I’ve just started training at Emirates and I’m 30 years old 🎉 I haven’t come across any older new joiners yet. At my old airline in Australia we would sometimes hire crew in their 50s! I’m so happy to know that if I want to go back to Australia and continue to fly I’ll have no problems in regards to age.
Hi! I just want to ask if EK has age limit for the cabin crew? Coz they’re hiring here in mnl this week and i dont know if me and my friend should go. We are ex crew and we are 38 and 40. U think shall we try it?
Qatar is hiring right now! I wanna try out :-) the yoghurt story is wild, but dont let it stop you, thres no job security in the world, except your own thing, like this great channel and the coold edits. cool anime references.
I passed the final for Qatar at 36. With no cabin crew experience but a lot of customer service experience though. That of course doesn't necessarily mean, that I got the job, yet. But it gave me a lot of confidence because I was going to the open day worried, that they will cut me off right away because of my age...which I realised is not a huge hindrance when there was just 6 of us left. So, just want to say, there is a hope folks! I personally love seeing older cabin crew but it's true you don't see them on the ME airlines. Let's change that 😉
Hello Dear, I have nothing to do with cabin crew life or Emirates but somehow I popped into your videos and it was soooo funny and informative that I could not stop it and literally watched them all in one go. The way how you talk about those years it makes me regret that I did never tried to be CC at Emirates when I was 20 years younger :DD Hope to hear more stories from you. Best wishes from Hungary
Hi Eva! Thank you so much for the lovely comment. It makes my day when I read comments like this. 🥰🥰🥰 I’m super glad you found my channel entertaining. Thank you for your support ❤️❤️❤️
If I may add some mustard to the point of Job Security in this industry. I highly stress (try not to stress, its unhealthy ✌) on that point as much intense experience it may be the years in this industry, at the same time its like you have to be a robot to be constantly alert of what comes out of your mouth or even your colleagues you surround yourself. Its literally like walking on egg shells as Aura said with the consequence of losing your job. Having said that, the fear factor (whatever military tactics a company uses) plays a huge role in your life which equals a manifested stress and is considered as "normal" because everyone walks on egg shells, BUT thats not human ☯working in this occupation. I worked for them 9 years and puff I was gone. Thank you for your pure and transparent video 💚 for the ones who consider joining the skies in this field. Its good to be made aware as your title suggests "Ugly Truth" 🕵
Thank you so much Marcus for you support and input. It's definitely not easy working there. The fact that you can give years to the company but be tossed out in a second is very scary. It's not a bad field to come into but you should come in with caution.
I was thinking going to open day recruiting to Emirates. Watched a couple of videos that clarify my doubts that I've had in my head. And your video was the one that put the last nail in the coffin. I was like: I am so sure they are gonna refuse me and my CV. And you gave it the answer. AGE. I am a " dinosaur" with 52 years old. I was so sure that this " detail" is gonna close all the doors to my lifetime dream. It is what it is. Let's move on. Thanks for the vídeo 🙏. You are funny btw 😂. I wish you good lucky. Fingers crossed.🤞
Thank you so much. It's a shame that these companies see anything above 30-32 "old". But depending on where you are in the world you still might have a chance of making your dreams come true. For example a lot of airlines in Europe don't have an age limit. And I've seen many 40 year old's and 50 year old's join as new comers. So maybe it's still possible. I wish you the best of luck!
No options to prove this is the best Aviation channel I ever seen cos u motivated us n handle how to Built n go the right path...Hat's Off Aura Akkio wanna more videos like this... Stay Safe n God Bless u ❤️🌹
I'm so glad I find this video. I am 49, but people are always guessing that I'm 35 at the most. I'm in a good health and last month I've come across on Facebook that Emirates are recruiting a new cabin crew. So I've clicked on it and first thing I was searching for was the maximum age limit, which was not mentioned. So I thought I could have a chance because I would probably pass with all others criteria. I knew I'm probably "too old" for them, even though I feel very young and energetic as I was at 30. So I was thinking to go to an Open Day and if they see my looking much younger, they maybe will ignore my age written on my CV. But watching your video opened my eyes. According to what you describe, .y chances are zero. If the Open Day were at my city, I would say to myself go and see how it goes. But it's not. I would have to pay for a hotel etc. They SHOULD mention maximum age, as they openly do with the minimum age. I would prefer honesty over fake hopes for older candidates. You are very kind sharing your experience with us.❤
I hope you didn’t have up because of this video. Age is just a limit. And only one thing can stop us from getting what we wish for ourselves is own fears.
@@malgorzataollek8449 Thank you for your encouraging words. I've applied on Emirates and got rejected right away. Then I decided to apply to Etihad and I got shortlisted, which I really didn't expect. Still a lot of steps ahead of me but at least I telling myself that if my age would be such a huge issue, they wouldn't send me invitation for video introduction. So, I'm at waiting mode now and at least I know I've tried. 🙂
It’s so unfair when they don’t say the age limit, so we wouldn’t waste our time going to these open days.. I was 33 when I went to my first and last open day and I thought I was too old for them..( I was right).. I went see how it goes, and she’s right. Usually they hire girls in the 20s and for a man is quite difficult or they make it difficult asking for another language, such as mandarin …Another thing is, they are very racist so they hire based on physical appearance.
@@WTFuc4 I've tried with Etihad and got shortlisted, which gave me to.much hope. I've been invited to do video introduction, which is the step right after applying. So I've said to myself that there's a chance. They must have noticed my year of birth and if it would be such a problem, they would have reject me at the beginning. I was happy and waited for 3 months, patiently checking my application status every day. And a few weeks ago, it did changed from Assessment in progress to Interview in progress. So it gave me even biggest hope. I've been again shortlisted and passed the video introduction thing. I've been invited for an Open Day in my country. The email stated that one day would be an Open Day and another Assessment Day, if you've got selected. So I was sure, I logicly would be selected, since my application status was Interview in progress. I traveled to another city and booked a hotel for 2 days. But guess what? I haven't been selected and didn't made it to an Assessment Day next day. I've been asked at Open Day my age and I saw a reaction on one of the recruiters face that showed me is a problem. He was smiling st me the whole time before and then something had changed. He even asked me why do I want to become a cabin crew now and not years before? I'm sure that because of my age I didn't make it and got rejected. Still the same complain though. WHY did they passed me to those stages if they knew there's no chance for hiring people my age. And the sad thing about it is that I believe I would be really good at this job. I know how physically demanding job it must be, but I wouldn't apply if I would think I couldn't handle it. Mentally, I strongly believe that people my age are much more better candidates, because if I remember myself at my twenties, I was much more self centered person than I am today. With age a person gets more experience, becomes more empathetic with people etc. So I was very disappointed and as much as I wanted to do this job, I really have to except the fact that it's to late for me. When I was at the ideal age, I haven't clue that I could apply without actually being already flight attendant. Now with social media some things are easier. Anyway, just wanted to share my experience.
From my knowledge this happened in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I don’t know if it happened in other recruitment places as well. But so far I have not been able to confirm anyone being hired above 30
That's terrible, the air stewardess who was sacked for not knowing the yoghurt served in first class. She could've been demoted, but not sacked. Keep up the good work, try to change your entonation and volume.
The thing with European Airlines is also...you often have to know the local language (Dutch for KLM, German for Austrian etc.), so that's very limiting. After Brexit, it's a bit complicated with British as well. As for the age limits in Asian airlines, I find it very weird, that they prefer youth (btw. people in their 30s are also pretty much a youth, so it's even weirder) to more experienced and grounded folks. But shout out to Qatar for giving us a chance:,)
People in their 30s know their rights, so if they hired grown thinking adults, saying out loud things like “we will not accept your CV unless you’re under 30” would be met with a “see you in court”, alongside immediate firing (without compensating for missed employment months) etc etc. A lot of these young girls have no clue they have rights even in Dubai and Qatar, they just pack up and leave . Not to mention, putting up with unjust supervisors or odd rotas and not taking count of employee preferences - wouldn’t be accepted by over 30 year olds.
It's not worth it. On top of this job is not being healthy and you're always on to go, they're picky about small situations. Give me a break. It's a very stressful job and the airlines Management makes it more stressful. I used to work at the airport for a major airline. I knew few Flight Crew. They used to change jobs like crazy. They hardly stayed with the same airline. This job is stressful, dangerous, not healthy (being in the air a lot), dealing with passengers and no security. I could've been a FA, but I chose to work on the ground as a Ticket Agent and even that was stressful. No Thanks.
Thank you for this comment. I wanted to live my dream and travel with Emirates and foolish me, I didn't knew they hire only very young girls. Your comment helped me to process my disappointment. Maybe it's for the better.
❤ Thank you for your video. I will try Qatar at 38 next month 🙈 will let you know how it goes. Yes EU passport ufff I have free access to labor market where I live, will try 🙏🏾
Thanks for your videos. you are an inspiration. I really like the honest and real way you make your videos, keep it up. I'm going this month to go to the emirates open day in Portugal, any new important advice?
Hi Aura. Being an Emirates flight attendant has been my dream job. I would like to know the whole hiring process and time from the application to the end
Hi! I just want to ask if EK has age limit for the cabin crew? Coz they’re hiring here in mnl this week and i dont know if me and my friend should go. We are ex crew and we are 38 and 40. U think shall we try it?
In all honesty… given there are no employment rights or employment union, it’s a tax-free country meaning the country doesn’t owe you anything either - if you get sacked, you’ve got: No pension. No unemployment benefits. No rights to argue against their ‘final’ decision to keep your employment and income. You literally get tossed out into nowhere and if it happens to be on a 6-month probation - you will also owe them money for onboarding and flights.. for $2-2.5K salary? Like, it’s fun to do for the sake of traveling? But I heard lately they put people on back-to-back flights, so they don’t even get to enjoy the destination city. You will have to save all your money, just in case you would have to return to whatever country you’re going to, find a new job and place to live.. it makes sense why they are looking for fresh adults that have no kids, boyfriends or financial responsibilities - they can just go live with their parents at home I guess?
Hey! I have a question. Before, Emirates used to write the minimum age that was 21 at least but this time there's no minimum age limit like 21 so what does it means??? Like below 21 can apply like 18 yr old??
Hi! I just wanted to say I absolutely love your content I'm a massive fan of the anime references🤣 I was actually wanting to ask I had my final interview on the 25th of January but my application still says it's under review. Do you think that's a bad sign?
Hi there, Thank you so much 🥰🥰 But I’m honestly not sure about your application status. I don’t want to give you any false information. I hope you get an update sometime soon. Best of luck!
We cannot trust in a company that hires people based on the physical appearance, especially not accepting tattoos.. I guess it’s a lot of discrimination in this company. Well, I went to an open day and I realized that right away. I passed and the first interview and what I saw was a bunch of people who were there just because of the physical appearance. There was a form we had to fill up and this form was asking what was our religion, this is stupid.
Hi Aura! I've been watching your videos to prepare for my open day and they've been extremely helpful. I just have a couple questions that I was hoping you could clear up? Mainly if i should put any photos of myself in my CV? Should I bring my passport, my ID and my diploma, along with copies of each and put them together with my CV? Thank you in advance, you've been so helpful in preparing me for the open day and I just wanna make sure I get everything right. It's gonna happen on the 21st of February, so I'm getting more and more nervous haha.
@@varshavalsalan7622 it was pretty good! I ended up passing to the end and doing the individual interview, at which I was a little nervous and my voice was a little shaky, but otherwise it went fine. Only 13 people showed up to the open day, six ended up passing. In the end, I didn't get the job, most probably because of my lack of work experience and age (I'm not 21 yet). The other five people got the job as far as I know, four I know for sure did because we stayed in contact but the fifth one I don't know because we didn't get his contact info. I'm a little disappointed that I didn't get the job, i really had hope that I would pass but I guess I'll have to try again.
Sorry for the late reply. I hope you watched my CV building video for information about the CV. They will not hire you if you are under 21 years of age. It’s the requirement of the UAE government that you are above 21 to be able to work in the country. So don’t be disappointed. Try again after you become 21.
@@auraintheclouds thank you Aura! Your videos have been extremely helpful, I've got a job as a receptionist to gain some work experience and I will try again in six months. I'll be 21 then and also have some recent work experience, so let's hope it'll be enough 😁
Hii, don't know whether you are tired of being applied to Emirates. But I saw recently, even now Qatar is recruiting in Sri Lanka. Colombo/Galle/Kandy. Applications are open till end of April. ❤
I went to Emirates open day last week, I’m 30 I got to the final interview. Unfortunately I got the email today that they won’t proceed, it’s sad because the recruiter told me you are perfect for the job, you are it! So my hopes were up. Very discriminating.
Hi! I just want to ask if EK has age limit for the cabin crew? Coz they’re hiring here in mnl this week and i dont know if me and my friend should go. We are ex crew and we are 38 and 40. U think shall we try it?
I would always go and try you can’t lose anything. But like I said I’m 30 I got to the final stage me and 2 other girls and the one with the least work experience got hired she had only had one job and just turned 21. My interview went super if my recruiter would be the one to take the final decision I’m pretty positive that I would get it, I think it was my age since she mentioned many times you are so perfect for the job why didn’t you apply earlier. Also the other girl didn’t get hired either and she was 26 and currently working as cabin crew on another airline. There could be many reasons but I think it was my age but you should definitely try it’s always worth a shot.
@@whosthebossimtheboss i heard if you will be 31 by the time u join them, they dont take 30yr olds. It’s unofficially until 30 for them maximum. why would they put in their reqts at least 21 and above if it’s only until 30 y/o right? They should be transparent and honest with themselves coz many are aspiring. That’s a false hope and people will waste time applying when theres no chance from the get go just coz of age. Qr is best coz theyre hiring even 41 yrs old as long as they look young and fit.
I loved your video but if you're not planning to apply for CC job then what is your second option like your future plan that would be great if you'll share with us ✌️xoxo😊

HI David 👋 how did it go?
Hi Aura. Being an Emirates flight attendant has been my dream job. I would like to know the whole hiring process and time from the application to the end
Please watch the other relevant videos that I’ve made
Dear the video is amazing but sooooo long ❤🎉
its full of quality though which makes it worth it 😉
That’s why I have added time stamps. You can choose to watch what section you want. 🙂
Wooooooooow you are sooo pretty
Haha thank you malli. Hope you are well.
Hi there,
Thank you so much 🥰🥰
But I’m honestly not sure about your application status.
How did the interview process go ?
@@fetch4985 next time I hope you make it all the way through. Good luck!
Hii, don't know whether you are tired of being applied to Emirates. But I saw recently, even now Qatar is recruiting in Sri Lanka. Colombo/Galle/Kandy. Applications are open till end of April. ❤
Yes I’m aware. They’ve been coming for recruitments since February
Ozm Akkiii♥️
When is ur bday?
May 1993 why
I loved your video but if you're not planning to apply for CC job then what is your second option like your future plan that would be great if you'll share with us ✌️xoxo😊
All information will come in the future episodes. Keep watching 😘
You can join at 30. 30 is not a problem at all
What if 38?
When it comes to the passport and visa issue , are you able to work as cabin crew if your passport is of really bad quality ( one that requires a visa to enter almost every country) as long as you have a work visa in Emirates ?
It’s very similar to working on cruise ships
Yes very
💕
thank y sooo much , i have a question about certificate of vaccination of covid19 it is important to take it with me in the interviews day ? and it is necessary after they accept me ? i hope you answer me plsss 🙏🙏 bcs i have certificate of exemtion from vaccination ,is that a problem or not ? pls i hope y answer me i really need

Dear sister ,I have completed my OL exam and now I m following a data science degree after completing a foundation course in a private university .I didnt do AL.Will I be able to apply for Emirates cabin crew vacancy .😊❤️
I heard that the Island of Dubai is going out of business and becoming very dangerous.

so glad I joined QF at age of 24
It’s like the trad wife of jobs .. hate people glamorising this lifestyle
Theres definitely a big downside to this job. Just as any job
Any news about new recruitments in any airline these dats in Srilanka?
I really like ur cute voice
Thank you
Well get on with it!
hello dear, do tattos matter to become emirates cabin crew?? please reply me. I ve got two tattos on my shoulder and my hand
Visible tattoos while in uniform are not allowed. The shoulder should be fine, but the hand is probably not.
Is there maximum age limit for emirates?
30/32
I wanna be a Cabin Crew with Gulf air...can you make a video On gulf air!
අක්කෙ emirates air hoster කෙනෙක් වෙන්න බලන අවම උස කීයද?
Hey akki i saw u at qatar airways interview ....
Did you? 🥰
Did you come talk to me?
@@auraintheclouds no akki i couldn't. i think u got selected 😍
@@oshadisewwandi9116 the process is long dear. Still they are choosing. Let’s see
@@auraintheclouds definitely you will be selected❤
I am not sure i get the point of your video
Maybe you’ll get the point one day when you become a cabin crew 🙂
ONLY YOU HAVE YO KNOW SOMEONE
Where are you now? MISSING your vlogs
Been a bit busy 😅😅
But hopefully I’ll get back to it soon!
One of the reason may be the voice?
Oh my god, please try to talk less annoying!…
Hi, the way you worded this, is not nice. It's rude. No one forced you to listen to her. Not everyone is blessed with beautiful middle pitched voices. It will do well someday in your life if you can try being polite. It's a shitty world. Let's be kinder to each other.
