@@chrismullin3986 Stop with the porsche involvement. You take away credit from people who actuallyade this. Same with stupid 'porsche' rumours for Legacy 3.0r spec b. It was subarus own work entirely. Porsche was preoccupoed makong their stupid ims issues ridden engines at the time. Theynonly helped Audi with early rs cars.
@@Kacpa2Facts! The primary engineering input came from Porsche who was developing a similar V6 before selling the engineering to Ford, and Cosworth, who helped with cylinder head manufacturing. Initial concept design work was contracting to Porsche. Engineering, resulting in a full main bearing girdle similar to the Porsche 928 V8. That's why the engine has that characteristic Porsche sound.

Have mine for 10 years now. Small mods make a great sounding car. highly under rated. Very rare car. Get the stare down everytime I drive it. Good collectors car. Faster than you think
What mods did you do, and are they good for diy?
Agreed just finshed doing the poly bushes on mine
@@bramschmitz99 custom exhaust, headers, intake with cobb filter, dastek piggy back with custom tune. Makes around 180kw. Can't do much more without higher compression pistons or a turbo conversion. See Noble M400. Uses the same engine.

Had my panther black 220 for 7 years .. love it! More work and a few mods to do though ✅
Panther black is one of my favourite colours. When it's fresh and clean that pearlescent black looks soo good

I dunno if you are still looking but with a bit of maintanence, you change some of the axles, oil, the usual and it would probably run you over 300000 km with ease.
I see you don't drive your ST often. My ST got 350000km on it 😬

How are they with reliability?
At the moment I roll in 2000 Lexus GS430 V8 but completely out of the blue this idea of Mondeo ST220 popped into my head... 🤔😄
That's a solid engine you have already. But yes the mondeo is relatively reliable. Makes good power and is pretty solid with a few a mods too. If you got some spare money 500+ is easy to make

Hi, I have this car on my cars-to-buy list. Is it really expensive to maintain for young person if we compare it with casual 2.0 car? Regards bro.
Hi, I also had a 2.0i and now I have a 3.0 v6. And yes, the ST220 is more expensive to maintain and run. But 2.0i will never put as many smiles per mile as the ST220. It's best to do a research, put everything on paper and then you'll see if you can afford the ST220 or not. Cheers
The maintenance for the car is not so expensive if you take good care of the engine and change the oil and filter regularly at each driven 6000km. But do not use the OEM Ford 5w30 oil but instead the castrol 5W30, because it makes a huge difference, believe me I know the difference till now owning already the third ST220. End the rest of the parts are the same except of the ST220 only specific parts, but the brakes are same as on the regular MK3 Mondeo. Additional has my ST the LPG komplette system installed, meaning the price per LPG comparative to the diesel Skoda Rapide 1.6 from my wife is the same. To explain I pay the same or even less per driven 1 km road as my wife when I drive on LPG and not on gasoline. And the difference ist not noticable but the smile stays always when you drive 😁. It is the best natural aspirated daily Ford ever made in my opinion not like the Focus ST225. I hope you will buy one someday but be careful that the engine ist been good taking for specialy the bearings on the crankshaft and always warm up the engine it's the rule no. 1, rule no. 2 check always your oil level with the dipstick and then you are good to go 👍.
I'm sorry mate but a nice car but i think you frightened of it , as soon as you get in third you take the foot off ???? sorry if its a bit negative but just pointing it out if you was going to really test the car then i would of found a better road as i just wanted to hear that V6 go higher up the gears.

Everbody is talking about how great italian engines sound. But If you would ask me US car culture makes the best engines sounds.
I prefer a deep US V8 over europeans higher pitched V8s for example. Same goes for V6 of course. That somewhat deeper rumble ist definetly US inspired.
Triumph Stag V8 has a pretty good sound. Also Alfa Romeo V6 Busso in the GTV6. But yes, American V8s sound great.

There fast i have one
0-100kmh 7 seconds without tuning. Doesn't take much to get it faster. Little tuning gets it even faster. Mine goes over 260kmh with only exhaust and catalysator replaced.
@@itzsonne5702 yeah but you have to brake 100 meters before other cars and take corners like a boat..
@@albertorossi2112If you tune the ST220 you must also tune the brakes you can use the brakes from the Focus ST MK2.😊
