if you look at a lot of scott's old vines / old videos in general from 2012 - 2013 there actually is a lot of evidence that they were really close friends at some point (videos of them doing roller derby together, pushing each other playfully on an overpass, her poking his face, him doing lifts with her, etc.)
This is just my thoughts about some of the friction. The trio have been friends for a long big time and I think Scott was shocked how popular Avi and Kevin became. They are so very talented but Avi was slightly older and it showed. In the sing off days they had all just met and they were awkward around each other.
