I had a look at the Chemtronics range: it is quite big: the wick size, the braid size, the clean/no clean, lead/led free, and everything I forgot.

which one of them stays together the most? in other words, which one is strongest/thickest and doesnt come apart? all the cheap ones i bought from china spread out when you apply pressure which is annoying and doesnt get the job done

That one is easy; it's the chemtronics. It's made as a woven tube, so it's near impossible to get it to spread apart. I felt it was actually too stiff.

Do you have some solder you can recommend? I don't mind if its lead.
