Do you get sound of air in front of you and from under the bonnet when the revs build up? Just picked one up and it has a K&N kit - wasn’t sure if they’d messed up the induction 🤔
If you have the kone filter yes intake sound will be louder and there's alot of debate regarding heat soak. I've got the K+N panel filter in the oe airbox and can't say I notice induction noise. This option is thought by maney as the best option especially when you consider extra costs for fancy induction kits verses standard airbox with performance panel filter.
I get 17mpg out of mine steady away. I run it on super unleaded. Best I've ever had was 34mpg back from France. Its always been a love hate relationship with mine, I love the car (magnum grey estate with sunroof and infra red recaros) but hate the mpg. I've owned it 11 years now and we're still friends

On a steady run usually get around 30mpg but driven hard it's about half that
