UAU, that was a fantastic short film. Well done. I bet it was a lot of work to get all of that together. RUclips is so competitive these days that if you want exposure you sometimes need to go the extra mile. I hope you are looking after your mental health. Thanks for the video.
The fishing film was a lot of fun. Do you find yourself using tubes often? Have seriously considered them, but suspect they'd mostly see use as hair lights or lighting backgrounds. And for those uses, there are so many options that are both more versatile and cheaper.
So at the end... Better to go with amarans and sidus link atm? Choosing between godox / aputure and nanlite....like for the price godox is great, but if we talk all-around...? Aputure? Actually was owner of VL300 + double VL200 and now looking for alternatives, though about SZ200II or Litemons...but dk, will appreciate you advice) Also have 2 soonwells tubes, they are great but I think I want to operate fr one app...dk
Amaran seems like a good all around option, yes. Like I said, the tech in Godox is ok but certainly not impressive. I've got a Litemon and it's fine enough, but it's really nothing amazing or wow. If you like the price tag it'll be a fine light. If you like Sidus Link and Amaran's price then those are just as great - I own and use both. :D
@@FellowFilmmaker from everything i've Litemons is just Godoxs Amaran...but more robust, quality of light all the same...if we talk about 100 and 200, if we talk about 60s I think quality side of Godoxs MLs + s2 are higher tier than Amarans 60s (you need s2 anyway to use heavy Bowen mods). Apps is like doing same thing) Sidus a bit better...a bit - main features are all same. Fan sounds nearly same...so why Amarans would be better? And if we talk tubes, is new amarans any good? Compared to Godoxs (looks like nanlite is number one, but price tag is insane...) And I don't get it, what "lack of techs" do you mean in godox light? What exactly?
Do you happen to own the Amaran T4C tube light? I'm trying to decide between the Godox TL120 and the Amaran T4C. For me it all comes down to which is brighter at 5600K, as I just need it to fill in a bit of shadow on a backdrop created by a mannequin.
I own an UL150 and an UL60 from godox - for video live music recordings - and I'm not sure to trust them anymore. The lights can't manage the weight of the Godox softbox dome and when trying it for the first time one of the wheels broke as it was too tight. Cheap plastic. Godox did send me a replacement wheel and surprise! It weights 19 grams. The other ones weight just 9 grams. They are using a new material BUT now I have 3 other wheels that will likely break at some point after spending a lot for a product and a brand I believed in... I'm sorry but this is worth to be known for other potential buyers. I could send pictures if you want to talk about it.
It seems your wish for a longer version of the TL60 from that other video came true then :) With the Pavotube 120cm/4 feet costing around 329 USD at B&H, and the Godox TL120 already being discounted down to 259 USD at B&H, which would you say is the best value for money in terms of just «lighting things» vs the additional features of pavotubes, build quality etc?
I did wish for one, and they made it. I'm happy enough with the size, just wished they had considered making some improvements to the control and tech inside the light. I'd say the Pavotube mark twos are cool with pixel tracking, but if you'll never use it, then a TL120 would probably do just as fine. So if that price appeals to you more, go with them. They are decent enough for the price tag. I personally like what Amaran has going on with their tube lights, but that's me :D
Just wondering... Can you divide these lights up into "sectors" so you can do a chase? I know when it is in "Police effect mode", it can give 2 sections... is there anyway to do that separately? I'd like to mount it for some poor man's.
Are you referring to some sort of pixel tracking or keyframing? To my knowledge these do not have such ability. You can group lights and have them turn on and off all together...
Great short film So I just finished your product video in the "tomorrow's filmmakers" pack and you recommended "Yongnuo YN360 II" under the small/tube lights. My question is; What is the difference btw Yongnuo YN360 II and Yongnuo YN360 III What is your advice between the two... (I noticed they designed the III just like the I) but II is unique
I don't use those tube lights any more, but they are pretty good tube lights all the same. The difference between the ii and iii is one can have an external rechargeable battery it uses while the other is internal. And the iii comes with a physical remote I believe.
Absolutely loved the short film. It works better without an actual fishing rod since you were catching light bars. Catching them with part of a C-stand is priceless. I love the creativity. The push-in in editing with you and Jimmy in the shot really helped sell the split-screen. I love when people do such a good job playing both rolls. I loved all the angles and the editing. These light bars look attractive but I don't see much use for them in the kids of projects I do.....until I do. You know how that goes.
Wow! Nailed the fishing film. 😂lol, Jimmy guy, was he satisfied with the final ending? 🤣 Beautiful lake. Would have preferred Godox TL120 if it had more customizations... Anyway, as of now, my favorite is TL60, portable and I personally feel more comfortable, does its job!😉
Haha, actually was gonna talk about the fishing stuff in a livestream maybe later this week :) So stay tuned for the bts on that! And I double myself with a clever mask and feathering :D
I have the shortest 4x30cm kit (tl-30), and they are great. Especially because the short ones have magnets on both ends i dont need any tripod for them. I just put them on shelf or acoustic panel. Only problem is, only 3 of 8 sides are magnetic (why?!) so somethimes you need to spin them 180 degree. Also, and this sucks, godox remote (RC-R9) doesn't work wtih TL-30, only with TL-60 and TL-120, you can still use app (which i don't as back panel of each tube is super easy to use, but still. WHY!?. Other than that i have no complains. After 3 hours of non stop work they still have 1 of 3 bars of on screen battery indicator, but i never tested how long they last as i don't want the risk of ruining material beacause of light dying. Sometimes i wish i also have set of 120cm (tl-120) as they look really nice just lean against the wall.
@@FellowFilmmaker Yup, instead of just doing it, we have to flip whole tube 180. I don't get why it is not magnetic on all sides. I sometimes whish i could put it against the wall so light is there, but not obvious. They saved like 20cents on that :D
My bad, it is a brighter light since it is bigger yes. However, I did not include it since it seems when I do readings on tube lights folks kinda get upset with me over how I do it and so I've skipped it this time around. But it is brighter a bit since it's got more light nodes in there :D
380 LIKES OUT OF 10K VIEWS that’s a travesty, this is one of my favorite videos of yours that was an incredible intro 👏 👏 👏
“Bigga an’ betta.” Solid accent there. Lol. Cool video!
Haha, thank you! Took Jimmie a few takes to get it the right way in a long sentence structure :D
Forget feet, meters, and yards, “Trash Bin” needs to become a standard unit of measure.
Haha! I know right?!
Fun Video.. Super creative!!! Tube lights look really great. I may have to think about getting one some day.
Glad you enjoyed it! :D
The fishing film you made is amazing.
Thanks so much! I was afraid folks would think it was lame
The short film, is very creative! And you pulled it off perfectly I almost believed it is a documentary :D
Thanks! 😃
Love it! Amazing color grading and exposure in your short!
Awesome!
Great video, love the humor!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
ahahahaha I love the lure!! started to laugh there!
Haha, so glad someone caught the humor there!
Well done, Heather!
Thank you very much!
Who gets me! I just really love this video
Glad you enjoyed the video
This was great! 😂🎉
thanks for watching

A hair light occasionally and then getting in hard to reach places is the other use I've had for them.

I have plans to!
Nice work. The story is a great on-ramp.
Thanks!
😍😍😍😂So great ! So Nice ! I like this short film 🤩👍👍👍
I'm glad you like it :)
I have a gaffer friend who bought 10 rental kits of the sgc prism tube lights. Yes, like $10k! Have you reviewed that tube light?

I have noticed that they can't support Godox's largest softbox, but a 90cm does ok on them
@@FellowFilmmaker The godox 120P can't... Details like this make the difference...!
@@FellowFilmmaker And thanks for answering!
For sure :D
What softbox is too big? I use 120cm octa with sl60w and it is fine but i think anything more will break it.

A usb c stick, since thats what the ports on the lights take 😁
I wish there was more mounting points like Amaran tc light.
Me too

It was a fun one to shoot
Will it ever going to have green-magenta shift ??
It doesn't have green/magenta shift control no
Not sure why, since it's RGB, but I just tested it and it doesn't have it
@@FellowFilmmaker yes I know. Just wonder if it ever will through firmware update.
The TL-15 has it!!
Hmm good question, but I'm not aware at this time
Kindly make a video about light stands and how to choose right light stand please 🥺
I will consider it
Thoughts on these vs Godox LC500R 💡?
I haven't used the LC500r yet, but in general you'll get more output out of these bigger tubes just because there is more tube :)
@@FellowFilmmaker Do you know the output of these in watts?
can i go with LC500R or Tl 60 kindly help me
