Amazing what you can do after a bowl of porridge !! The Scottish people really know how to enjoy themselves . Scottish dancing is so exhilarating and joyful .
@@josephineboase7440 I love dances from the Brittish Isles. I will try The Eightsome Reel in my new dance group. Last Sunday I taught them Postie's Jig. They loved it too. Always when we have a party, we dance English and Scottish dances. They are perfect party dances.
Weddings usually have simpler "Ceilidh" dances - so that beginners can join in. Certainly not this one, but I love the look of it. These "Reelers" do it differently to the RSCDS - much wilder!.
The whole square grows wider and wider, with the dancers too far apart to reel properly at this fast a tempo. Add the whirling twirling antics of guys who know better, it was a wonder the whole thing didn't break down! That's how you can tell.
It seems chaotic but organised at the same time as there was structure in the moves. It was gun to watch but it must be way more fun to dance!
its great fun to dance - and terrifying when you don't know where you're going!
That one man in the right corner at 1:38 with red/white socks and a blue dress partner is the only one who knows what to do!
He's a smooothe operator...i got a little bit mesmerised by his floaty demeanour haha
Reminds me of Moseley’s dancing in Downton Abbey 😂

Hats off for trying a 32some!
lol it is a merry mellee - a total mix of dances ;) a proper eightsome reel is great to see and dance
Yeah Im just gonna cover missed shots every shot is too much work 😂
The jocks are mad but I love you so much well done chaps
What fun A simpler time
great video
A tad more info, Jess, would not have gone amiss.
What the enormous group of 16 (?) couples achieved is quite amazing - it is meant to be danced like the eightsome with only 4 couples....
Fun, fun, fun......!!
What´s the name of this dance? The best dance video I have seen in years.
I think its a thirty two some reel !
@@josephineboase7440 Thank's!
@@UlfCarlsson1951 you’re welcome! It’s based on the eightsome reel

I make up all our dances. Here you can see one inspired by Scottish dances: ruclips.net/video/EgLw4wj1MO8/видео.html
Очень смешно смотреть на эти попытки успеть за музыкой😂
anytime you get people together to do period dancing theres always at least a few that have issues. Overall great job done by the dancers.
I am longing for a 64some reel or even better, 124some! After a few or two too much,
Simon Howie's band? Which Cale Ball?
Is this how wedding are in scotland?? It sounds fun...
