There's a common (albeit not well studied) idea that comic sans is easier for dyslexic readers. I'm not sure why, but the idea seems to be quite pervasive in the scientific community, while I've never heard this fact (myth?) repeated outside those circles.
But Comic Sans looks so unprofessional. I could imagine that CS is easier to read than a dense typeface with serifs and ligatures and stuff. It has a fairly wide letter-spacing, but I'd guess that every sans serif font with reasonably clean letters would be as easy to read.
