Hiya! Great video. The internet is like anything else, it's how we use it that makes it an either positive or negative thing. Personally, the internet helped me, in the exact way you describe, by helping me feel less alone and finding people who struggled with similar issues. The internet is also a great way to find information that you might not otherwise find. I only realised l was trans because if the brave people sharing their stories. Like you, the internet now gives me purpose and has turned my challenges into a positive, in sharing with others to help them in turn I am so grateful for the online community and you are a wonderful addition to it! Thanks for a great video.
I think the internet, especially social media has been so helpful with my social anxiety and connecting with people that inspire me or I can relate to without feeling awkward and not knowing what to say
well done , i admire your bravery and determination to reach out to educate many about your condition. As mother of ten with depression I came here just to share my life struggle wondering if there are any mothers out there like me,it's always nice to know you're not alone in your struggle. my youtube and Instagram is basically an online diary of my life as a mother of ten with depression. As i am alone with no family support i find these platforms more like writing a diary, what I post inspire my own-self and free my busy mind from wondering around. Thank you for sharing with us. take care xx
Hey Beverley! This is a lovely video and I totally agree with you: the internet is an amazing tool and, used with a loving heart, it can be a fantastic tool for us to gain and also give out positivity into the universe. I love learning through You Tube, Khan Academy, FutureLearn, Openlearn etc, and also virtually travelling around the world via StreetView - I've 'visited' the Pyramids, Singapore and New Zealand that way 😊

I hope this video helps some of you, we hear so much negativity about the internet but it is a real lifeline for so many of us xx
This is an interesting concept. Usually we just hear about everyone being negatively affected by social media. Interesting video!
Yeah i don’t think people even consider how it can be such a lifeline to people like me who are mostly housebound xx
I feel it is a double edged sword
When my mental health is really bad I do stay off social media tbh.

It’s so important because we can’t always talk to family about it xx
