    Thanks for your video I now have 2 bonfire peach trees and one bonanza this makes me excited for my future

      Hello @itsjokerman4882, thank you for watching and commenting! That sounds like a good variety of peach trees to have in your Green Yard. I'm hoping to add at least one more variety to The Green Yard. Peaches do so well here in Phoenix and there is nothing like a fresh, tree picked Peach. I hope you have lots of harvests in your future!

      Hello, thank you for commenting and watching! I would have to agree with you, I have seen many other dwarf Bonanza Peaches and the majority of them do not look as good as our tree in The Green Yard. I hope that this continues and I continue to get some more amazing harvests.

    Have you heard of Fruit salad trees? With 4 different apples, citrus, etc I have a 4 different kinds of apple tree. I got at Berridge nursery. You should check out that nursery.

      Hello @EileenJOfficial, thank you for watching and commenting! I have heard of fruit salad trees before. My parents actually had a citrus fruit salad growing up with lemon, grapefruit and lime on it. That is amazing that you have four different kinds of apples on one tree. I have thought about trying my hand at grafting and taking cuttings from my current apple trees and adding them together. I will have to check it out, thank you for the advice!

    Appreciate your videos and knowledge share! I just picked up a Pixie Zee from one of the big box stores and brought it home only to have it get really crispy and curl on me! I had originally thought I could place it on my patio by my hot tub, but maybe it got too hot there? Will it bounce back? I have since repotted into a larger container and placed in a grass/dirt area. I have about 2-3 inches of mulch at the top. Any tips and advice would be much appreciated. The plant has a set of peaches and I was hoping to have a harvest! Thanks!

      Hello @EdnaSmith, thank you for watching and commenting! Of course, I love growing plants and I figure I can share my knowledge and experience to help others grow too. That great that you were able to buy a Pixie Zee, I'm sorry to hear it's not doing well. It really just depends on how damaged it is. I have seen Peach trees be very resilient before when given the correct care. Is it doing okay in our summer heat? What I do is, for the first year, no matter the tree, I give it afternoon shade. The mulch is definitely helping to keep the soil moist so that is a good thing. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    I personally think they are a great tree , although I feel there are better tasting varieties. Great video and your tree looks great .

      Hello, thank you for watching and commenting! I would agree with you that it is a great tree but there are probably some better options out there. What is your favorite variety of Peach tree? Thank you for your kind words.

    I'm dying right now. You live near my inlaws , I spotted my old church building in your footage before you landed.
    I recently got a bonanza peach tree from Costco, they had fruit on them but a shriveled up, I probably should have thinned them out.

      Hello @EileenJOfficial, thank you for watching and commenting! That is so funny! We love this part of Phoenix and enjoy our Green Yard. I actually got this tree from Costco as well. I feel like they're one of the better big box stores for buying trees and plants. Oh no! Yes, I have let this one get too full of fruit before as well.

    Can you please explain the seddless grape?? I always thought seedless grapes were considered gmo.. i thought seeded was the way to go.

    • @thegreenyardaz
      @thegreenyardaz  2 месяца назад +1

      Hello @VibinWithTiffy, thank you for watching and commenting! I had to do some research to answer your comment as I am not very well versed in grapes and the GMO factor between seeded and seedless. I personally bought a seedless grape vine because I do not like the seeds. Through a lot of research I found that seedless does not necessarily mean GMO and that most seedless grape vines were produced through selective breeding as opposed to actually going in on a cellular level and modifying the genetics of the plant. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

    How much rain do y’all get in Arizona, phoenix area? Everything looks green where you are. Did you amend the soils for that result, it looks good!

    • @thegreenyardaz
      @thegreenyardaz  8 месяцев назад

      Hello @Sanchez96d, thank you for watching and commenting! Phoenix generally gets around 8 inches of rain each year. It's not very much compared to other places but a decent amount for a desert. Part of the reason that The Green Yard and surrounding area look so green is because it is a very old neighborhood that has flood irrigation from the Salt River Project. This means that we receive irrigation every 2 weeks that floods our property and really deep soaks all of our trees. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

      Hello, thank you for watching and commenting! That is awesome to hear that you have purchased a Dwarf Bonanza Peach. The one in this video was planted 3 years ago. It was a pretty small tree when I got it and planted it into The Green Yard. Hopefully this information helps you. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    How old is your tree?

    • @thegreenyardaz
      @thegreenyardaz  Год назад +1

      Hello, thank you for watching and commenting! That is a great question. I bought it as a small bare root tree in 2020. I didn't plant it in the ground until fall of 2020. So it's a little less than three years in the ground. Hopefully this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

    Be honest what's the taste compared to other peaches?

    • @thegreenyardaz
      @thegreenyardaz  2 месяца назад

      Hello @KJV7154, thank you for watching and commenting! I feel that these peaches are actually really good. I have eaten a few varieties that are sweeter but the Bonanza seem to be a larger size than the other peaches I've tried. For me, I have a hard time beating the birds to the completely ripe peaches so I usually get them when they're a little less sweet. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions.

    How do you think the flavor of this compares to a Florida prince, or a Desert Gold? I know both of those do well here also.

    • @thegreenyardaz
      @thegreenyardaz  Год назад +1

      Hello, thank you for watching and commenting! I actually have not tried a Florida Prince or Desert Gold Peach yet. I really want to plant a Florida Prince. I have heard from other's that have tried all kinds and they mention that the Florida Prince has a really good flavor profile and is sweet, better than the Bonanza Peaches. I will update my comment when I hopefully get to try them again in the future. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions.
