This story really hit home with me.As a young man in the 1970's I prospected for gold in the headwaters of the Trinity River.Almost 50 years later,I call Eureka, Ca. my home.Eureka has a dark past. The Indian Island massace, that Brete Hart wrote about, the violent Chinese expulsion, and the killing of timber mill workers trying to unionize in the 1930's.Some of my clostest friends from working have been from Laos, and Mong, the sons of men who fought along side our troops in Vietman.Stories like this must never be forgotten, or swept under the rug.

Invented by ignorant or non-English speaking people…A sad chapter in Oregon’s history eclipsed only by the white led ethnic cleansing of Native American tribes who had lived on their own land for thousands of years.

During the mid 1970s I lived in an area of Josephine County Oregon near an historical gold mining location of town of Waldo which is long gone. My friend named Dick Stein owned the town but he also has passed away. I was camping in Allen Gulch summer 1976 along the East Fork Illinois River and one day as I was hiking through this remote forested area I came upon an meadow which there in the ground in front of me were very many short white crosses there, there was an large steep bluff facing the meadow. There was significant evidence of hydraulic mining at this site. I made inquiries to local knowledgeable persons about this spot and was told that there were many Chinese miners whom had been killed and buried alive from the mine shaft was blown up due to these Chinese had been revolting and causing problems. It was an very eerie experience for me to come across this sad site there in SouthWestern Oregon. The Chinese did much hydraulic mining and built miles of stone water canals throughout Southern Oregon.

They destroyed everything they touched. Till this day, serial killers continue to roll off that family tree. Too bad the tribes didn't castrate them early on to prevent the ongoing slaughter of ethnic cleansing and endless stream of murders of women n children. Most still unsolved.

Magruder massacre is another very interesting story. Lots of Chinese helped build the camas prairie railroad too. Also use to hear stories back in the day where they'd move the Chinese workers in underground tunnels under the Lewiston streets so they weren't seen but I could never confirm that by anyone.

Should WW2 not be taught in schools and remembered in books and movies? Should we never mention the Nazi’s atrocities? Use your brain. No one is being blamed other than the perpetrators who committed mass murder. Why are you so sensitive about this? I dare say you wouldn’t have any issue with this documentary if it were white miners that were massacred- you’d rightfully be shocked that such an injustice took place and no one was held responsible. There's many troubling aspects to this production. 1. I The PBS production appears to be written and video published in 08/01/18, Now it's puked out on youtube. 2. I read the original story, published in the early 1980s which originated from journalists in Wallowa County, Oregon.I know it's out there that early, but I'm not going to bother to refute.. PBS. So PBS copied it and some other people picked it up under more glamorous journals [West Shores] So it's already been well Documented. so PBS is redoing it with an "ain't we evil" twist 44 years later, And in 2024 six years later. It was likely documented as early as 1925. So now we have PBS lamenting " Mia Copa Mia Copa". 3. I have the utmost respect for The academic credentials of Chuimei Ho And I intend to read her report "Coming Home in Gold Brocade: Chinese in Early Northwest America". However, she is a Hong Kong-er with a London PHD. Maybe and maybe not naturalized American. 4.Why didn't PBS hunt down an American Chinese related to this? They're around. They weren't all killed. I just don't want some foreigner judging American culture. I think the Chinese Americans, they would be bitc*y* about it, but they have a more authentic perspective. And yep, I'm a nasty old white guy. I was married to a Han Chinese for 15 years. I've got a perspective. People are people and evil lurks in a heart of all people to varying degrees.

He also has a large hose he has running from the garage to the creek that runs through town, he siphons creek water or dumps into the creek or both. They tried to kill my disabled relative who moved there and bought a home for a nice peaceful life. He couldnt help how the neighbors would mess with him and hurt him and how the cops and crisis lines allowed it. ... but hes sent "friends" back there to keep tabs on all involved and their family members, they will cause the same harm to them that the cops allowed to be done to him, they know where they eat, sleep, hunt, fish, travel, work, school and drive. None of them are safe unless they face justice

Before the government make office mexico was incorporated with America. First boat recorded was in 1100 , the indians invited then to be able to sale materials exchange guns from the Caucasian then wars broke out over dominant domains and territory.
