  • I explain why you would upgrade the rear sway bar on a Volkswagen Golf Mk7 GTI and also the cornering results of going from a 20mm stock sway bar to a 26mm H&R rear sway bar on my 2017 Volkswagen Mk7 Golf GTI. The results after installing the H&R 26mm rear sway bar on my 2017 Golf GTI were impressive. I love the way the car turns in to the corner with the new rear sway bar. Installing the 26mm H&R rear sway bar on my VW Mk7 Golf GTI was a drastic improvement on the corner. The car handles a lot more confidently through hard and long cornering.
It is very common for the stock sway bar setup on a car to cause it to push. This is safer for the general user, but not optimized for cornering performance. By upgrading to a thicker rear sway bar you balance out the weight being transferred to your outside tires, resulting in faster cornering and more grip.
