Fighters should just unionize. A CEO is not your friend. They will always optimize for margin expansion at the behest of the actual labor force. Unionize and you'll solve a ton of problems almost instantly. Even the threat of unionization is enough to force action oftentimes
Unionize? So the top fighter will make as much as the bottom fighter?!? LOL! Good luck with that! Like Dana said, this isn't a job. It's an opportunity.
The NBA, NFL, NHL, etc are all unionized and the top guys do not have the same salaries as the bottom guys. Unionization is not communism. Most of you have 0 idea about promo fighting as a business in general, that's why you sit around comment sections hating lol. Boxing is very different than just the singular organization of UFC. Only the top boxers make the biggest money, but UFC has a more standardized and consistent source of income for fighters. It offers a job. That's why you see top fighters from UFC try to leave because of the bigger bag at the top. Also, UFC is a sustained business that additional to financial compensation, offers the greatest platform on Earth for any fighter to build their personal brand. Most boxing events are exhibitions for only the top boxers to grab as much money as possible. TLDR; They are totally different and comparing them does not make sense.
I agree in the sense that the UFC is an organisation that is run as a proper business from the bottom to the top. There’s no such thing in boxing, it’s promoters and sanctioning bodies but there is no organisation , so it’s a bit like you go out fishing and hope to catch as much as possible each time but you are not responsible for the sea itself , the UFC owns a chunk of the sea and needs to make sure all aspects of the ecosystem function and are profitable , so it’s not possible to throw as much money into the fighter’s purses. It’s a different dynamic entirely. I love boxing by the way , so I’m not even trying to defend Dana.
Boxing in Saudi Arabia is smashing ufc to the ground! 20 fighters in boxing got paid more than 5 million each some over 10 million dollars each. UFC fighters get F all. 😂😂😂😂😂
Until they get tired of losing money and entertaining themselves. It's not like it's a legit business model with intentions of growing and running great fight cards.
@@mikko3 you're a fool. the only stat that matter is the split. every major sport is like 50 50 split of revenue between athletes and suits. ufc pays the athletes 15%. if you can't understand that simple math then, like most ufc fans, you're hopeless.
He’s right, The business will continue to go on because it will always be crash outs willing to fight. Boxers however seen fighters in the last get used and abused for decades.
When the company was losing the fighters weren’t looking at giving up their pay. Now that the company is finally profitable they are all there with their hands out.
The UFC has taken over as the best combat sport in the world all because the best fighters in the UFC can’t wait to fight each other, while in boxing, they all just avoid each other.
The sad part is the fighters who complain and still work for mr. Crabs. If you dont like the pay, the benefits, then quit. No one is forcing fighters to fight for peanuts.
Earnings should be paid according to views and sales aka 50% to UFC and 50% to fighters broken down to 20%:30% ie extra 10% winner. In additiom Both fighters and UFC pay 'player tax' of 10% grosse takings directly to all fighters in UFC (evenly spread). Everyone wins.
I do think there needs to be a retirement plan for fighter in contracts.. certain percentage automatically goes into a fund for them later on. If a fighter has 10-15 fights for ufc they should get a set amount after say 50 years old it’s 2k-2500 a month plus insurance. Wouldn’t take much and would be very beneficial
“No one really knows what these guys make, and truly they don’t want you to know, and don’t want to tell you.” It’s the same quote every time yet we know that they don’t make as much as they probably should and most don’t make good money. I wouldn’t want to tell someone my pay either if I know how embarrassing it was for my profession.

@mhxxd4 What makes you think he's a great boss? Also are there any former employees of Dana who say this?
I’m a boxing fan but MMA is a great sport. Fighters should know their worth especially in such a punishing sport.
Yea by KOing Dana everyday till he pays properly nothing will change for those fighters.
Your videos are a breath of fresh air, always enjoy watching
Most pro sports teams split revenue like 45-55%. UFC fighters get like 15%
Fighters should just unionize. A CEO is not your friend. They will always optimize for margin expansion at the behest of the actual labor force. Unionize and you'll solve a ton of problems almost instantly. Even the threat of unionization is enough to force action oftentimes
💯
Unions are noones friend
Is the way that Dana and the UFC better in some aspects than other sports? Definitely. Should he pay the fighters, who are the product people want to see and are a primary reason why the revenue is being generated more? Also definitely.
The two arguments are not mutually exclusive.
Very true that's why he pays him now $300000 instead of $50,000 Because the top fighters wanted to unionize
I stopped training mma when I saw how little they are paid and seeing the uFC take away walk out/fight gear sponsors from the fighters.
Hope you went to boxing, now if you are lucky you might get a food coupon as a pay
Lmao this guy is a clown
Definitely is and I'm shocked he's allowed to slave these dudes
Clearly Dana is the Don King of MMA… he keeps the majority of the revenue
He is worse his fighters cannot even have their own endorsement deals. Apparently, how does he get away with calling them? Independent contractors when they sign exclusive contracts in the UFC controls everything.
Boxers are independent. UFC is a league like the NFL or NBA. You can’t compare the two. Also, look at the actual numbers.

Bruh, UFC fighters do one boxing match and they never go back to MMA. Wheres Francis? Wheres McGregor? They aren't concerned with getting in the ring for $250k when they are making $90 million for a boxing match.
How did Conor get the 100 million, it was Dana allowing it and from Conor getting famous from the UFC. If Conor was a boxer he’d earn almost nothing until he’s a title fighter

As long as UFC fighters never unionize it never changes. Kobe went to a fighters retreat and indirectly tried to tell them.
Honestly at first I advocated for more fighter pay, but the more I looked at it, Dana is right. Fighters on average get paid better than boxers and boxings way of doing business is antiquated and killing them slowly

Thanks for keeping us updated! I feel sympathy and empathy for our country. low income people are suffering to survive, and I appreciate Deborah Lee Clark. You've helped my family with your advice. imagine investing $30,000 and receiving $95,460 after 28 days of trading.
I began investing in stocks and Def earlier this year, and it is the best choice I've ever made. My portfolio is rounding up to almost a million and I have realized that when a stock makes it to the news, chances are you're quite late to the party, the idea is to get in early on blue chips before it becomes public. There are lots of life changing opportunities in the market, and maximize it.
What opportunities are there in the market, and how do I profit from it?
You can make a lot of money from the
market regardless of whether it strengthens or crashes. The key is to be well positioned.
I would really like to know how this actually works.
All you need is a good capital and the
service of a professional broker, with those your investment will most certainly produce high yields.

People look at the likes of canelo, fury, Joshua, wilder, and compare their pay to the ufc fighters.. those guys are main event guys, who usually takes most of the pay for the particular fight card.. beside the main event, other boxers makes same to less than what ufc fighter would make in a card

LOL it's going to be like the LIV golf league. Making all that money ain't no one watching 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The people do not understand how the business works. You have to make people happy. If there isnt enough money, people are not going to get paid.
They fail because they cant get the fighters because he got them under contract 😂😂😂😂 he didnt tell yall that.
Fury and usyk made more than all the UFC fighters put together
Earnings should be paid according to views and sales aka 50% to UFC and 50% to fighters broken down to 20%:30% ie extra 10% winner. In additiom Both fighters and UFC pay 'player tax' of 10% grosse takings directly to all fighters in UFC (evenly spread). Everyone wins.
I was with him until he said boxers call out UFC fighter because “that’s where the money is” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 he did a line before this one
MMA fighters will never compete at the high level because they’ve study other fighting styles whereas boxers focus strictly with movement and hands.
Your right Boxing and UFC is an opportunity but you know that you can admit your fighters need more $ or they wouldn’t be transitioning to Boxing to make big fight $
