- The new acoustic Safe At Home sessions version of A Swallow On My Neck. Another fan favorite co-written with Morrissey. The original version of the song was a b-side on the Sunny single.

Dear Alain,
Zombieland is swept away every time an Aoidos starts singing !
Thank you for writing so many amazing songs.
Thank you for still singing.
Thank you for the cool clothes.
Be blessed Mr Whyte !
(seen you with Morrissey at La Mutualité in Paris early 2000s)
The best songwriters in music and lyrics combined. Its true art.
That bit though when the chords go down and the melody goes up - "I know I know I know"...
yes!! nice :0) no one can touch alain musically and moz lyrically
When people ask me “Where should I start with Moz solo?” this is the song. It is truly a masterpiece. Alain...so did you have the basic chord structure in place and then Moz wrote the lyrics and vocal melodies? Can you please share the story on how this song came to be? And when you first heard the lyrics and vocal melody, were you so happy? Did you ever have input on the vocal melodies while writing with Moz? Or, was that only ever his domain? So many questions!!! You are loved by many...and thank you for sharing your gifts.
Dear Alain: what a privilege to have you with us every night❤️ I am waiting every day something like this. And this song...Thanks for everything sweet Man! Cheers from Salford 🇬🇧
What a great progression! This one is really lovely ~
Maestro Alain
🙏🙏🙏❤️💪
Beautiful!! xx
Alain you really are a prolific song/music writer. The list of absolutely outstanding songs that you have written just goes on and on. You are are right up there with some of the greats...
Thanks that means a lot
Only our Moz could rhyme boring men with crematorium on a tune as catchy as this and then sell it off as some old, B-side celluloid! Awesome as always, Alain! 🤜
Right? Totally brilliant lyricist
I know I know I know....
But I dont mind.... dont mind
Great Alain...
Alain......you are very much loved and appreciated by us "older" Moz fans.....I was fortunate enough to see you and the rest of the gang in San Diego in May 1991. I was 17, front row and loved every minute :)
thanks for the wonderful songs and memories
Awesome man!! :)
Each to its own.. Simply beautiful song... Long live Alain! I want your solo stuff coming through...
ohh Alain, how I love that way of playing the guitar ....!! Thanks So Much....
Yay, my favourite Morrissey song
Wow almost everyday you please us! And what a stand up guy you are to give us that respect as fans! There’s not many left Alain ❤️
Thank you for your support it means a lot :)
👏👏👏👏👏
Oh - and honestly, thank you SO MUCH for showing your guitar/hands on these videos. I can’t be the only out here trying to learn this stuff, right? 😅 That intro!! D chord powers unlocked! What the heck is that chord at 0:26? Thank you. Much love!
Kind of a G major 7 shape but a 2nd inversion with the root note being B. Hope that helps. Thanks for your support . :)
alain whyte Thank you! 😅🤯
Thanks for doing this again, Alain. I always wondered why this was a B-side. Just a perfect fit musically and lyrically. “Older and wiser never applied to me”! ⭐️☺️❤️
BRILLIANT 🖤 ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS EVER
This was always one of my favourite Morrissey songs, great tune and brilliant harmonies - I think the production was top notch on the 'Sunny' single, but "Swallow " was way too good for a b-side and should have been an album track - just as so many others should have been. Fantastic writing pal, at least you know a lot of people recognised the writing between Moz and you was truly great.
So many tracks get the credit they deserve as time passes. Nice one, thanks Alain lad!!
Alain, I just discovered your channel and I’m so glad you’re sharing these songs. I’m from Detroit and you guys opened the show with this “hidden gem B-side” at the State Theatre back in 2000. It’s one of my favorite songs from your catalog with Moz. Brings back great memories. Keep posting!!!
So perfect. Thank you Alain!
Such an underrated songwriter.
This is one of my most favorite of your melodies :)
more uptempo, great guitarplaying, . Fantastic vocals. Whyteside Forever.
Thank you man. I appreciate you my friend :)
I love this song👍
Absolutely love this track Alain.
One of my favorites. You are the melody maestro/riff master, Alain. Thank you & more, please!!
A beaut!
This is why I bought every single.
One of the greats! Love the guitar in this! Cheers!
Why was this a B Side? Brilliant tune. 1995 forever.
You're hardly a simple man Alian. I know I know I know! I'll love this song until the end of my time. Thanks
Wonderful
Well done, Mr. Whyte!
You played this at my only Morrissey concert at the Avalon, Boston 2000.
Bloody brilliant 👏, sound quality is perfect and that Gibson sounds lush
Thank you! I love this song
Brilliant..and to think this was a B-side as well💯
❤❤❤
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Could you please do something from maladjusted ? Some people think its not a great album but, very untrue to me. I’m going to ask you more than once but, understand if you don’t 😀 love and respect always!
I’m focusing on mainly early stuff but in the future for sure but I agree with you. Maladjusted was a very good writing period for Morrissey hence the body of work. I think it’s underrated too.
alain whyte ty for that Alain it means a lot to me ❤️
Maladjusted and Trouble loves me stand out
Those beautiful minor chords.
Your videos remind me of when Morrissey had good musicians and good music. I find myself listening to his music again, no politics. Lol
hi there great work just wondering what the chords and key are ! thank u :)
How can this have ever been a b-side?
1 thumbs down for this?! Anyone else think that's probably Morrissey 😆
Nice pyjama
every morrissey b side should have been the a side almost. great song
