Hip Hop became the music of the in the mid 80's and became a leader of the music industry in sales the 1999. It evolved from party music to positive messages to gangster rap. Hip Hop final form has been the destructive drill music. The NBA has had a similar path with the beginnings 50's, 60's and 70's. The golden age of the 80's,90's, and early 2000's. This devolved into the Lebron James era and the 3-point spectacle we have today. In previous eras both in music and in the NBA you had the new kid in the wings waiting to kick the door in and signal that there was a new sheriff in town. Be it Rakim/LL replacing Run-DMC and then being replaced by the Tupac/Biggie or Bird and Magic replacing the old guard and then being replaced by Jordan. This era has no replacement waiting in the wings. Whether it be Hip Hop or the NBA.

The current NBA is so soft to years past. They have created this artificial GOAT debate to keep the NBA media relevant. The media is trying to diminish the most complete player the game has ever seen ( JORDAN ) and compare him to a player that has so many deficiencies that he has to play in personal system to be effective ( LEBRON ). The NBA stated to change the rules in 2004 cause ONE AND DONE college players and Euro players coming into the league was struggling with the physical style of basketball. Now the Euro players that come over say how much easier the current NBA is compared to the Euro style of basketball… this was the opposite of 80’s 90’s and early 2000’s basketball. Luka and jokics are two of the lest athletic players in the league but are dominating the league. The current NBA is less skilled and not as athletic as the media makes them out to be. Past GREATS of the 80’s 90’s and early 2000’s would absolutely dominate this era with its current rules set for defense. FACTS!!!
