  • In 2014, a French company called Les Fines Lames introduced a luxury cigar knife. While the concept of having a knife that had a hole to cut cigars was not new, the company's cigar knife was a lot different than previous attempts from companies like XIKAR and Havana Al-Mar. For one, it was much more expensive ($350+), but it was also much larger and designed for more modern cigars.
Brooks Whittington reviewed that knife and was not fond of it. He found it awkward to use, expensive and most problematically, not that great at consistently cutting cigars. But Les Fines Lames now has a second model, Le Petit, which solves a lot of Brooks' problems on paper.

System is great but why make it a real knife ? Just sharpen the part that cuts the cigar and make the rest into a thumb rest. Other thing that now it is a knife and in some countries you can't wear a knife, in bars you can't wear a knife etc.

This guy must not know anything about handling knives. In this video and the Topps knife he reviewed he had a bandaid on his finger.

As someone who cuts a lot of cigars and Carry’s a variety of edc knives…this does fail on both. Beyond looking good in Instagram pictures (which is what most people are “using” this for) it’s not ideal at all.
