Tuesday rapidly turning into the best day of the week! Waiting for the new vlog to drop is agony so have to fill my time going back 12 months to see the vlog from same time last year. Keep up the good work!
Apologies for a comment a week late, been on holiday. Great vlog, you battling for sound control with Flo was hilarious 😅 and what glorious spuds came out of that bag....i remarked about your compost bag slicing technique to my wife....and then you vilified your reason, shut me up 😂. Keep up the excellent work. Cheers Jessie
Dear Jessie, I've been off gardening and my favourite allotmenteers since Christmas. For the first time in my life my nails grew long enough for nail polish (no grubbing in the dirt) - I painted them blue in honour of you.
Totally agree about the asparagus. I love getting people to try eating straight out of the garden. Because no one seems to know what it really tastes like fresh.
A few years ago we built a walk in frame especially for brassicas but for two years it has mostly bred snails so this year I put i n lots of plants from last year, like, black kale, sprouts, chard, pac choi lettuce and spinach and all are flowering or setting seed, hopefully to feed my new micro greem obsesson 😂
I don’t touch my potatoes until they stop flowering and begin to die back. Huge yields then! I learned potatoes need lots of water when growing so can’t skip a day if it’s hot.
That chicken sounds like a rooster. Your garden is looking beautifully. You would have got big potatoes had you left them for another 3or 4 weeks. I love my spuds and new ones are really special. I’m old but love very spicy food. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💞🥰🤗
Your plot is much more lush than mine but at least i try lol and it's always been fun trying 😊 plus, ya can't beat fresh organic food can ya 😉 I've enjoyed watching another lovely vlog of yours 😊 cheers ❤️
My garden is almost in. I need to thank you for the tips, advice, inspiration etc. last year and this I’ve enjoyed the veg garden so much. I’m even growing flowers! Who would have thunk? Anyway. I really appreciate your channel. 🍁🍁🍁🇨🇦👩🌾👩🌾👩🌾👍❤️
Hiya Jessie, enjoyed today’s visit. My partner asked if I could grow asparagus for us then I showed him a peek into your video and now he understands that we don’t have that kind of space here in suburban southern Ontario Canada lol. I do purchase from local farmers when in season, agree we prefer that over the grocery store that imports from other countries. How ever the farmers market is truly getting pricey and I understand why. Cheers Luv 🇨🇦🐝
My other half paint Warhammer and I need a soil presser so he made me one with a wine cork and cork mat it's so cute lol, my taters are being demolished by slugs never seen such damage, fab vlog Jessie 🥰
Great update Jessie, very very busy lol but the plot is looking great , you and your mum make a great team say hi for me and keep up the good work , sorry to hear about your back , hope your feeling better soon xx
Hi, I know this is an older video but what is the root you pulled up and talking about club root? How do you use the root? You plant a few things I have never heard of. I just found your channel a few days ago so I'm going back and watching some older ones. You have a beautiful allotment!! You are very knowledgeable about growing beautiful veggies! I'm in the US and had never heard of allotments until I saw another channel that has one. I have a large garden in my back yard. I think if I had to go somewhere else to garden I would never be motivated to go take care of it. Out of sight out of mind haha. Anyway, you and your mum do an amazing job!
Enjoyed your video… here in the states, we had Mother’s Day….wishing your mom had a lovely day… love watching her get going in the garden…you girls are motivating me to continue my gardening….
Morning ladies, I would take a few days of your rain 38c here and weeks of no rain is not boding well for summer. I have lost a few things to burning (my fault 🤦🏼♀️) and bolting already. You go Flo girl make your voice heard. That was one giant snail on Instagram 😮. Anyway I’ll stop waffling, have a fab week, Ali 🌞🥵🇨🇦
The plot is looking lovely I was in London last week headed right to B&M to get seeds . My mom also gifted me seeds 😅 she knows me well. Hoping the broad beans will do well here in New Jersey. Could not get a ticket to the sky garden for love nor money but Kew was lovely.
No reason the beans won't do well although it might be a little late depending on variety. Be sure to let some go dry on the plant to provide next year's seed.
Same happened for me with basil I have some coming on now in poly. But I bought a plant from supermarket and split it and got 17 plants cos my own sowing keeps failing. That worked very well.👍
Hi Jess I know what you mean about the weather. We were at my sons at sunbury on Thames from Friday to Sunday. Saturday was meant to be warm sunny and 20 degrees but the sun didn’t come out at all and was about 15 degrees. Sunday we went to Richmond park to Isabella’s plantation it was gorgeous and hot then went to pub for lunch. So I do know what you mean there in Richmond👍didn’t spot you and mum tho🤣🤣🤣
Those potatoes look great Jessie, what variety are they? They're a beautiful colour. I have got my 1st 4 raised beds in on my 1st plot and inspired by you I have sown grass around them. They look very good, I'm interested to see what kind of harvest we get (already there is a wild rabbit and flea beetle so I'm hoping they don't eat too much). Also, do brassicas only need covering at certain times of the year to protect from insects?
Please show us your stuffed Achocha when the time comes. I grew the smaller variety (after seeing one of your videos) for a couple of years, very prolific in a Mediterranean climate, but thought were too fiddly for stuffing. Saw the giant ones growing and they were enormous so will be interested if you find the flavour different.
After a busy work 6 weeks I am woefully behind on the plot….lots to plant out this weekend after you have inspired me to get going again! Are you going to Chelsea this year?
You should come to asparafest round my way! Im in the vale of evesham (Worcestershire), which is famous for asparagus. We call it 'gras', and you can have a round of gras. The Fleece Inn do loads of stuff to celebrate asparagus, youd love it. Including a mascot, Aspara Gus

Hello Jessie, Everything there is so green. We are just opening the door to the warm weather. I got about 50 brassicas transplanted outside yesterday. Still 2 weeks away from tomatoes coming out but I can start the hardening off in a week. All the potatoes are planted, garlic is up and looks so good this year best May garlic in some time. I am still sowing my onion starts everywhere here and there. Sweet potatoes, okra and peppers are about 10 days away. Time is lining up like transplant appointments on the calendar. Hello, and you are? I am okra here to be transplanted in the garden. Oh I am so sorry you are 10 days early you will need to come back at your appointed time. OK Cya then....
