I like Botanist the best for negronis for sure. It takes the astringent harshness off from the campari, and it's less harsh than other gins, and it adds a sort of herbal character that balances well in the drink. It makes the negroni a touch lighter, which is always nice after a long climb
Just picked up a bottle of this bc of my love of Islay scotch...hope it's good
I casually buy a bottle or three of gin every Summer for those warm days when nothing goes down like a cold gin & tonic... Trouble is, the annual Premium Spirits Release was on the Third of November, completely on the off-season of gin for me... I doubt that I will be able to find this again until the next Premium Spirits Release, but then again, I have not been closely monitoring the gin section of any liquor stores...
I'm not a big gin drinker but I'll probably return to this bottle in the summer. It's also a nice palate cleanser after eating spicy food, especially with garlic or pesto.
I have been meaning to get a bottle of this but I always forget. I think your video will be a reminder. I bought a 1/2 bottle of Monkey 47 gin and was blown away with the nose and flavors, great neat.
This Islay Gin is head of the class. I prefer to keep the Gin (no ice or dilution) in a freezer to experience the taste opening up. It is also excellent at room temperature with 2 drops of distilled water.
If you want to make a Gin cocktail don't waste this, use Gordon's or Tanqueray instead.
p.s. Their Scotches are wonderful.
Picking up a bottle tomorrow. 😎
I find it to be very refreshing and I like it on ice after dinner, especially after eating pesto or garlic.
Beautifull bottle I saw to times but did not feel like buying it because off the price and not knowing if I will like it
Think I will buy it now
As wel as Roku ... japanese Gin which is revieuwed very good
Just picked up a 375ml of this for $5.99! Couldn't pass it up for that! Cheers!
I hope you like it!
I'm shy with gin, but I did live in the Netherlands for 3 years.
I liked this one on ice. It seems to fit the same place as an after-dinner breath freshener liqueur or it would play well on ice on a hot summer day.
Great review, Erik! Ugly Betty makes an attractive bottle. :)
It does! I didn't mention it in the video, but they embossed the names of all the botanicals on the bottle.
@@ErikWaitWhiskyStudies so cool!
Nice review! Please do more gin reviews. Maybe Plymouth Gin????
In only did this gin because it was from a whisky distillery. If I did more gin reviews it would be outside the purpose of this channel.
Enjoyed the review. Bought a bottle on sale haven’t tried it yet. Enjoy the botanicals so I’m sure I will like it.
Hope you enjoy it!
Love the flavor, perfect for Spring even better for the summer . Really refreshing.
Yummy stuff thanks for the review
I've yet to taste Erbs!
In the USA we don’t pronounce the “h” in “herbs”.
Delicious gin.
Oh yes!
