When Sean dropped Jesus Price Superstar…
He was set to perform at a small club in Miami, wynwood area….
I was introduced to him by a mutual friend….
Prior to his performance, we were all backstage chillin….
The promoter came back there to ask if he was ready….

Before he went on stage, I noticed there was barely anyone there in attendance…
I asked him, you sure you wanna rock? There’s only about 5 ppl here!

Everyone has their favorites but Rockness Monsta was always my favorite. I got love for Sean Price (rest in peace) but Rockness Monsta was always my guy. But Sean does have some classic Hip Hop verses.

Amazing interview. Enta Da Stage is always in rotation. I grew up listening to Black Moon and BCC. Smif n Wessun, (Tek n Steele) OGC, Heltah Skeltuh (Ruck n Rock). When we called people underground and not selling out, this is what that meant to me. Independent thinkers expressed through art. Buck is a GOAT because I always remembered he was the first independent artist that put his team on. Aren't they owned by Clear Channel? That oligarchy takeover in the late '90s affected radio stations around the country. That's when all playlists became the same.
@@KtotheG you’re on the money with that. The “Telecommunications Act of ’96” changed the game for the worse. It gave corporations more power by allowing them to take over and monopolize media companies. Before that there were restrictions that tied their hands to how much they could own and that allowed more independent studios and labels to partake in putting out stuff over the airways. It’s why it wasn’t unusual to see acts from independent labels being played on BET and MTV alongside the major labels.
After that act was passed, you started seeing the major companies taking over news corporations, movie studios, and a bunch of tv and radio stations (in which many were independent) all over the country. They’re the reason radio went from sounding tailored to different markets all over the country to it all being homogenized to where no matter what part of the country you go it all sounds the same. It’s why radio no longer plays local artists from around the way unless that local artist is a major mainstream act who happens to be from that particular city.
Anyone who’s old enough to remember tv and radio before and after the Telecommunications Act knows how watered down (and degrading) the news, radio, movies, and shows had gotten over the years after said act was implemented.

I remember I spit a rhyme for him and ruck was surprised he thought I would be trash but to his surprise I was nice. From that point on I was with him in the studio, at his crib writing ✍️ smoking hella weed 😂😂😂. I remember he gave me tickets to his show at manhattan center backstage passes. I met buckshot, smith & Wesson, MOP, pharaoh Monch, gangstar (guru), the roots etc… talk about memories… I remember when I was selling ounces of haze when haze was popular. Ruck would come to my crib and by the entire QP good good times rest well Big brother LOVE BROWNSVILLE
