That is one of the finest goals you will ever see from anyone from any decade. Great to see it from so many angles, too. Shunsuke Nakamura; pure class.
I remember standing in work .. listing to this on the radio.. if that goal was in the premier league..it would be talked about for ever..as a celtic fan .. I won't forget
I truly believe, as someone who is not a fan of either team or of Scottish football at all, but who has watched this full match, that this is one of the most exciting games of football that has ever been played. It truly has everything, A wonder goal, a bitter rivalry with the stakes so high depending on the result of the match, a red card for a handball on the line, a saved penalty, a last minute goal where everyone goes mental. I come back to this again and again and I think I always will. I am now, 15 years on when everyone in the match has retired and the result basically doesn’t matter or have any impact on the modern standings of these two teams. Idk man just really good
The greatest rivalry in the world of football, unmatched! What a banger from Nakamura! Watching this for 3 times and still amazed by that goal, absolute beauty 🚀
We get little to no Scottish football in Texas, so this was the main matchup I could watch on the Tele a few times a year! People complain about the lack of quality in the Scottish League, but who cares. The intensity in some of these matches is on another planet!
Nakamuria goal was absolutely out of this world ‘ unstoppable finish ‘ possible the best strike on the half volley at distance we’ll ever see in Scotland league ‘ pure screamer 🍀🍀💚👍
I’m a Rangers fan and was gutted at the end of the match but it was a great game and another example of why this derby is just about unrivalled in world football
Nakas goal was amazing but when Novo equalised it meant nothing. I ran around my room when Jan scored. Jan's goal is the 4th best celtic goal in my lifetime. Just behind Mcdonald against AC Milan, Watt against Barcelona and in my opinion the greatest ever celtic goal... Nakas free kick at celtic park against Man U
for me the best goal for Celtic ever was the chip v Klose by oor King, then pretty much the same as yours mate along way nakas 2 free kicks v man utd at there and our grounds, Suttons volley vs Juventus needs a shout, will never forget it.
5 years on still can’t get over the fact that, that was nakamuras first old firm goal. He is an absolute legend in the Celtic history books hail hail 10 ina row !!,
what a season this was for Scottish football, Celtic reaching the last 16 , Aberdeen last 32 of Uefa cup and Rangers getting to the Uefa final , scotland beating france and nearlu getting to the Euro's , comming from a rangers fan i was sad that we didnt win the tittle but that season i will allways remember for us SCOTTS
Nakamura .... Wow.... what a beautiful and dedicated player.... I am so glad and honoured he played for Celtic. One of the greatest Celtic players ever. I actually named my dog after him also. 😀🍀⚽
I was there, what a night! A legendary game and atmosphere. My first 7 times attending these games I never seen Celtic win, seen plenty since though. This was an essential win that eventually brought an unlikely league title to Celtic Park following a late run of wins in the league. The league that was won in honour of Tommy Burns who passed away around that time (modern day Celtic legend).
If Naka had been wearing a Brazil jersey when he scored that goal, we would never have heard the end of it, especially from England (but from Scots too). We so under-rate and under-appreciate what we have at times in Scotland.
I was twelve-years-old when this match was played. I remember watching it at home with my mum and dad. Electric atmosphere. I can remember my dad saying beforehand it was a "must win". When McDonald missed the penalty, I thought that was it. Entire house began shaking when Venegoor headed the winner
I am Japanese. I think that Shunsuke Nakamura was able to shine so far thanks to Celtic, which has the best supporters in the world. Thank you for your impression, Celtic fans, and the old firm stadium!
Great assist from Gary Caldwell for the Nakamura goal.. wait did I just say that? What an immense game! Rangers got to the final of the UEFA Cup and tired but Celtic had been in champions league that season as well - we sealed it on the last day against Dundee United where big JVOH much like in this game scored the crucial goal!
This is my favourite Glasgow derby. A lot of Celtic fans will probably prefer the 6-2 game under O'Neill or the various big wins under Rodgers but this game had everything for me. A screamer from Naka, Scott McDonald making up for his missed pen and the euphoric finish with Vennegoor of Hesselink. Also a midweek night game which adds to the atmosphere.
Nakamura Shunsuke was the Japanese guy at Celtic 😎🥰🤩 I'm glad to have seen him since the 2006 World Cup in Germany - 2010 WC South Africa :'') Yeah! GOod Times!
One of the most important old firm derbies of all time, arguably THE most important. It secured Celtic the league that year when it was all but won by Rangers. Cuellar was a cheating rat denying Nakamura another wonder goal in this match.

One of the greatest goals of all time in my book
Nakamura should have had at least 2-goals in this match.
Blame cuellar for that
Nah 3 he had to take that penalty
If it wasn’t a handball then it would have been a goal and since it was a handball it was a pen
@@IK-pt3bl To be honest, it was the first career penalty miss by Scott McDonald.
Cellar the chest but last laugh in the end
