- This song was written by long-time Morrissey co-writer, guitarist and music director, Boz Boorer. I had the pleasure of playing on the track for its original release off of 1994's Vauxhall And I record. Today's acoustic Safe-At-Home session track is Now My Heart Is Full.

I met Boz in the late 80's when he was manager of Howlin' Wilf, i forced myself on him at the Dublin Castle claiming I could produce some stunning artwork for their next lp. His favourite expression was 'wild!' I remember saying to my girlfriend 'everything is wild! with Boz' he showed me a letter in crayon he bought at auction that belonged to Marc Bolan, such a warm, lovely, unpretentious funny guy, he asked me who my favourite band were I said 'the Smiths' 'wild!' came the answer, funny how things turn out.

Hey Alain, if its possible do you think you might be able to do a segment dedicated to explaining how the production of Vauxhall came to be.
It's such an interesting sounding album.
It's got such a low fi- hi fi quality that is so awesome.
I believe this was Morrissey lyrical masterpiece and the music was the same. The bass playing is absolutely unreal
This particular album, if I was stranded on a desert island would be the one I would want to have with me!

I agree it has a unique sound but almost the opposite of “Lo-fi”. I remember Caitlin Moran described it in the NME as “recorded in gorgeous-o-scope” which I still think is perfect 😊

Oh, speaking of Boz - after a show I went to a restaurant with a bar in LA and turned around and there he was. I covered my mouth in shock and he looked at me and did jazz hands. Hahahaha And that’s how I met Boz.

This song is always played in our house, never tried to delve too deeply into its meaning, Morrissey comes up with some really fantastic lyrics and his awesome melody makes it one of his best songs ever in my humble opinion...just played this at the breakfast table in our house and we were all singing along with you....thanks Alain, we loved it👍

I thought about requesting this song but didn't want to bombard you with lots of requests. I think you did great on this. I remember getting Vauxhall and I when it was released on the first day. Actually I had to work so my aunt went to the store and picked it up for me and dropped it off at work. She put up with my Moz obsession lol ( and yes I was really obsessed with him in my younger days!) I would like to hear Spring Heeled Jim at some point. That could sound interesting acoustically.
I’m winding this up soon and I won’t play that one even though it’s fantastic. It’s mainly my songs, covers and ones I’ve written Morrissey. Somebody here won’t be here next week lol. Time for a break

Nice job . the classic moz sound melancholic but dreamy at the same time. "Lifeguard on duty" and "The edges are no longer parallel" would be good songs to do as well.
