    I have some similar stories.
I worked on a turkey farm for 4 years. During my time there, another turkey farmer had passed away and we offered his family to take care of his livestock and the entire operation.
This guy regularly butchered some of his turkeys to sell in his wife's shop. Apparently, 2 weeks before he passed, he had slaughtered 8 birds but found something suspicious which the vet was supposed to take a look at.
The vet didn't show up in time, the farmer passed away and everyone forgot about that room with the decomposing birds in it.
We discovered this room only because of the stench that came from it. The carcasses were 6-7 weeks old by then.
It wasn't meant for storing meat so there was no refrigeration or cooling.
I wanted to take care of this situation so I put on a hazmat suit and a respirator mask (which I used when handling pesticides) and went in.
The entire room was full of insects and maggots. The floor was covered with blood that had turned brown and sticky and smeary. Body parts (from turkeys) were scattered everywhere. I'm not even going to try to describe the smell...
Fortunately, the floor and walls were tiled, which made the cleaning much easier. I got rid of the larger "chunks" first, used some strong cleaning-acid on all surfaces and cleaned out the rest with a pressure washer.
I was quite successful. This room is now used to store chemicals and pesticides (because of the tiled floor and walls) and no one knows what it used to look/smell like and what I had to go through. 😄

I remember someone mentioning that it was “raining” inside that car, my assumption being piggy condensation dripping back into the interior which is already horrifying on its own.
The second thing being how it ended, with a stressed out Jamie saying how he’d remember that experience for the rest of his life followed by the sound of a ghostly pig wail edited in right after he finished speaking.
And to think, this was EARLY Mythbusters. What a nice trip down memory lane (though I’ll bet not so much when it comes to remembering smells for everyone that was present there).

Adam is such a good storyteller. Being able to make something as gruesome as this so funny I'm in tears is pure magic. I think doing a book where he gathers all the questions from these lockdown ask Adam videos (and maybe additional FAQs and his own or friends/family members questions) would be an absolute gem of a book! Maybe we all should e-mail the Tested team just to get the idea out there. I really think it could make a fantastic (audio)book.

Reminds me of when my uncle used to go around salvage yards, he found an old Corvette of the same body style that had been in a bad wreck. There was a decent amount of blood still staining the interior, but the best find in the car was a Rolex stuffed between the seats that still had a bit of flesh in the band from when it got ripped off the guy's wrist. Nothing a bit of 90% iso won't fix.

As terrible as it sounds, I can relate. One of the strongest memories from my youth was working in a state trauma center as a 21 year old where one of my many unpleasant responsibilities was to move expired patients down to Clinical Eval (i.e. the morgue). We had an active helipad at this facility and I can't tell you how many bad car accidents came off the roads that prospective patients were in so poor a condition that we had to have someone follow us with a mop, and this was about as far as you could travel within the public areas of the facility, as the pad was on the roof and the ER on the ground floor through a labyrinth of hallways and corridors.
Anyway, one particularly hot summer, an elderly woman had gone to the grocery store at the far end of the facility's grounds that shared a parking lot to get her medications. She ended up parking on a side of the building least traversed as it was near the dumpster and loading dock area. It had been in the upper 90s/low 100s for a few weeks, high humidity, etc., so I suspect no one noticed the aroma coming from a particular green Lincoln until visible signs began to form on the windshield.
I'll leave out the graphic details as I'm sure your imagination will fill in the gaps, but I assure you, that is one smell that will forever remain in memory, as no amount of seals between the door and a body cooler will contain it.

As a forensics osteology focused human I cannot describe what it’s like to first see decomp for the first time. Also when I first started volunteering labeling in the dermestid beetle lab, my advisor took my into a separate shed in the back, shut the door, amd asked how are you feeling. I said I felt fine and he said good, this should be the worst enclosed smell you deal with. Then he started pulling full cougars and snakes out of a freezer to show what the backlog was like. Hey Jamie, for future projects (although I hope you do not find yourself in a similar situation) a parking brake can be released from under the car, provided it has a handle. newer cars have a system with a electronic motor. but if it has a traditional handle or a pedal (like many trucks) you can crawl under the car and release the brake

I'm pretty sure that can't even come close to comparing to these pigs, and it was still too much for me. I lasted for 45 minutes, maybe an hour of my shift before I was done.
