Thank you so much for this video Richard. Last winter I went up to the Artic and photographed the Northern Lights which drew me into trying to photograph the night sky, but in the UK clear skies are somewhat rare. While waiting for a starry night, I have been watching many RUclips tutorials and your Milky Way Editing & Blending is outstanding.
One never gets bored watching your tutorials as there are so many things to learn. Just cannot understand why would anyone dislike your tutorial !!! Thanks Richard for the last tutorial for 2019. Looking forward to 2020 and wish I can also make the trip one day to join you in your workshop in the near future. Best wishes.
Raymond Chua , there are always dislikes all over YT videos. Also on top contributions like in this channel. Probably they hit it accidentally and have no clue how to reverse it... 🤪
This is insane!!! Thanks for your knowledge, I am really happy knowing for the first time how can I use sequator and Photoshop as well as lightroom. Your image it is just stunning beautiful. Thanks for sharing this tutorial with us!. :).
Welcome to Australa Darrel, enjoy your trip Great video Richard Yes I know your booked out ooowell one day Love the photo Merry Christmas have a safe festive time
@@nightscapeimages.richard I just tried your editing process and my god it worked a treat, super happy with the quality of the final image and thanks again :-)
Once again Richard you have done us all a great service by sharing your powerful technique for beautiful nightscape images. I can't wait to go out and shoot my next one. Thanks. I look forward to your next show.
A great finale to your post editing series. I learned a new Australian term today, "...looks like a dog's breakfast" I had to stop the video because I was laughing so hard. One of the many highlights of your videos is your enthusiasm. I have caught myself giggling out loud in the middle of nowhere while light painting. It's just so much fun. Thanks again Richard!
Great finale to a super series Richard. I'm really looking forward to your Q&A vlog but won't add to the list as I've asked about light painting already. Judging by the number of questions posted you'll be doing well to get through them all - could even become a two-parter! Many congratulations on your richly deserved success 😀👍.
Hey Richard, another great tutorial. Like you have said many times, it does pay to go over the process more than once. Each time I watch an episode, something finally clicks into place. Also, you shouldn't be to surprised at your success on you tube and with the workshops. People want to learn from the best and right now that would be you. Keep up the great work.
Great video Richard, really liked how you explained your post production techniques, will go back and look for the others in the series. Yes picture was fantastic.
Such an inspiration Richard , It makes me want to get out tonight under the UK stars Thank you for the tutorial, think I would be lost without them . I'm yet to test my new F2.8 lens to capture the milky way but very soon will be.
Thanks so much Richard for this series!! I've been watching and now looking forward to when the Milky Way core appears again to try and capture it in my night images. Until then, lots of light painting and night sky blending to practice on... thanks again!
Thanks for all the great content Richard...keep answering those questions. I have taken star scapes, but not multiple images and stacking or star trails. I have both in my list and now that you've shown how i have nothing left to it but to do it. I'm in the US in Texas (howdy Darrell) and this time of year I'll be trying star trail. It would be a dream trip to head over your way and do one of your workshops. thanks again! russell
Hint for Mac users at about 9:20, for Mac, there is Starry Landscape Stacker (available in App Store), which works pretty much equal as Sequator (hope I wrote it correct) does. I suggest to make 3 dark images with the lens cap on and same exposure settings as for , they are intended to detect hot pixels of sensor and remove them automatically.
Thank you for making all this complicated stuff start to make sense! It's pure magic watching you turn these individual images into a masterpiece, one clearly explained step at a time! This video was so much fun to watch. Fantastic series! You are a natural born teacher so I'm not surprised all your 2020 workshops are already filled!
You are making things so easy to understand even to early begginers in photoshooting like me. Thank you very very much, and keep on this good work for us.
Thank you so much for your videos. By using them I was able to realise my aims of recording the Milky Way and a foreground in my images, and your teaching techniques are faultless. Australia's a long way from the UK but if I find myself your way again in the future I will certainly put myself on one of your workshops.
Your videos are down to Earth, fantastic and informative. Thanks for taking time to make this series for us. No worries about not remembering what year it is cause I usually can't remember what day it is much less the year!! LOL Cheers
I watched this for a second (third?) time and took some notes. Now I am ready to tackle an image (or several layers of one) I took a couple weeks ago, using your technique. If I can pull it off, I will be so excited. Fingers crossed!

Good on you Robby for getting out there to shoot. It always takes a while to get into the groove of nightscape photography but I'm sure you're enjoying the ride.
Great video Richard. I learned much more from watching this for a second time, after the farm workshop. I notice many more of the PS tips and techniques (sky "S" curve, photo filter, adjustment layers star minimisation/softening) sinking in. It looks so simple but in the end the outcome is overwhelming! Thank you, Richard, for the entertaining lessons you gave us this year. I wish you and your family a very pleasant season, Merry Christmas and all the best for 2020.
Fantastic Richard, very educational and not overly complicated. I use Affinity Photo rather than PhotoShop but most of these techniques translate straight across. Might need to do a bit more research into the translation of the star minimalisation technique. Looking forward to working thru the rest of this series.
