" images (i don't even think that it's cute, that's why the speechsigns). SO it isn't because it's japanese, that i don't like jpop, it is because kpop has a wider range of styles (and good rap).
I hope i don't get insulted but that is my opinion. I don't even like all of kpop, many songs are also this horribly cutesy but it's not the norm and there are plenty of groups that don't have that image.
Waah, I like this kind of comment, it's constructive, not just a "Kpop is the best!" I understand your point of view >< that's why I don't listen to Jpop, I just listen to Johnny's Entertainment's songs, and they're not all the same, all the group have their own vibes and their style! In Kpop, they're all the same for me, I'm a Kpop fan but it's always the same with Kpop songs, sometimes I stop listening Kpop because of it x)

when it first started i was like there isnt much of a difference but as the video kept going i was like yup i totally see it now.
kpop are songs you want to jam to while jpop are songs you'll want to sing on karaoke all day xD I find it hard singing to kpop songs but always have fun singing to jpop songs despite me still suck doing it lol
I like both jpop and kpop but jpop will always stay deep in my heart. I tend to love a kpop song for weeks or months and love but I love and listen to a jpop song for years. for me, jpop stay relevant farther than kpop
IMO, I listen more to jpop because of Seven deadly sins, LISA, Aimer, Fo'xTails, Amazarashi, TK from Ling tosite sigure (more on the rock side though) and so much other bands/singers... BUT I do have one kpop groupe who I listen to and surpasses all of these and that is BTS or Bangtan, I love their music so much, but again that is just my preference.
now this is what we call a pretty fair vid. at least jpop isn't portrayed as a lowly genre. just can't understand why others display those vids when there are even a millionfold of descent ones. then they even say "this is my take on the 2 genres. i love both, it's for you to decide." this nonsense gives jpop a bad impression for those who don't know it yet.

i'm not beingg bias but i like kpop song more than jpop.. love their melody, rhythm of their music and the talent they possess bonus the looks.. but jpop though has a unique music and unique face which are also attracted . they are charming in their own . in my own perspective we shouldn't find negative side of each group.. even though they almost have the same music video. i admit there were time when i watch these vid. then a familiar mv or background without knowing who they are. i stop for a moment then oöh its????? but as soon as they're faces appear.. i was like again.. they are not kpop..
so guys i want to say it is not their fault.. we shouldn't judge.. we adon't what's the reason
