Whoa Nelley, 2002 and it's for you. We got the VIN, we win: 1G2 for US made Pontiac, WR52 for Grand Prix GTP, 1 for 3.8L V6 with MFI and supercharger, aka RPO code "L67", 1 is a check digit, 2 for the 2002 model year, F for Fairfax II assembly, Fairfax, KS and the rest is the production sequence. The Fairfax II plant opened in 1987 and still operates today. The 3.8L engine is an ultra reliable engine and when maintained they run forever with good fuel economy. This appears to be a Canadian destined car as the kilometer scale on the speedometer is the primary marking with the MPH being the secondary---look closely. We got the SPID, glad you did: AK5 for front seat inflatable restraint system, AL9 for driver's side lumbar seating, CF5 for sliding glass sunroof, CJ3 for manual auxiliary temperature control system, DG7 for painted electric mirrors, FAI for Fairfax II, Fairfax, KS assembly, FE1 for soft ride suspension system, FE9 for Federal emission control, FR2 for 2.93:1 final drive ratio, JL9 for front and rear power disc brakes with antilock, KA1 for seat heater, K05 for engine block heater, K68 for 105 amp alternator, L67 for 3.8L supercharged V6 with MFI, MN7 for 4T65-E four speed automatic overdrive transmission, heavy duty, MX0 for automatic transmission merchandising option, NF7 for NLEV Federal emissions, NP5 for leather wrapped steering wheel, PY2 for 16x16.5 chrome appearance wheels, QVG for P225/60R16 tires, UE1 for GPS communication system, UH8 for coolant temperature, tachometer and trip odometer, UV6 for heads-up display, U1C for AM-FM stereo with CD player and clock, U19 for kilometer speedometer, U77 for rear window radio antenna, U85 for eight speaker system, V73 for US/Canada vehicle statement, Z03 for appearance package, Z49 for mandatory Canadian equipment modifications, 77U for Dark Cherry exterior paint, 79I for Ruby Red interior trim, among other codes. Whoa Nelley, Poncho needed a new honcho. GTP might be for me. Ruby Red going to bed. Dark Cherry red and not much more can be said. That's it, time to quit. Leather didn't spend too much time in the weather. Going to be flat and that's that. 3.8 and used to be great. Going to get squished and not really is anyone but only slightly so for the Google Man going to be pissed.
HEY BEN DAM,, GREAT LOOKING SEATS INSIDE AND COLOR RACING STYLE!!!! THATS A NO CRUSHER GET THEM OUT!! JUST LIKE IN 1965-66 THE MUSTANG HAD THE PONY SEATS --GREAT!! THANKS .....
Wow! It seems like a shame to junk this one! For 238,000 miles, this is in really good shape! I really like the two tone interior on this! This is actually a nice car. Nice interior (Pontiac seats have good side support), great engine, and overall nicer than the exterior appearance would suggest. Seems like it could have been saved.
Wow pretty color and beautiful interior I've never seen one these my mother has a 99 Grand Am GT not like this tho..why was this thing junked someone don't know what In the heck he or she had they should have fixed it or sold it to someone to fix it you don't junk a car like this if it's a 40th anniversary edition crazy I'll bet someone will eventually buy it out of the yard before it gits crushed I'll bet..
I think the only special stuff that car had was the interior like you said and the hood scoops and a different rear spoiler I don't think it had any performance extras like on the suspension or the engine. I had a Buick regal GS with the 3.8 supercharged engine all the performance parts for the Pontiac with bolt on so the car was heavily modified. I was running a little too much boost and the engine ended up blowing lol😂
@@ClassicRideSociety They didn't want that much I definitely take the hood for those vents and the trunk lid for the special spoiler you could definitely get rid of those
That's not a stock exhaust The stock exhaust had a huge resonator muffler in the straight section after the cat where that one looks like it has a glass pack might be worth taking the rear section after the glass pack cuz that would mean it has aftermarket mufflers

that GP is really nice Benny, it looks like it could go back on the road again 👍
Back when Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick, had their own individual style.
They were overpriced cars and it's a shame that they won't bring them back.
I'm picking one up today with 107k miles on it for my son. We gonna love this baby
Nice find❤
That’s a shame. It looks like someone took very good care of it.
agreed. that interior was super nice
Interesting. Never saw one before.
We still see them from time to time in dealer service. Also get to see typhoons and cyclones every now and then. GM supercars ish!
I had a 95 two door GTP with 3.4 24 valve overhead cam.
Cool car I live the interior
Did I miss something? Why is it there? Looks like it’s still decent and was someone’s baby.

What a shame 🇺🇲someone should save it
That was a beautiful package…they were decent cars in their time.
Nice color seats. I had heard there were some special edition Pontiacs toward the last few years.

Besides the minor accident damage up front. Not bad shape for 238k
That odometer is in km so it actually has half of that amount in miles. Deserves to still be on the road.
Scoops, roof rails and spoiler bring a few bucks to the W body owners.
What’s it even doing in the yard! Someone needs to rescue it and put it back in the road! The Buick Grand Nationals had the same setup. Beautiful car.
I would take the seats matts hood supercharger and trunk

Nice for it’s age😊
agreed
The GXP model is the one that is sought after, with a 3.6 super charged engine!
Pontiac. Good thing it was discontinued when it was before it could get turned into a monster SUV Benny
Wonder why it ended up in the salvage yard? Too nice a Poncho to not still be on the roads. That interior was still good! A shame.
Cool 😎
So begs the question, why is such a nice Pontiac in the salvage yard ?
Your. Right. Very. Nice.
👍
💯✌👍

you probably right. I was just going off a quick Google search on it before I made the video
@@ClassicRideSociety a smaller supercharger pulley really makes those cars go. Cheap aftermarket mod
@darrenporsch l was not aware of a cheap but effective way to achieve more power 💪 such as the changing to a smaller pully.
That is alright 👍
@@garymckee63 oh yeah just check on Google there's a big aftermarket for these 3800 supercharged W body GMs

2256 40th GTP sedans made.
Parts on that car have some high resale value if you can find a buyer for them
Benny you take the supercharger ?
no only those two pieces on the roof
Mr. B. Here ! 🍺👀😎👍. Am a fan of front wheel drive, but this proves our society throws vehicles away ! 7000k so sad ! ⚰️⚰️
Well said!
🍸👀😎👍
3800 shame. I'd drive it but prefer the v8.
I too would prefer the 5.3 but it wasn't out yet in these. they should have made these AWD
Rear wheel 🛞 drive is the way they should have been.
@@ClassicRideSociety Totally agree
@@garymckee63 yup
Not my cup of tea...
Parts car for someone who has one of those...
agreed. that interior was super nice though
Those cars are such shit boxes lol.
