  • Climbing Mt Daniel, Dip Top Peak, Mt Hinman, and others near Daniel, Washington Cascades. This place is about 50 miles from Seattle as crow flies. Mt Daniel is a popular climb with a super highway to the top(As a climber sees it). The other peaks are more remote without trails so one seldom sees another while on the nearby peaks. Randy :)

What time of year did you do this climb, looks pretty epic, planning a backpacking trip here this year and this look like a great time to do it

I usually do this climb in August or in September. In June or earlier July the river crossings may not be possible. The rivers runs too high and you have to drive through a river 3-4 feet section of deep. Wait to later in the season. Expect 1 to 3 days if you do the circuit from Mt Daniel to Marmot lake and back. It can be done in 1 day or multiple days. If you go for 1 day, expect to spend 15 or so hours non-stop.

@@RandyT_RandyLikesToClimb The Forest service says the road is open now, depth 12 inches. I'm planning on climbing the Lynch glacier from Marmot lake in a month. Do you think it will be possible to camp at Jade lake that time of year, or still covered in snow?

@@horus909 I ususally make my approach from I90, Rosyln, Salmon La Sac... I usually won't go until after July 4th because of a couple of high rivers. Later in they typical season they are easy to cross. Now you might need extra car clearance. I have seen cars get stuck in the middle of the river before. Marmot Lake should be snow free now. Jade Lake I would think is also snow free. If you have any other questions, just let me know. Randy :)

Is that a trailhead for Daniels I see on the other video? I live just 20miles west of Hinman and have walked up it a few times, but was unaware of the daniels walk.

@@sevtecsev The drive out I assume your speaking about. Yes. You can climb it from Hinman, I have and it can be long. From memory, the trailhead, is north of Salmon la Sac. the same trail head for deep lake, and Peggy's pond.
