- Greensky Bluegrass perform their song “Demons” in this music video recorded in the SecondStoryGarage.com studio inside the newsroom at the Daily Camera in Boulder, Colorado.
Greensky Bluegrass pulled up to the Daily Camera in a vehicle unlike any we’ve seen bands travel in. The thing looked fortified. Like an armored personnel carrier or something. Then the band came into the Second Story Garage studio and fired off a disarmingly great set.
The Kalamazoo, Mich.-based Greensky has ascended into the high altitude of touring bluegrass artists through engaging songwriting, dogged travel and sheer instrumental competence. Eleven years of honing their craft is paying off for the band. Friday, for instance, Greensky is playing the storied Fillmore in San Francisco, and Sam Bush, one of bluegrass’ living legends, is scheduled to join them onstage. On July 12, Greensky will be at Red Rocks with Railroad Earth and Galactic. And Greensky’s members are familiar faces at festivals throughout the country, notably the Telluride Bluegrass Festival.
The band’s instrumentation - guitar, mandolin, banjo, dobro and upright bass - helps keep it rooted in bluegrass traditions, but the band brings a 21st-century spirit to the music and is pushing the genre into greener pastures.
Check out the rest of the Greensky session with “Leap Year” and “Demons” and their interview with Quentin.
What they brought us: On Oct. 1, 2003, The Kalamazoo Gazette published a “Family Circus” cartoon in which a boy is showing off his drawing of a landscape. In a speech balloon, the boy says, “It was upside-down when I colored it,” then he adds, “That’s why the sky is green and the grass is blue.” Greensky Bluegrass donated a signed copy of the cartoon. Priceless.

Top Drawer!
This is some high quality American music.
These guys made me like bluegrass! They're awesome!
That's because it isn't real bluegrass. It's watered down John Mayer wannabes with mediocre musical talent. That is the hipster culture in a nutshell.
Nikki F. I bet you're a blast at parties
Nathan Sutton haha. hilarious
@@nikkif.409 same kind of knucklehead that bashed Dylan for using an electric guitar. Music snobs don'y count.
@@WillieBeard , I cannot fix other people’s mediocrity. I just wish people knew what real bluegrass was. It is like listening to Japanese karaoke of Elvis and saying that is real rock n’ roll.
Best. Bluegrass. Band. Ever.
-says Heffer. See ya soon. B-)
Ayeeeeee vamo arribaaaa
Bass player gets an award for most joyous expression while singing. Love his emotion.
:)))
I found this totally by accident. Definitely not my type of music (I thought), but really blew me away. What a great sound. Left me wanting more. Thank you.
NKF Metal Services welcome to Blue Grass

I just stumbled upon these guys by accident yesterday. I haven't felt the need to buy a bluegrass cd for decades....now I have to...way to go guys...
All Access Volume One… "All Four" and "Train Junkie".. Bluegrass jams of the century … "King of the Hill" is pretty rowdy as well
This song was a good friend though a heartbreak that almost ended me. 11 years so crazy. Still hits.
Holy shit! It's like Mumford and Sons, except it sounds good and has actual credibility in the genre.
they sound way different than mumford, way better imo
Awesome

They put on one of the best sets I've seen from them at the Deep Roots festival last weekend. Definitely the best progressive bluegrass band out there right now. And that includes Yonder.
I was there, and that is when I truly discovered the magic that is Greensky Bluegrass!
Could listen to this all night 🎻🎼🎶🎵🎤

Bluegrass, music from the Irish immigrants seated in the Apalaches. The genesis of country music (not a style inside the genre).
So beautiful !
And remember: Bluegrass (Hillbilly music) + Rock = Rockabilly music. ;)
nah, came from the Scots...... Irish took all music from the scots. We are all Celts, but history likes a drunk person over a highlander
this track is beautiful.
Thankyou
