Pleasant Rafael it's so nice . My daughter asked for a pair . Best video out there . I like that you can pause it . No talking to distract you just uplifting music
Seriously, some of the sock patterns targeting “beginners” still utilize techniques like heel turns, raglan increases, and kitchener stitches. All good skills to learn but extremely daunting for your first sock!!! Something like this is fantastic because it builds confidence AND they’re cute and functional!
Finally! A truly beginners slipper pattern. I’m on my 4th scarf and now I’m ready to try making slippers. Just curious: when I knit, I hold/loop the loose yarn with my left hand, from left around front side of the right needle (right needle is behind left)… am I knitting reverse from your video? My scarves have all turned out. Does that first loop/sliding it over to the other needle, make that nice edge? Thank you!
Yayy my first sock is done! I'm so so happy it looks so cute and it's super comfy. Thank you for the tutorial x I'm knitting this for my sister'l as a birthday gift. 😊
Thank you so much for the video and written pattern. Your video is easy to follow and I think this will be a good portable project (I care for my 90 year old momma) that I can work without losing my place. Bless you always😍
I am so happy I found this video!! I have completely pulled out the single slippers that I couldn't fix or grasp what I was doing wrong from the pattern. I can't wait to make these tomorrow!🥰
U deserve an award, trophy etc. I really like this for home wear. Now my Christmas sock list can b accomplished. Maybe next year, I'll attack the pro sock for outside wear... Nah ☺️
I just made some . They aren't the most beautifuliest as I used really chunky acrylic. But they fit and I made them ! Thank you so much for this wonderful video you are super !!
Hi, sorry about that. It's a written tutorial so I didn't want it to be totally mute, though I could have lowered the volume. Unfortunately, its already out so I guess you have to adjust the volume from your end.
Thank you so much , your video was very beautifully done! So easy to follow,I usually watch knitting videos and feel discouraged and think No way I can’t make that! But I am very excited to get started! I can’t wait to watch some more of your videos!
I just finished one sock/bootie, now I'm making one for the other foot, and I even made it the same color as yours - looks identical. Thanks Again Lu - Ushta-te!
This tutorial is amazing and easy to follow as a beginner. For some reason I never got the special part even on my second try lol. There is also the point bit by the heel of the slipper- other than that, this was awesome to make! Thank you so much for this!!!!
Glad you liked it. For the special effect it depends on 1) how u begin each row and 2) picking up only the front n back loop of each sides while joining them together.
Such an easy and amazing description. I am planning to make a ladies and a gents size. I have four ply wool and I will use 10 number needle UK size ie 3.25 mm. please guide me how many stitches should I put for knitting it for both the sizes. Will really appreciate your help Thanks a lot 😊
Will have to definitely cast on more stitches. For the ladies size you can start the cast on between 35-40 stitches. Make 1 sample, then you'll get the idea on how much you need to increase or decrease for both the sizes (ladies n gents)
Can u let me know the socks in the video is what size? According to indian standard what no.needle u hv used. For 9..10 size how many stitches, length and needle to be used. Yr early reply pointwise will be appreciated.??Neeraja
Love your quick & easy pattern, thanks!! Quick ?, am lousy at converting pattern sizes; how many casting on stitches would you recommend using a bulky 6 yarn with 9mm needles? Oops...also when you say length of foot are you going just from bottom of the foot or from heel to toe? Lol...sorry, little rusty; has been awhile. Thanks again, you've helped me find the finishing touches for stocking stuffers👍🏻🎄
Hi, I'm glad you found this video helpful 🤗. For 9mm needle and bulky yarn, I'm not so sure but you can try maybe about 20 cast on. Might need to cast on a little more or less depending on the broadness of the feet. And for length I measured from heel to toe by stretching out a lil.
Thanks sooo much!! Lol, dug thru my old yarn stash & found some medium (4) yarn. Sorry to be a pest; I do appreciate it..but in doing for a mans size 11(about 3" width) would I need to cast on more? Or is there a basic width I can work from & go from there? Truly appreciate, you've got me hooked(bad pun intended) to follow a few more of your projects. You do an excellent job, thrilled to have found you!!
For a man you have to cast on some more, cos you don't want the stitches to stretch too much when wrapped around the feet. You can always play around with the pattern and make the best required size. When you finish one, I would love to see it 😊 Happy knitting 🤗😘
Thanks yet again!!! Lol, will take a little figuring out how to do on the sly; they're for my daughters fiancé...hmmm😉 Will definitely send some pics when done! Wishing you & yours all the best this holiday season🎄❤️
In the video it would seem that the first sticht should be slipped off the needled as if to purl it, but in the written directions it just says to slip it off the needle. Could you please clarify?
was the decreasing of the row a must? im a beginner so im just following whatever it says but idk if decreasing the row was optional or not. please reply!
Hi Leah George. It's just an estimate (maybe 10-15 inches). You don't want to leave it too short and run out of yarn to stitch up. If there's excess, you can always trim it off after the project is completed.
Hi Chikin Nuggy. For whatever size you're making, just stretch it slightly to see if it fits the length of the person's feet. It's that simple. Hope you find this helpful.
I rewatched this 3 times, but I still don't understand. If we're knitting the length of the foot, what are 30 stitches for? My feet are bigger, it's around size 8.5 or 9. How many stitches do I cast on? How do I understand how many to cast on? Also, I'm using 5.5 mm needles (it's all I have for now, unfortunately).
Hi, the 30 cast ons will be the width of the sock that'll be wrapped around the foot. So you'll need to knit the length as per your foot size (you can place your foot on the knitted piece to see if it fits before binding off. It'll stretch, so don't have to knit the whole foot length) You can cast on between 30- 35stitches for your needle size. I hope this helps you understand a little better. 😊
Knitting needles are basically just 2 sticks with pointed ends, so yea you can use it I suppose. Do choose a strong pair so it doesn't accidentally break while working.
A small detail I forgot to mention in the video. - Needle size - 4mm

Beautiful I am going to knit a pair for my daughter.
Hi Rashi, depending on the size you might need more or less. But for the size in the video, 80-90 meter (35-40 gm) is sufficient for both the pairs.
To the beginners, this is it. The simplest one I've seen (at least out of the 10 or so that I've seen so far). Really nicely done!

Really enjoyed your video can I use 8ply for those awesome slippers. Thanks Jane (NZ)
You can definitely use any yarn weight you want. But 8ply would probably give you a very thick feel when worn.
@@LusHandicrafts thanks so much 🧶😊
Hello could you use dk wool would l have to double it as one strand is what we would normally use in the UK many thanks
Hi Elaine Brickwood! You might not have to double, but maybe add a few stitches. Try out a sample and see if it fits.
Thank you so much.
I have succeeded
Yay!! 😍👍

Hello Mam thank you so much for the reply ❤
Not much choice in my local store, but l am going to go get some wool tom l have seen 50gram balls so will get two let you no how l get on x
2 balls of 50 gm will suffice easily. When you're done, you can share your pictures in Facebook and also tag me on Instagram. Happy knitting ✌️

In the video it would seem that the first sticht should be slipped off the needled as if to purl it, but in the written directions it just says to slip it off the needle. Could you please clarify?
Yes it would be "slip off the needle as if to purl". Many thanks for pointing that out. Will update the written instructions.
was the decreasing of the row a must? im a beginner so im just following whatever it says but idk if decreasing the row was optional or not. please reply!
Yes, you need to decrease 1 row to give a better curve while gathering it up on the toe area. Otherwise it'll be kind of wonky.
Lu's Handicrafts oh i see, thank you so much for replying!
after binding off (at 4.50) how do you know how much yarn to leave to stitch it up?
Hi Leah George. It's just an estimate (maybe 10-15 inches). You don't want to leave it too short and run out of yarn to stitch up. If there's excess, you can always trim it off after the project is completed.
@@LusHandicrafts thankyou so much
hello! this video is super helpful! I was just wondering what size this is for? or is it for all sizes?
Hi! I'm glad it was helpful. It's for a UK/Indian size 5&6. You can add or remove few stitches to change size.

by the way, can i use a stiching needle as a substitute for the needle used in the video?
Why not, you can use any type of needle. It's Just that the type of needle used in the video has bigger eye and it's easier to thread it.
If 5mm needle is used let me know how many stitches to start with
